INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: 1.
The patient should be safely positioned on the table in the prone position and secured accordingly.
2.
Place the armboard post into a clamp/socket that is positioned appropriately on the table siderail.
3.
Once the Prone Armboard is placed in the clamp and the desired positioning is achieved (based on the position of the armboard and clamp/socket as it relates to the orientation of the patient), you can secure the clamp/socket to the table by tightening the knob.
4.
When positioning patients in the prone positions, ensure that you protect the patient's bony prominences such as their head/face, knees, heels, and hips.
PATIENT POSITIONING: 1.
Once the patient is safely supported in the specified position, place the arm on the padded Prone Armboard. Use the straps to secure the patient's arm to the surface as needed.
2.
Fine adjustments of the height of the Prone Armboard may be made by supporting the patient's arm while loosening the post in the clamp/socket. When properly positioned, the patient's arm will rest gently on the Prone Armboard and the palm of the hand will “cup” the palm support. The arm is then balanced in a passive, anatomically correct position. Be sure to re-tighten the clamp/socket.
3.
Further adjustments can be performed by repeating the above step in addition to loosening the Pivoting Block Handle and repositioning the patient's arm accordingly. Once the desired positioning has been achieved, be sure to re-tighten all knobs and clamps/sockets.
