Accutome Accu-Pach VI Quick Reference Guide How to Measure a New Patient 1.) Power the unit on by flipping the switch in the back on the unit to on. (This unit has a touch screen. The Keyboard is only used to edit the file name while printing and enter an IOP from an external device). 2.) Attach the Ultrasonic probe to the side of the device. 3.) The machine is defaulted to begin in the Measure tab. To begin taking measurements: a. Apply topical anesthetic to the patient’s cornea. b. Ask the patient to blink. c. Place the Ultrasonic probe directly on the patient’s cornea. 4.) The flat portion of the probe tip should be COMPLETELY in contact with the patient’s cornea (not on an angle). Measurements will not be obtained unless the probe is completely in contact with the cornea. 5.) Once you are satisfied with the number of measurements acquired you can scroll through by tapping the Actual Measurement on the screen. a. The actual measurements will be displayed on the left hand side of the screen. b. The average will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. c. A number with an asterisk next to it is considered an outlier and can be deleted by pressing and holding that value on the test screen. 6.) Once you have recorded your average press the New Patient button to delete all readings. You can then move to the next eye. 7.) The Accu-Pach VI has a built in IOP adjustment calculator. An IOP is manually entered with the keyboard to calculate the “true” IOP based on pachymetry readings. 8.) Measurements can be printed by attaching USB disk to port.
