Generic Stainless Steel Surgeons Control Panel Manual
Before Opening the Panel: WARNING! The panel must only be opened by a qualified person due to mains voltages been present inside the panel. Access to panel is via the rear access door, use the key provided to operate the key locks. On completion of any work ensure the door is fully closed and locked.
CLOCKS
Time of Day Clock. (Analogue) The Time of day clock shows hours and minutes with a sweeping second hand. The clock is powered by the mains supply (unless otherwise stated) via a suitable fuse (see wiring diagram). The time adjustment is made by adjusting the control knob on the rear of the clock, which is accessed by opening the panel door. (See opening the panel door)

VENTILATION Condition Operating Indicator (Green Lens) IP Rating 65 Indicator shows that the ventilation plant is running normally – See ventilation plant documentation (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) Indicator is switched via volt free contacts. Condition Background Indicator (Amber Lens) IP Rating 65 Indicator shows that the ventilation plant is running in setback– See ventilation plant documentation (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) Indicator is switched via volt free contacts. Ventilation Low Airflow Indicator (Red Lens) IP Rating 65 Indicator shows that the ventilation plant has a fault – See ventilation plant documentation (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) Indicator is switched via volt free contacts. Ventilation Change Filter Indicator (Red Lens) IP Rating 65 Indicator shows that the ventilation plant filter require replacement – See ventilation plant documentation (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) Indicator is switched via volt free contacts. Condition Operating / Background Switch IP Rating 65 Toggle switching the ventilation plant to running normally in daytime mode or background in night time unused mode – See ventilation plant documentation (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) Indicator is switched via volt free contacts.
Temperature and Humidity Displays (Free Issue Item) Displays current temperature and humidity in theatre this is an analogue system that is supplied 0-10v signal via the ventilation system or BMS. (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) Temperature Set Point Adjuster (Free Issue Item) 10k variable resistor connected to the ventilation system that varies the temperature from low to high temperatures and allows the desired temperature to be set. (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) Temperature and Humidity Sensor (Free Issue Item) Samples & measures the temperature & humidity from the operating theatre. (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation DC Power Healthy Indicator (Green Lens) IP Rating 65 Indicator shows that the DC supply is Healthy and that the theatre battery supply is OK. Charger Fault Indicator.(Red Lens) IP Rating 65 Indicator shows that the Charger Voltage has fallen below 26V indicating the batteries are not charging at their recommended charge voltage has failed and that the theatre operating lights are running on batteries: Note this is only 'On' when the main lamp switch is switched on. Battery Disconnected Indicator.(Red Lens) IP Rating 65 Indicator shows that the battery supply has failed and that the theatre operating lights are disconnected from the batteries should they be needed in mains failure : Note this is only 'On' when the batteries voltage has fallen below 19 Volts.
IPS (Isolated Power Supply) Alarm Panel. ( Free Issue Item Supplied by Others. ) The IPS system monitors the theatre power supply status. When equipment is plugged into an electrical outlet the system will monitor the load and the quality of the electrical insulation. Should the system become overloaded or have a faulty piece of equipment plugged in, then the alarm will sound (The alarm can be muted via the mute button) and the indicator will light. The faulty piece of equipment should be removed from the electrical supply as soon as possible and reported for repair.) (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) AGSS Gas Scavenging Panel ( Free Issue Item. ) (Supplied by others – See supporting documentation) General Lighting Switches The general lighting switch is to switch the general lighting on / off in the operating theatre. This is a single pole two way maintained rocker switch and rated at 10amps wired to terminals and connected to ballast system external to the surgeons control panel.
Theatre in Use Push Button(Green)IP Rating 65 Push the button to illuminate the ‘Theatre in Use’ over door sign. Note: The Theatre in use switch is fed 240v ac via its own independent supply terminals (and not from the supplied internal mains isolator) with 240v ac output to independent terminals (see wiring diagram.) X- Ray Viewer. X Ray viewer screen made from opal 5mm acrylic sheet. Each viewer is back lit by 2 x 36W fluorescent tubes. Each viewer is independently controlled by an On/Off dimming controller switch. Press the momentary switch once to switch on and once to switch off and press and hold to control the dimming intensity. Each X -Ray viewer is provided with film retaining clips at the top.
Single 13 Amp Un switched Sockets 13amp Un switched socket outlets are supplied via a 240v ac feed internal to the control panel. Intercom Fitted but supplied and wired by others. Film Clip To hang A4 pieces of paper or film.
Replacement Indicator Bulbs The replacement bulb is a 24v T5.5 filament lamp which is replaced by removing the front lens and pulling out the lamp. (Optional tool available.) The replacement bulb for the theatre in use switch is a BA9.
