DESCRIPTION
In conjunction with a sterilization container and lid, the HandStand Sterilization Tray is used for the transportation and storage of the HandStand Traction Tower prior to, during, and after steam sterilization. This tray was qualified for use with the Aesculap® full size container with solid bottoms with retention plates (REF JK442) or CONMED Container (REF INST-C352), and appropriate lid and filters. Reference Aesculap’s container, lid and filter IFU for further details. Although this tray is reusable it will not be serviced or repaired.
MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS

INTENDED USE
The HandStand Sterilization Tray is intended to organize the HandStand Traction Tower components to be steam sterilized by the healthcare provider.
WARNINGS
1. This tray is not designed for in situ cleaning of contents. Remove all components contained in the tray for cleaning of device and tray prior to sterilization and reuse. 2. Do not overload the insert tray (only load HandStand Traction Tower). Overloading may inhibit steam flow, cause excessive drying times, and make containers too heavy to safely handle. Follow AAMI/AORN and hospital guidelines for tray loading. Container not to exceed 25 lbs (11.3 kg). 3. Immediate contact after sterilization may cause burn. Ensure that the device is cool before handling to avoid burns.

Prior to use, cleaning and sterilization of device, remove all protective packaging when applicable, from device. Inspect device after sterilization to ensure there is no damage. Do not use device if damaged. Do not drop sterilization tray or components. Do not use strong disinfecting solutions to sterilize the tray or device. Tray and device should be cleaned using neutral pH-balanced detergent only. 5. Do not use abrasive cleaners, metal brushes or abrasive cleaning pads. Use of abrasive products can cause permanent damage to tray. Use of abrasive cleaners or pads will result in warranty exclusion.
DISINFECTION, CLEANING AND STERILIZATION GUIDELINES REFER TO INSTRUMENT DISINFECTION GUIDE FOR DISINFECTION INSTRUCTIONS. Inspection of the Sterilization Tray The HandStand Sterilization Tray can be used indefinitely if not damaged. To ensure the performance of this product, a thorough inspection must be conducted prior to every use. Do not use tray if damaged in any way. Inspection should be conducted by trained personnel in the following manner: 1. Inspect tray to ensure it is free from any damage such as sharp edges, dents, cracks, broken handles, or broken containment brackets. 2. Inspect tray to ensure it is free from corrosion and pitting.

CONMED HandStand™ Sterilization Tray MANUAL CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Follow universal precautions for protective apparel when handling and cleaning contaminated equipment. 2. Remove inner tray from the container, and all components from the tray, prior to cleaning the tray, including all process indicators and disposable locks. 3. Thoroughly clean the inner tray by wiping with a clean, soft, non-abrasive cloth, dampened with a neutral pH-balanced detergent. 4. Rinse the inner tray under running tap water (minimum temperature 25°C/77°F) using a minimum volume of 18 liters of water for a minimum of 3 minutes as required to remove all traces of blood and debris. 5. Ensure inner tray is visibly free of detergent or cleaning residues. 6. Rinse the inner tray under running deionized water (minimum temperature 25°C/77°F) using a minimum volume of 10 liters of water for a minimum of 2 minutes as required to remove detergent residuals or debris. 7. Visually inspect the inner tray to ensure that there is no sign of visible debris left on surfaces including, but not limited to perforations, instrument brackets and handles. 8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 as needed until inner tray is visually clean. 9. Dry surfaces using a clean, lint free towel.
AUTOMATED CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Rinse the tray under running water (minimum temperature 25°C/77°F) using a minimum volume of 18 liters of water for a minimum of 3 minutes as required to remove all traces of blood and debris. 2. Load the tray in washer/sanitizer and operate according to machine manufacturer’s instructions. It is recommended to use a neutral pH cleaner. Only use approved solutions for cleaning sterilization tray according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. 3. Run washer/sanitizer according to manufacturer’s specifications. A dry cycle is recommended but not required.
CLEANING COMPONENTS PRIOR TO LOADING IN STERILIZATION TRAY
1. Remove components from the sterilization tray for cleaning. 2. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to adequately clean and dry the HandStand™ Traction Tower (HS-TT) prior to reprocessing, using steam sterilization.
PREPARING TRAY FOR STERILIZATION
1. Load components inside tray according to Figure 1 and 2 below. Brackets secure components in place during transportation and sterilization.

STEAM STERILIZATION

The center of the tray is the most challenging sterilization area and should be used for placement of biological and chemical indicators.
PACKAGING AND LABELING
1. Upon initial use, this device should only be used if the original packaging and labeling are intact. 2. If packaging has been opened or altered, contact your local CONMED representative, or in the U.S. contact the Customer Service Department (1-866-426-6633).
