Alere Afinion ACR ™  Quick Reference Guide  Preparing for analysis Alere Afinion™ ACR Test Cartridge Store the test kit refrigerated (2-8°C) until the expiry date. The Test Cartridge must reach a temperature of 20-30°C before use; leave the unopened foil pouch on the bench for at least 15 minutes. n Use the Test Cartridge within 10 minutes after opening the foil pouch. n Hold the Test Cartridge by the handle. n n  Patient Sample Use random urine, preferably first-morning urine. Samples can be stored refrigerated (2-8°C) for 5 days. Do not freeze. n Mix the sample well by inverting the vial 8-10 times before use. n n  Alere Afinion™ ACR Control Store the controls refrigerated (2-8°C). Opened controls are stable for 8 weeks. The control can be used directly from the refrigerator. n Mix the control well by inverting the vial 8-10 times before use. n The measured values should be within the acceptable range stated in the Alere Afinion™ ACR Control Package Insert. n Consult the package insert for recommended frequency of control testing. n n  Alere Afinion™ 2 Analyzer Switch on the Analyzer and optionally enter the operator ID. Analyse patient samples and controls following the test procedure on the reverse side. n An information code might be displayed during analysis. The possible causes and actions to take are listed in the Alere Afinion™ 2 Analyzer User Manual. n Information codes specific for the Alere Afinion™ ACR assay: n n  Code  Cause  107  Creatine too high  108  B  lood in the urine detected by the Analyzer  Consult the Alere Afinion™ user instructions for complete information: Alere Afinion™ ACR Package Insert.
