INSTALLATION
ErgoWave® Intersegmental Traction Table
INSTALLATION 1. The power cord is separate from the table. The power cord has an IEC connector on one end and the appropriate plug on the other end. Verify that the plug is correct for your area. If you received the incorrect plug, contact your dealer or the Chattanooga Group service department. 2. The electrical connection to the table is fused with 5 mm x 20 mm 250V 2A type T fuses. If the fuses need replacing, replace only with the same type fuses. 3. Check the voltage on the serial decal located at the head end of the table before plugging the power cord into a receptacle. A licensed electrical technician should make any wiring changes. 4. Plug power cord into the appropriate receptacle, as indicated on the serial decal, either 100 -120V (110V) or 220 -240V (230V) AC. DO NOT attempt to use Direct Current. Follow the procedures indicated in the Precautionary Instructions. DO NOT attempt to use the unit if it is not properly grounded. 5. Check table operation by turning the timer knob clockwise past 5 minutes. Observe the roller movement to ensure they are working properly. 6. The motor is equipped with thermal overload protection. If the motor overheats it will shut off to prevent damage. If this happens, turn the timer back to 0 minutes to avoid motor start up when it cools down. After the motor cools down it will reset itself. Contact a qualified service technician if this is a frequent problem. 7. Verify raising and lowering of rollers. The adjustment handle is located at the head end of the table. Release the locking mechanism by depressing the trigger switch. Adjust roller height by pulling up or pushing down on the handle. The decal and pointer to the left of the slot indicate the height setting. Check for proper locking when trigger is released. 8. The unit is now ready to use. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
ErgoWave® Intersegmental Traction Table
OPERATING CONTROLS 1. Selecting a time on the Treatment Timer will activate the rollers. 2. To adjust the roller height locate the handle at the head end of the table. Release the locking mechanism by depressing the trigger switch. Adjust roller height by pulling up or pushing down on the handle. The decal and pointer to the left of the slot indicate the height setting. When the trigger is released, the height adjustment will lock.
PATIENT TREATMENT OPERATING CONTROLS 1. The ErgoWave is designed to apply controlled rhythmic pressure through the action of rotating rollers. The pressure may be varied by changing the height of the rollers. The machine is designed primarily for treatment of the musculoskeletal area of the back, but it can also be used as a general-purpose table. 2. Activating the Treatment Timer begins roller movement. Turn the timer past 5 minutes to ensure proper operation. A typical treatment time will range between 8 and 12 minutes. 3. Lower the rollers to "1" on the height indicator. 4. With the unit in operation, raise the rollers until the patient pressure toleration level is reached, which understandably, varies from patient to patient. It is the licensed practitioner's obligation to determine the correct pressure to use on each specific case and condition. Many practitioners use a setting of 1½ to 2½, the middle of the normal pressure levels. 5. As the roller moves up the back in a general treatment, some areas may seem to get more pressure than others. The patient can be moved up or down or to one side of the table to better center the point of interest. 6. Once these adjustments are complete, set the desired treatment time; normal treatment time is 8 to 12 minutes.
