Warranty Information Applies to all models described in this manual Fortress or its appointed agents or dealers, will warrant this Table/Plinth for parts and labour only against defects in manufacture for a period of 7 years(Frame only) and 5 Years(Motor Only) from date of purchase. All other parts including Upholstery, Hydraulic Actuators, Gas Struts, Electric Actuators and Hand/Foot Controls will be covered by a 12 month warranty period from date of purchase. All table and plinths must be serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule by authorised service agents, otherwise the warranty may be invalidated. The warranty excludes misuse or abuse of the table or any other reason not directly associated in manufacture. Fortress or its agents and distributors shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever, for compensation or damage to any person occasioned by this table for any loss, injury, or any damage occasioned by or as a result of the misuse or abuse of this table. Regular maintenance and servicing of this table is a requirement for its functionality and purpose of use (please refer to the Maintenance / Technical Section for details).

General Information Congratulations on the purchase of one of the Classic / Euro range of Treatment Tables. If these operating instructions are adhered to, this couch will give many years of outstanding performance. This Operators Manual presents all the relevant operator information for your Treatment Table. All Treatment Tables are designed to provide a comprehensive range of features and offer exceptional value for money. The design principles employed ensure that the product is extremely robust, long lasting and provides a safe and ergonomically sound environment in which the practitioner can treat his or her patients. The table you have purchased is the result of many years of research into the needs of the practitioner and the development of the most effective way of satisfying those needs in a treatment table. The best quality materials are utilised in the construction of the table and the latest industry proven fabrication methods are used. If you, as a user of the Treatment Table and this manual, have any relevant comments or questions, on either the equipment or the manual, your communication with us would be welcomed. You may contact us as detailed on the back cover of this brochure. Not following these instructions could invalidate the warranty.

Warnings & Cautions • Ensure electric couches are not used in the presence of flammable gases such as an anaesthetic agent. • Do not sit on the ends of the head section or the foot section of the couches as this may cause damage to the gas strut and gas strut release bar. • DO NOT EXCEED the Maximum Safe Working Load of 225kg (496 lbs) - which must be distributed evenly across the working surface. • Do not concentrate uneven weight on either side of the couch. • When the plug is disconnected, this acts as a disconnect device. • Use only accessories that have been designed or approved for use with this couch. • Children must not play with the couch at any time. • Adequately supervise children in the proximity of the couch. • After moving the table, ensure the wheels / castors are locked / retracted before applying therapy to patients. • After moving the table to a new location, check the table legs are clear of power cables before retracting / locking the wheels / castors. • Ensure table mechanism / moving parts are clear of cables and wiring. • To avoid injury, keep patient and practitioner limbs clear of mechanism – especially when in motion. • When applying electrotherapy, ensure patient avoids direct contact with the metal frame, to avoid the possibility of small earth leakage currents. • Be familiar with the location of the table controls to avoid inadvertent actuation of the table sections, gas struts or table linear actuator.

Installation Remove the cardboard packaging and re-cycle. The upholstery is covered by a thin plastic film, this may be removed by carefully pulling from the sides. On the electrically operated couches a small mesh basket is fitted to the base of the couch. Remove the power supply from the packaging and fit the hand switch or foot switch to the power supply as shown in fig 1. Fig.1

Now connect the electric Actuator in the same way as shown in fig 2.

Insert power cable as shown in fig 3.

Now place the power supply into the wire basket at the base of the couch as shown in fig 4.

Operating the Couch 1 Wheel System Lever down = wheels retracted and OFF Lever up = wheels activated and ON WARNING This couch is not designed for patient transportation Ensure wheels are retracted prior to patient transfer or treatment Disconnect the electric lead prior to re-locating the couch, ensuring the lead is not trapped in the mechanism

2 Adjustable Feet 1 Ensure the couch is off the wheels 2 Adjust the foot by turning clockwise or anti-clockwise until the couch is stable 3 Secure the foot by tightening the nut until it locks against the threaded cap WARNING Ensure wheels are retracted before adjusting the adjustable foot

3 Height Adjustment - Electric Elevation Wrap Around Bar (Side movement) Wrap Around Bar (Up/down movement)

4 Head and Foot section adjustment 1 To raise the backrest or foot section, simply grasp the release lever towards the upholstery and adjust the backrest to the angle desired 2 Releasing the lever automatically locks the section at that angle. 3 To lower, grasp the lever again, and lower the backrest or foot section to the required angle. 4 Releasing the lever automatically locks the section.

Cleaning Instructions WARNING Disconnect the couch from the mains supply (if applicable, model dependant) prior to carrying out any cleaning process. A. Remove to suitable area before cleaning B. Use a solution of warm water and neutral detergent C. Clean hand or foot controls (Electric models only) with alcohol wipes D. Ensure couch is dry before use E. Wash hands thoroughly when cleaning process is complete If decontaminating the couch follow above instructions using a dilute Hypochlorite and warm water solution. (Mixed at 10,000ppm).

Maintenance & Scheduled Servicing It is strongly recommended that a program of regular maintenance and servicing is carried out for this equipment. A hospital biomedical engineering dept or third party service organisation nominated by the manufacturer or distributor should be capable of performing the necessary testing and documentation to comply to the relevant standards of the medical device directive. A program of electrical safety inspections is highly recommended to confirm continued operator and patient safety.

WARNING Disconnect the couch from the mains power supply prior to carrying out any maintenance. All electrical maintenance should be performed by a suitably qualified person. BLUE or BROWN wires must not be connected to any earth terminal. MAINTENANCE A. A visual inspection should be carried out daily prior to use. B. Routine servicing or repair must only be performed by suitably qualified people. C. Regular servicing should be carried out a minimum of every six months or more frequently if the couch is in constant use. D. Look for any visual signs of damage. Ensure all nuts, bolts and other fasteners are present and fitted where expected. If loose (can be undone by hand), re-tighten using suitable tools – but taking care to not over tighten as this could cause binding, juddering, identifiable by a likely noise. E. Upholstery fixings should be checked regularly and tightened if loose. DO NOT USE PRODUCT IF ANY UPHOLSTERY FIXING SCREWS ARE MISSING! F. Check gas struts operate smoothly and correctly throughout all ranges of movement. The upholstered section should lock once the release lever is no longer operated. G. Check hydraulic pump (hydraulic variant only) for smooth operation and any signs of leakage. H. Check hinge pins are secured correctly by the e clips. IF THESE ARE MISSING DO NOT USE THE COUCH! ELECTRIC MODELS ONLY I. On electric models, check the power cable and air pipes on hand and foot switch controls, looking for any cuts, abrasions or any other deterioration that may have occurred and replace if necessary. J. Ensure that the mains power supply plug is attached securely to the motor. K. Check mains plug connections are tight and the correct fuse is fitted.
