The equipment must be used in accordance with these safety instructions. Anyone using the equipment must also have read and understood the instructions in this booklet.If there is anything you are not sure about, ask your ARJO representative.
Always make sure that: ❏ the equipment is handled by trained staff. ❏ the shower temperature is checked by hand before showering.
Intended use This equipment is intended for showering hospital or care facility residents under the supervision of trained skilled nursing staff in accordance with the instructions outlined in the Operating and Product Care Instructions. All other uses must be avoided. For equipment fitted with a disinfection device, such equipment must be disinfected according to the instructions established in the Operating and Product Care Instructions. All other uses of the disinfection device must be avoided. The equipment must only be used for the purposes stated, and must be installed according to the Assembly and Installation Instructions, which can only be superseded by local code.
❏ the flowmeter is correctly set before use of the disinfection system and that the bottle for the disinfectant is full. ❏ your skin and eyes are protected against concentrated disinfectant. Carefully follow the instructions on the disinfectant bottle!
The useful life of this equipment, unless otherwise stated is ten (10) years, subject to required preventative maintenance as specified in the Operating and Product Care Instructions, the Assembly and Installation Instructions and the Spare Part Catalouge.

ARJO Shower Panel BCA 1214/1212/1211-04 General The BCA 1211-04 is a wall mounted panel for use in combination with e.g. Concerto and Prelude. It is normal that a small water flow comes out in the tolilet while using the resident or disinfectant shower.*)

Lift off the resident shower handle (9). Set the temperature control (8) at the desired temperature. Direct the shower handle away from the resident. Press the trigger handle and turn on the water by turning the resident shower control (6). Adjust the temperature (8) and water flow (6). Hand test the water before commencing with the shower of the resident. After the shower, turn off the resident shower control (6).

Open the panel door (4) and check that a bottle of Arjo Disinfectant/Cleaner has an ample supply and hose is connected. Detach the red disinfectant spray handle (1) from the catch. Set the temperature control (8) as low as possible. Direct the spray handle into the sink or inside the shower cabin. Press the trigger and open the disinfectant control valve (3) as far as it will go. Check that the flow meter reading (5) is correct. If not - use a screw driver on the adjustment screw (see figure). When Arjo Disinfectant / Cleaner is used the top of the ball in the flow meter should be opposite to figure 50. Spray disinfectant over the areas to be disinfected. Use disposable cloths/paper towels to scrub the surfaces. Clean the toilet with a special toilet brush. Allow two minutes for the disinfectant to work. (For complete disinfection, read the instructions on the container). Rinse all surfaces carefully with clean water from the resident shower. (9). Wipe with a clean cloth or towel to remove excess water.

Warning! Always use protective gloves and protective eye wear when dealing with concentrated disinfectant. Avoid getting it on your skin or in your eyes. If that does happen, rinse copiously with water. If skin or eyes become irritated, consult a physician.

Before using the disinfection system check that there is concentrated disinfectant in the container.

Move the temperature control on the thermostat mixer back and forth over the whole temperature range with the control valve turned off. This prevents lime deposits and should be done at least once a day, particularly in areas with hard water.
Rinse the screen on the incoming water as described below.
A rinsing valve with a filter is mounted on each of the two water supply hoses. The filter should be rinsed in both valves as follows: •
Close the valves. The handles (red for hot water and blue for cold) should be in a cross position.
WARNING: Make sure that the valve is closed before removing the cap - especially important on the hot water supply.

Clean panel with a mild deliming agent.

Remove the cap (a) with a wrench.

Examine the panel for cracks or other damage.

Pull out the filter (b) and clean it carefully.

Check for leakage.

Visual check of hoses, pipes and connections.
Open the valve for a while. Put a vessel to catch up the waste water.

Tighten the screw carefully. Examine shower and panel hoses so that no leaks occur.
The Shower Panel has to be serviced according to a routine by ARJO authorized personel. See next page.

Preventive Maintenance Schedule

Check occasionally for new editions. The Daily Maintenance and Customer Obligations shall be carried out in accordance with the schedule below.
Mandatory maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel, fully trained in servicing using correct tools and knowledge of procedures. Failure to meet these requirements could result in personal injuries and/or unsafe equipment. The equipment is subject to wear and tear, and the following maintenance instructions must be performed when specified to ensure that the equipment remains within its original manufacturing specification.
