STARTING THE SYSTEM WITH POWER ON
SOFTWARE UPDATES T
Configuring Auto Position Names Auto Positioning lets you pre-set equipment locations for exams. There are 128 available Auto Positions for the CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution system. You can associate an unlimited number of procedures with these positions.
Use this method to turn on the equipment in normal, daily operation: Press the blue Power On/Standby button on the front of the Control Box. The system is ready for use within a few minutes
STARTING THE SYSTEM WITH POWER OFF Follow these instructions. The system is ready for use within a few minutes: 1.
Make sure all applicable switches are on.
2.
If a UPS is installed, on the front of the PDU, press and hold the (|) button on the UPS panel and immediately release the button when you hear a long (three-second) beep.
To configure for Auto Position: 1.
Make sure the Enable Auto Position check box is selected under Key Operator Functions > System Configuration > Display Configuration > DR Display Tab.
ROUTINE SHUTDOWN Use this method to turn off the equipment in normal, daily operation:

Select a detector by touching the Detector box and selecting Wall Stand, Table, or none.

Press the blue Power On/Standby button on the front of the Control Box.

Select the Auto Position button from the button list.

Select Turn Edit On to change the name.
The Operator Console computer indicates that it is turning off; power is removed from the system within a few minutes.

Type a new Auto Position Name.
6.
Select Save Changes.
7.
Select Turn Edit Off.
8.
Select Save Position. This procedure saves the name of the Auto Position. The actual configuration and hardware location is at the Overhead Tube Crane. Instructions for doing this are located in the CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution Hardware Guide.
To Configure a Grid Type: 1.
To define a grid type, go to Key Operator Functions > System Configuration > Grid Type Configuration.

Select the parameter to change and enter the new number with the keypad.
To add a grid selection to a View: 1.
Go to Key Operator Functions > System Configuration > View Configuration

Select the View you want to use. The row will be highlighted.

Select the Grid Type pattern icon you want. Select from Near, Far, Multifocal, None, or Unknown.
NOTE:
START- UP TROUBLESHOOTING Check that the UPS located at the bottom front of the PDU is turned on.
3. At the Control Box, wait 30 seconds and press the blue Power On/Standby button once. The green LED blinks and the system initializes.
TURNING OFF THE SYSTEM COMPLETELY 1.
At the Control Box, press the blue Power On/Standby button once. Allow the WINDOWS software to shut down. This may take 3 - 5 minutes.

Press the OFF button on the UPS Panel. Verify that all of the LEDs on the UPS are Off.
3.
Turn Off all the switches on the PDU, turning off the S1 switch last.
Check that power is supplied to the PDU. Check the switches on the PDU. Press the Power On/Standby button on the Operator
Control Box to shut down the system. When complete, press again to restart the system. Check that all Emergency Stop buttons are in the “out” position. See Chapter 4, Troubleshooting, in your CARESTREAM
DRX-Evolution Hardware Guide for information on specific problems and Recommended Actions.
Several LEDs flash, indicating that the UPS is performing start-up self-tests. When the selftests are complete, you can hear a series of four beeps.
