INITIAL SET-UP CONNECTIONS: MAIN POWER CORD, GAS SUPPLY HOSES Connect power cord with respective power source. The device can be operated within a range of 100VAC to 240VAC at 50/60Hz. No manual switch-over is required. Connect pressure hoses of medical air/oxygen to the corresponding wall/bottle plug connectors. Gas supply pressure required in the range: 2,0 to 6,5 bar. AIR & OXYGEN connectors are of NIST type, without risk to be interchanged. Water trap p mounted on AIR connector is recommended.
INITIAL SET-UP CONNECT the FLOW SENSOR CABLE Connect plug of the flow sensor cable to the proper SENSOR connector at the rear side panel of fabian HFO.
INITIAL SET-UP CONNECT the FLOW SENSOR Connect a disinfected flow sensor to the flow sensor cable. To avoid anyy trouble of flow sensor/cable connection, p payy attention to the p proper p insertion between the two parts. It is easily guided thanks to the same shape at the end of flow sensor cable and flow sensor connection.
The neonatal flow sensor in the pictures is the reusable one (P/N 1031).
INITIAL SET-UP ASSEMBLY OF EXHALATION VALVE Before starting with a new patient, prepare the exhalation valve. It consists of two components: the stainless steel block and the membrane. To ensure a proper function f off the h valve, l check h k proper insertion off the h membrane. b The marking TOP should be clearly visible.
INITIAL SET-UP ASSEMBLY OF EXHALATION VALVE Insert and clockwise rotate the disinfected exhalation valve in the housing at the front of fabian.

Neonatal patient circuit for Conventional Ventilation i.e. by using F&P model MR850* and disposable breathing circuit P/N 5293
INSERT HUMIDIFICATION CHAMBER Slide humidification chamber (i.e. DEAS autofeed chamber) onto humidifier base. Pay attention to the proper mounting of the humidification chamber onto humidifier base.
* Refer to F&P MR850 operating instructions
Neonatal patient circuit for Conventional Ventilation i.e. by using ACUTRONIC Infant Breathing Circuits*
CONNECTION of WATER feeding LINE Connect the water feeding line/tube of the chamber to the sterile water bag/bottle. Make sure that water inside humidifier chamber will not exceed the maximal level (MAX). By using DEAS Autofeed Chamber, the water level will be automatically maintained at the MAX level.
* Refer to ACUTRONIC circuits P/N 5293 or P/N 5294 or P/N 5300
