INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE CRYO TWEEZERS
Main Body
Narrow Neck Point
1. BASIC OPERATING PRINCIPLES The Brymill Cryo Tweezers have been designed for the localized treatment of Skin Tags. The correct technique for freezing Skin Tags is to freeze only the fleshy part protruding from the surface of the skin taking care not to extend the ice formation to surrounding base tissue, since damage to the tissue surrounding the base could result in pigmentation change. This may occur if trying to freeze a skin tag using open spray techniques. By using the Brymill Cryo Tweezers you can control freezing easily and accurately. The extra bulk engineered at the ends allow for a longer freeze duration compared with standard tweezers or forceps. The narrow neck prevents the cold from the Tweezer Head transferring along the Main Body part of the Tweezers. 2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Decant a small quality of Liquid Nitrogen into the Tweezer Cup*. 2. Insert the tweezers into the Liquid Nitrogen only as far as the Narrow Neck Point indicated above. This point is located approximately ½” (12mm) behind the Tweezer Head. 3. Keep the Tweezer Head immersed in the Liquid Nitrogen until the rapid boiling has stopped. This may take approximately 30 seconds. 4. Remove the Cryo Tweezers from the Liquid Nitrogen and wait approximately 30 seconds until the Tweezer Heads turn frosty white. 5. Carefully grasp the end of the skin tag between the Tweezer Heads. 6. With the Tweezer holding the skin tag pull the tweezers away slightly to extend the skin tag. 7. Continue holding the Skin tag for 5 – 10 seconds or until the frosting has extended to the base of the skin tag. 8. Release the skin tag and allow it to thaw. 9. At the end of the procedure simply allow any remaining Liquid Nitrogen in the Tweezer Cup to evaporate. 3. DECONTAMINATION Thorough cleaning and then disinfection of the Cryo Tweezers and Cup using an Alcohol wipe prior to use is recommended between patient episodes. 3.1 Recommended Disinfectant: Alcohol wipes. Safety Note – Always refer to the Health & Safety Data Sheet for appropriate protective clothing before using any Disinfectants. 3.2 Procedure Wearing appropriate protective clothing ensure that all surfaces are thoroughly wiped using an Alcohol wipe. Ensure all surfaces are carefully hand-dried using a dry cloth. Safely dispose of alcohol wipes. CAUTIONS Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for the safe handling of Liquid Nitrogen. (Provided by Gas Supply Co.) DO NOT move the skin tag when it is frozen. *If you require a replacement Styrofoam Cup simply Google Dart 4J4
