CALYPSO ASSEMBLING THE PUMPSET
1) Make sure all the parts of the pumpset are fully dry before you assemble.
2) Take the breast shell and screw it onto the bottle.
3) Place the flexible membrane pot, smooth side out, in the top of the breast shell and press down firmly.
4) Line up the mark on the lid with the mark on the breast shell. Gently turn the lid half a centimetre to close, do not over tighten.
5) Double Pumping - attach two tubes to the connector.
6) Insert the tube connector into the pump and you are now ready to start expressing.
NB see notes below about the lip valve
Single Pumping - attach one tube to the connector and ensure the other stopper is closed.
Lip Valve - Attach and remove this part carefully from the breast shell as indicated. DO NOT use a cleaning brush to clean this valve, just rinse before sterilsing. If the valve is damaged the breast pump will not work. Spare valve (s) are included with the pumpset.

OPERATING THE CALYPSO BREASTPUMP
1) Connect the adapter and the 3 pin plug together ensuring it is fully engaged. Connect the pumpset/s and the power adapter to the pump.
2) Switch on the pump by pressing the on/off switch. The green LED light will come on. The vacuum & cycles are set at the lowest intensity.
3) Cycles is stimulation mode - a baby suckles with rapid sucking motions and low suction and this causes the milk to release by stimulating ‘let down’. This is replicated by starting with a higher cycle level and a weaker vacuum. When using stimulation mode choose the levels of vacuum and cycle which suit you.
4) Vacuum is pumping mode - ONLY when ‘let down’ occurs and milk is released do you increase the vacuum and reduce the cycles. Find the most comfortable level for you. If your milk flow stops we suggest you turn the pump off, massage your breast and restart again in the stimulation mode (3).
IMPORTANT - vary the cycles and vacuum levels to maintain the milk flow and feel comfortable, as this mimics the natural sucking rhythm of the baby.
ARDO is WHO Code compliant
