This manual contains important information on the proper use and maintenance of this equipment. All operators and department heads are urged to carefully review and become familiar with the warnings, cautions and instructions contained therein. A thorough preventative maintenance programme is essential for safe and assured operation. You are urged to contact the Atherton SERVICE MANAGER in your state to arrange a maintenance programme for your equipment. The Atherton range of equipment is designed and manufactured in general accordance with applicable Standards Association of Australia codes and relevant statutory requirements in all states. YOUR WARRANTY COVER All equipment manufactured and work performed by the Company is warranted to be of good material throughout, and of good careful workmanship. The Company undertakes to correct and make good any defect or defects which may develop under normal and proper use within the warranty period, which are due to workmanship, provided that the Company is notified immediately after the defect is discovered. The warranty period is twelve months and shall be from the date delivery is made, or notification to the client that delivery can be made. The Company’s liability is limited as provided in these conditions and does not extend to consequential damage, either direct or indirect, that may be caused by any malfunction of the equipment, or to any expense for repair or replacement otherwise paid or incurred without the authority of the Company. The Company does not accept liability or responsibility for the defects or depreciation caused by wear and tear, accidents, lightning, corrosion, neglect, misuse, incorrect installation not carried out by the Company’s personnel or nominees of the Company, incorrectly maintained, incorrect operation or other abnormal conditions. Should field service be required, costs incurred in traveling to and from location of equipment, including traveling time, transportation and accommodation costs, and freight charges of sending replacement parts to and from a nominated Atherton office, are borne by the buyer. All field service will be carried out during normal working hours. If warranty service is requested outside normal working hours such work will be charged at the ruling overtime rates. Requests for replacement parts or components under warranty must be accompanied with a purchase order for the replacement part or component at the ruling spare parts price cost. The defective part or component must be returned to the Atherton office handling the warranty claim complete with details of serial number, catalogue or model number or some means of verifying the unit and its delivery date. After receipt and inspection of the defective part or component the Company shall decide at its sole discretion whether a warranty claim applies. If the claim is granted a credit will be issued for the replacement amount previously charged. Material and equipment not manufactured by the Company are sold under such warranty only as the makers give the Company and the Company is able without legal expense to enforce, but are not guaranteed by the Company in any way. The warranty and warranty period does not cover such articles which are considered to be expendable, including but not limited to, gaskets, filters, bellows, globes, gauges, electrical components.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Atherton Powered Loading and Unloading Trolley provides an efficient and convenient way in which to load and unload your Atherton sterilizer. Forward and reverse movements are controlled by ergonomically positioned push buttons, with clearly marked direction arrows. A Belt drive, driven by a self-contained battery pack and recharging module, moves the loading car into and out of the sterilizer chamber. The trolley is constructed from 304-grade stainless steel and is fitted with 125mm diameter non-marking castors and one fixed 200mm dia. Wheel. Height adjustment is provided by levelling threads located on the rail frame.

12/24 V DC permanent magnet motor powering the belt drive for quiet, safe operation. High capacity (2.7 Ah) sealed lead acid batteries (complete with recharger) for extended operating time Recharging time is 6 hours (Charging is recommended at least once every 24 hour cycle) and Atherton charger only to be used. MAXIMUM LOAD WEIGHT PER SHELF 25 KG TOTAL MAXIMUN WEIGHT 75 KG – exceeding weight will shorten life span of control box.

Battery should not be run flat as this will shorten its life and will void warranty.

TROLLEY OPERATING PROCEDURE 1.

To lock trolley to sterilizer, align Trolley to sterilizer rail and push trolley slowly in towards the chamber rail until fully engaged.

2.

Locking trolley to chamber rail is automatic by means of solenoid pins engaging rail at location points. This also activates the micro switches which activates the electrical circuit. Orange LED illuminates once trolley is locked to chamber rail.

Once trolley is secured to chamber rail, drive loading carriage into sterilizer chamber by pressing the green button marked. Green LED illuminates once loading carriage located inside sterilizer chamber.

4. To unlock trolley from chamber rail, push trolley forward, then press green button marked.

5. Remove trolley from sterilizer and operate sterilizer as normal

To retrieve the loading carriage from sterilizer, repeat steps 1 and 2.Once trolley is secured to chamber rail, drive loading carriage onto trolley by pressing the red button marked Red

To unlock trolley and carriage from chamber rail, push trolley forward, then press green button marked.

Remove trolley and carriage from sterilizer.

SHELF FITTING AND REMOVAL PROCEDURE Operator to wear Protective Gloves when fitting or removing HOT shelves

1.

To fit shelf first select witch runner you require the shelf to be located on, ensuring that they are at equal heights. Then line up shelf on runners.

2.

Slide the shelf in lifting it slightly.

3.

Allow each end stop on the shelf to locate into the centre position on the runner.

4.

To remove shelf, lift up long side of shelf slightly to allow shelf end stops to disengage from the end rails.

Then gently slide out shelf.

CHARGING JUMBO CONTROL BOX SYSTEM 1. Pull lever on end of battery pack to unclip and remove battery pack from control box located on trolley.

Lever 2.

Clip battery pack onto charging unit.

When fully charged pull lever on the end of the battery pack to unclip battery pack from charger and clip battery pack back onto trolley.

HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE TROLLEY

Locking and unlocking of the trolley to the sterilizer, loading and unloading of the carriage in and out of the sterilizer is performed in the same fashion as the standard Trolley and carriage. (Please see Section 3) TROLLEY MUST ALWAYS BE LOWERED TO ITS MININUM HEIGHT BEFORE PUSHING IN ANY DIRECTION. FAILTURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN INJURY TO THE OPERATOR.

Before locking the trolley to the sterilizer the trolley must be at the right height. This can be done by two ways. Chamber Rail

Trolley Rail

1.

Use the arrow up or the arrow down buttons to adjust the height of the trolley so that the trolley rail and the chamber rail are level. Press and hold either the up button or the down button depending on the direction you wish the trolley to travel. Once you have reached the required height release the button. Up

2.

You can preset one of the Memory buttons so that when you push the desired memory button the trolley will automatically raise or lower to the correct loading height.

Loading height may vary depending on load weight.

How to preset your memory buttons 1.

Press and hold either the up button or the down button depending on the direction you wish the trolley to travel. Once you have reached the required height release the button.

2.

Press and hold the Store button for 30 seconds.

3.

Then press the desired memory button for 2 seconds. The height that the trolley is currently at has now been stored in the memory button that you have selected.

4.

Repeat the above process for the other memory buttons

Using the Memory buttons Push and hold the desired memory button. The trolley will automatically travel and stop at the preset height for that button.

TROUBLE SHOOTING 7.1 No power to trolley 1.

Check that the emergency stop button is not depressed.
