BLISS®
Bliss® instruments Cleaning & sterilization process by Acteon
All dental instruments should be disinfected, cleaned and sterilized before each use. For the Bliss® range: Use detergents and pH neutral solutions. The colored part of the handles are made of anodized aluminum and the sleeves are made of silicone. The working parts of Bliss® instruments are made of stainless steel. Anodization is an accelerated electrochemical oxidation process that strengthens the surface oxide layer of aluminum, making it more resistant to corrosion. An ISO 2143 certified reinforced sealing is done on all Bliss® instruments.
Bliss® instruments - Cleaning & sterilization process Process to follow Decontamination by soaking in an enzymatic solution. Respect the soaking times and dilution dosages recommended by the manufacturers.
Ultrasonic or thermo-washer cleaning. Check that the products used are suitable for aluminum.
Sterilization in autoclave 134°C for 18 minutes (132°C for 4 minutes - USA cycle or 134°C for 3-4 minutes Class B cycle - UK cycle). under humid atmosphere (demineralized water) in sterile bag. Rinse and dry the instrument before putting in the autoclave.
Recommendations for optimal cleaning and sterilization We recommend the use of the Easy Clip cassette (ref. 233.30) for cleaning and sterilizing Bliss® instruments in order to preserve the good condition of the instruments and to avoid any contact with stainless steel instruments. As indicated on the instructions below, sterilization by autoclave is strongly recommended. Cleaning and sterilization instructions.pdf
/! F or aluminum instruments, a pH of 4 to 8 maximum is recommended. Alkaline products, too acidic, with soda or potash are to be avoided. Indeed, an aluminum instrument is treated differently than a stainless-steel instrument. Some decontamination products are incompatible with aluminum, please refer to the instructions for these products. /! It requires a maximum material load (see recommendation according to the autoclave manufacturer) for sterilization at a constant temperature of 134°C for 18 minutes (132°C for 4 minutes - USA cycle or 134°C for 3-4 minutes Class B cycle - UK cycle) in a humid atmosphere (demineralized water). /! In order not to damage the sleeves it’s important not to put Bliss® instruments in contact with stainless steel or sharp instruments during cleaning and sterilization. Note: for all the tests, we used Dentasept® 3H Rapide (2% solution - neutral pH compatible with all types of materials and Septol Instruments Enzymatic (neutral pH compatible with compatible with aluminum alloys).
