Controls and connections 1 Friction adjustment knob for locking the OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope in position on the support arm. 2 Dust cover Remove this cover before mounting the binocular tube or another module. 3 Securing screw Screw in the securing screw as far as it will go after you have inserted the binocular tube or another module in the mount on the OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope. 4 Magnification changer Use this knob to manually set the magnification to one of five clickstop positions (γ = 0.4x, γ = 0.6x, γ = 1.0x, γ = 1.6x, γ = 2.5x). 5 Cover You can remove this cover and mount a handgrip for microscope guidance instead. 6 Objective lens Objective lenses with different focal lengths are available, see ordering data. The focal length approximately corresponds to the working distance. 7 Holes for mounting accessories The underside of the OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope contains two holes for mounting accessories (e.g. handgrip, dovetail mount). 8 Video connection socket for the system cable to the video camera (if integrated, option). 9 Light guide socket This socket is used to direct the light from the illumination system to the OPMI pico colposcope. 10 Filter selector Turn this selector to swing filters into the illumination beam path. The selector has three positions: no filter, green filter, orange filter. The green filter enhances contrast. 11 Support arm This arm is used to mount the OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope on the suspension system.

Preparations for use
Attaching the equipment Mounting the tubes, eyepieces and the objective lens •
Give securing screw (2) a few turns to loosen it.
•
Remove dust cover (3) and store it in a safe place.
•
Place binocular tube (4) on the OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope and firmly tighten securing screw (2). The straight binocular tube is shown here as an example.
•
You can install further accessories between the binocular tube and the microscope body. Lock these units in position in the same way using securing screw (2).
•
Insert eyepieces (5) as far as they will go in the mounts provided on the binocular tube. The magnetic coupling reliably secures them in position.
Note: If you wish to use a camera system, we recommend installing an eyepiece with a reticle to aid focusing (see accessories). The retrofitting of a reticle to an eyepiece can only be performed in the factory or by our service staff. Always install the eyepiece with the reticle in the binocular tube on the same side as the documentation equipment. •
Screw objective lens (1) into the microscope body and tighten it firmly.
Caution: Before every use and after re-equipping the instrument, make sure that binocular tube (4) is securely locked in position. Make sure that securing screw (2) and objective lens (1) have been firmly tightened!

Preparations for use
Mounting the coupling To be able to use the OPMI pico as an OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope we recommend you to move the working range of the OPMI pico on the S100 suspension systems by about 115 mm downward. You can achieve this by using K 0/120 coupling (7). Note: – When mounting the OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope on an S100 suspension system (1), please observe the instructions in the "S100 suspension systems" manual. – Adjustment screw (2) on suspension arm (1) of the S100 suspension system only acts as a brake and not as a lock. For mounting, proceed as follows: •
Tighten adjustment screw (2) on the S100 suspension system.
•
Slightly lubricate shafts (6) (e.g. with instrument grease or vaseline).
•
Insert shafts (6) in the appropriate mounts. Screw in securing screws (3) and (5). Use a suitable tool (e.g. hex key or screwdriver) to firmly tighten securing screws (3) and (5).
•
Securing screw (3) contains a hex socket head screw (4) which is an additional securing screw. Firmly tighten hex socket head screw (4) using a suitable hex key.
Note: After you have mounted the OPMI pico (SAD) colposcope, suspension arm (1) may move downward. Prevent the OPMI pico colposcope from knocking against any objects. Note: To change the OPMI pico colposcope or equipment configuration, proceed in the reverse order. Please observe the following points:
G-30-1453-en
•
Move suspension arm (1) into its top position.
•
Tighten adjustment screw (2)(braking function).
•
Tightly hold the OPMI pico colposcope while loosening securing screws (3) and (5).
