Turn on the Emprint™ generator

Insert bag spike into the port on a 1 L or larger sterile saline IV bag
Open the clear pump head door

Connect reusable cable to generator
Gently squeeze the sides of the chamber until half full of saline

Close the pump head cover
Allow pump to prime antenna with fluid until no more air bubbles in tubing or IV

10 Insert orange tubing section with arrow direction matching arrows on pump
Locate reusable cable (not sterile)

Set generator to desired power setting

blue to blue connection
Attach the antenna connector to the reusable cable
Set generator to desired time setting
black to black connection

Remove antenna from packaging

Remove the white cap from the IV bag spike
Activate pump action by pressing the Pump Activation Start/Stop Switch

Push START/STOP button to start ablation
ALERT PROCEDURES ALERT
CAUSE
SOLUTION
Antenna Not Identified
Meaning: This warning is activated when an antenna is not properly connected. Generator Response: Generator will not start Microwave power.
Check connections between antenna and generator. Replace antenna if a secure connection doesn’t resolve alert status.
Reflected Power Trip
Meaning: Reflected power is unusually high. Indication that device was activated in the presence of air. Generator Response: Microwave power delivery is disabled until the condition is resolved.
Ensure antenna is placed in tissue before activation. If antenna is properly placed, this may indicate antenna is damaged and should be replaced before proceeding. Clear the alarm by pressing RESET and continue the procedure.
Antenna Temperature Limit Exceeded
Meaning: Internal antenna temperature has exceeded limit. Generator Response: Microwave power is disabled until internal temperature drops below 45 C.
Ensure cooling system is turned on and saline flow is not obstructed. Clear the alarm by pressing RESET and continue the procedure.
RTP Trip Alarm
Meaning: RTP shutoff feature was enabled and measured probe temperature has met or exceeded 45 C during ablation. Generator Response: Microwave power delivery is disabled.
When the measured probe temperature is below 45 C, clear the alarm by pressing RESET and continue the procedure.
General Warning
Meaning: The generator has detected a fault. Generator Response: Power is disabled on this trip.
Restart generator. If issue persists, power off generator completely for 10 minutes. If issue persists after 10 minutes, power off and consult Medtronic sales and service department.
External Control
Meaning: External control can only be accessed and activated by removing the external control panel and is for use by Medtronic service personnel only.
Manual Operation
Meaning: The Manual operation function can only be accessed and activated by removing the cover on service port and is for use by Medtronic service personnel only.
Switch is Closed
Meaning: The switch is closed indicator illuminates while the start/stop button or footswitch is actively being depressed.
