WARNING:
Possible Explosion Hazard - This instrument is not explosion proof in the presence of flammable anesthetics.
WARNING:
Internal Electrical Shock Hazard - This unit does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Do not remove instrument covers. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
WARNING:
Trace Gas Hazard - When using the optional Gas Module, a health hazard exists when trace amounts of vaporized anesthetic agents are chronically inspired by operating room personnel. See Appendix A in NFPA 56A on Inhalation Anesthetics. During any procedure where such agents are employed, the Gas Module exhaust output should be connected to a medical gas-scavenging system.
WARNING:
Do not use this monitor during MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanning. Induced current could potentially cause burns. Accuracy of measurements on this unit and the MRI unit may be also be affected.
WARNING:
When attached to other products, insure that the total chassis leakage currents of all units (total) do not exceed 100ua.
WARNING:
For continued protection against a fire hazard, replace all fuses with the specified type and rating. See the Passport Service Manual, P/N 0070-00-0420.
WARNING:
Do not use in presence of flammable gases.
WARNING:
Do not clean monitor while it is on and/or plugged in.
WARNING:
This unit uses a common isolation path for the ECG leads and the invasive pressure channels. Do not connect any non-isolated accessories to either of the inputs when connected to a patient, as this may compromise the safety of the unit.
WARNING:
Ensure that the conductive parts of ECG electrodes do not contact other conductive parts including earth ground.
WARNING:
Observe extreme caution when a defibrillator is used on a patient. Do not touch any part of patient, table, or monitor when a defibrillator is in use.
WARNING:
Sidestream waste material and CO2 filter should be treated as biohazard material.
WARNING:
Route cables neatly. Ensure cables are away from patient’s neck and not on the floor in the way of hospital personnel.
WARNING:
Thoracic respiration measurement may interfere with some pacemakers. Refer to pacemaker’s manual
WARNING:
Do not incinerate battery, possible fire or explosion may occur.

General Description
The Datascope Passport XG Monitor is a 3 or 5 Lead ECG, Invasive (optional) and Noninvasive Blood Pressure, Pulse Oximeter, Respiration Rate, Temperature, Mainstream CO2 (optional) and Sidestream CO2 (optional) monitoring device. It is designed for use in hospital units at bedside, during special procedures and during transport. The Passport XG Monitor can be mounted on a monitor stand, a wall mount bracket, a bed rail or operated as a tabletop instrument. The Datascope Passport XG provides a 21.1 cm x 15.8 cm EL or color LCD display for viewing nonfade waveforms and digital information. The front panel keypad is provided as the user interface. Digital displays are provided for Heart Rate, Invasive BP1 and BP2 (optional), Non-invasive Blood Pressure (NIBP), Pulse Oximetry (SpO2), Respiration Rate, Temperature, and CO2 (optional). The built-in digital recorder (optional) provides hard copies of delayed ECG, Invasive Blood Pressures 1 and 2, NIBP, SpO2 Pleth, CO2, Respiration, Temperature and Tabular Trend Information. The Passport XG can be connected to an external remote color monitor (optional). See “Rear Panel” on page 2-13 for details. The Passport XG has the optional capability of interfacing with Datascope’s VISA Central Station, DPD Defibrillator or Gas Module. The optional Gas Module can be used on an anesthesia cart, mounted on a monitor stand or wall mount. The Passport XG is powered from an external AC to low voltage DC power supply or internal batteries. Different line voltages and connector types are accommodated by separate AC to DC power packs. A set of two batteries is included as standard equipment. The monitor can operate with either battery removed so that fresh batteries can be installed during monitor operation. The optional Gas Module is equipped with it’s own AC power supply. A special AC plug allows the user to plug both the Passport XG and Gas Module into one AC plug outlet. CAUTION:
1-2
Use only Datascope supplied power cords or if a substitute is necessary use only hospital grade power cords.
