1.
Introduction These instructions are intended to assist you with the use and maintenance of the accessory stand. It is important that these instructions are read thoroughly before using the equipment. The device will be adversely affected and its life expectancy reduced if the following instructions are not observed. NOTE: If the accessory stand is damaged or faulty it must be taken out of use with immediate effect and the fault reported to Anetic Aid, your authorised dealer or maintenance department. The accessory stand must not be used until the damage or fault has been repaired.
1.1. Warnings & Cautions Various warnings and cautions are made throughout these operating instructions. A WARNING is given when the personal safety of the patient or user may be affected and when disregarding this information could result in injury. A CAUTION is given when special instructions must be followed. Disregarding this information could result in permanent damage being caused to the stand.
1.2. Intended Use & Contraindications The accessory stand is intended for use within a theatre environment for the storage and easy accessibility of operating theatre accessories and specific QA4 day surgery stand items. CONTRAINDICATIONS: - The accessory stand should not be used as a walking aid. - The accessory stand should not be used outside; it may be damaged by pushing it across rough or uneven ground.
1.3. Equipment Classification The equipment referenced in this document is CE marked and has been classified as a Class 1 Medical Device under the scope of both the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC and the Medical Device Regulation 2017/745.
1.4. Assembling the Accessory Stand and Putting it into Use The following list of parts has been supplied to build the accessory stand; 1 x Main Frame Assembly 1 x Base Assembly 1 x Storage Trough 2 x Lithotomy Stirrup Mounting Hooks 8 x M8 x 20mm Button Head Fixings 4 x Fixing Cover Caps 1 x Assembly Tool (5mm Allen Key) Follow these step to assemble the accessory stand, refer to fig. 1; STEP (1): Insert the main frame into the base making sure to orientate it correctly. STEP (2): Using the Allen key provided, insert and firmly tighten 4 x M8 x 20mm fixings to secure the main frame to the base. STEP (3): Insert the 4 x fixing cover caps into the base to cover the fixing holes. STEP (4): Attach the 2 x Lithotomy Stirrup Mounting Hooks onto the main frame using 4 x M8 x 20mm fixings.

The Storage Trough is suspended from the sidebar, see fig. 2. It is important that the accessory stand is cleaned and disinfected before it is put into use; refer to Section 5. Cleaning and Disinfecting.

Storage Trough NOTE: The accessory stand provides numerous storage solutions for a full range of general operating table accessories using the sidebar, the accessory box and the lithotomy hooks. 4. QA4 Leg Section Storage Sockets NOTE: The accessory stand is capable of storing a maximum of 3 QA4 leg sections in the sockets provided. The QA4 shoulder arthroscopy and retrograde products can also be stored in the sockets provided, contact Anetic Aid for further details. CAUTION: To prevent damage to the stand do not use the leg section sockets for any other purpose. WARNING: Care must be taken when positioning accessories on the stand, liability cannot be accepted for any damage to the equipment or injury to the user from improper use or overloading of the stand. 5. Braking Castors Weight Limits: Accessories placed on main frame 75kg (165lbs) Accessories placed in the storage box 25kg (55lbs) NOTE: The maximum weight limit for the accessory stand is 100kg, a combined weight of 75kg on the main frame and 25kg in the accessory box. WARNING: Do not attempt to remove the accessory box from the stand when loaded. Always seek help or advice regarding lifting and handling from your health and safety representative. Failure to do so could result in injury to the user. WARNING: Exceeding the maximum specified weight limits could result in failure of the accessory stand, failure of the accessory box, instability and injury to the user.

Manoeuvring and Handling For safety, it is recommended that the accessory stand is moved by two people, and the stand should only be pushed in the directions indicated in Fig.1. When loaded with accessories, special care must be taken when manoeuvring the accessory stand; ensure the stand is loaded correctly, as described in Section 2, and the brakes are disengaged before moving off. WARNING: Attempting to push the stand incorrectly, or when incorrectly loaded, could result in instability, tipping and injury to the user. WARNING: Extra care should be taken when traversing ramps, thresholds and stray power cables.

Using the Brakes The brakes are located on each castor of the stand and are engaged by pressing down on the lever until it locks with a ‘click’. To disengage the brake press the lever back into the neutral position. WARNING: To prevent injury to the user the castor brakes must be engaged whilst loading and unloading accessories from the stand.

Cleaning and Disinfecting It is recommended that only CE marked cleaning products are used in the cleaning of this device. Cleaning and Disinfection should be carried out by hand only. Clean the accessory stand with warm water and neutral detergent and dry the surfaces thoroughly using a soft cloth. Suitable disinfectants are: quaternary ammonium compounds, isopropyl alcohol & chlorine bleach up to 1% (10,000 ppm). Apply disinfectant by cloth, spray or disinfectant wipe. Following disinfection, wash off the all surfaces with clean warm water and dry thoroughly using a soft cloth. The product will be adversely affected and its life expectancy reduced if the following cautions are not observed; CAUTION: - Do not steam clean or jet wash any area of this device. - Do not soak or immerse the device. - Do not use concentrated bleaching disinfectant solutions, organic solvent or abrasive powders in the cleaning or disinfection of this product. - Dilute all disinfectants in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. - Disinfectant products are corrosive in nature; failure to properly wash and dry the product surface could leave a corrosive residue which may cause damage to the product.
6.
Product Maintenance The accessory stand does not require servicing. However, before use, visually inspect the stand for any loose or damaged parts and foreign bodies caught in the castors. Every six months we recommend the stand is inspected by a competent person, i.e. an Anetic Aid service engineer, to ensure that it is safe to use; contact Anetic Aid for further details. NOTE: If the accessory stand is damaged or faulty it must be taken out of use with immediate effect and the fault reported to Anetic Aid, your authorised dealer or maintenance department. The stand must not be used until the damage or fault has been repaired.

CAUTION: In line with the MHRA Device Bulletin DB2006(5), maintenance work should only be conducted by suitably trained personnel following manufacturer’s guidelines.
7.
Product Warranty The product, when new, is guaranteed to be free from defects in materials and workmanship and to perform in accordance with the manufacturer’s specification for a period of five years from the date of purchase from Anetic Aid Ltd or their approved Distributor. Anetic Aid Ltd will repair or replace, at their discretion, any components found to be defective or at variance with the manufacturer’s specification within this time at no cost to the purchaser. The warranty will take effect from the date of purchase, subject to the purchaser registering the product with Anetic Aid to confirm its receipt, installation date and product details. The warranty does not provide cover for breakage or failure due to tampering, misuse, neglect, accidents, modifications or shipping. The warranty is also void if the product is not used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions or is repaired during the warranty period by any persons other than Anetic Aid or its appointed agent. No other expressed or implied warranty is given. For details of our extended warranty packages please contact Anetic Aid or your authorised dealer.
8.
Label Identification The following list is a description of all the labels used on the stand;
Safe Working Load; indicates the safe working load of the accessory stand is 75kg (165lbs).
Do Not Push; indicates the accessory stand should not be pushed from the direction the label is attached.
Branding label.
The storage trough has the Safe Working Load limit moulded into the surface; indicates the safe working load of the storage trough is 25kg (55lbs).
