Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) syringe infusion pump Quick Reference Guide
This Quick Reference Guide describes the main operations of the Agilia SP PCA WiFi used with the PCA infusion modes. It does not replace the Instruction for Use provided with the device that we recommend be read carefully.

Installation Attaching the pump to its support 1. Push the blue release button to unfold the fixing clamp. 2. Orientate the fixing clamp to the desired position. 3. Screw clamp until fully secured to its support. 4. Insert the key and turn it anti-clockwise to lock the pump to its support.
Plug power cord. The Power Supply Indicator lights up
Installing a syringe Connect the extension set to the syringe according to local practice. Prime and check that there is no air in the syringe or extension set. IMPORTANT: Ensure that the patient is not connected.
Insert the key and turn it anti-clockwise to open the protective cover. Place the syringe into the cradle, the flanges inserted in the provided slot. Secure the syringe with the syringe barrel clasp. Move the plunger driver gently until it makes contact with the plunger head. Close the protective cover by pushing it firmly. Keep the key in a safe place.

Powering on 1. Press the ON/OFF
key. An auto-test checks the functionality of the pump.
2. Immediately after powering on the pump, make sure that all LED lights blink.
Selecting a profile • Select the desired profile with the arrow keys. NOTE: profiles preceded by a light house contain drug libraries . • Confirm your choice by pressing

• If required enter the 4 digit PCA code.
Selecting a syringe • Press to confirm the displayed syringe, or (Edit) to change it and access the syringe list.
Setting drug concentration • Press the arrow keys to select concentration unit. • Confirm by pressing

• Press the arrow keys to adjust the concentration of the drug. • Confirm by pressing

Selecting the PCA mode • Press the arrow keys to select the required PCA mode • Confirm by pressing

Programming a PCA bolus (if part of the PCA mode) • Press the arrow keys to adjust the PCA bolus dose. • Confirm by pressing

NOTE: the corresponding volume of bolus is automatically calculated and displayed. • Press the arrow keys to adjust the Lockout time in minutes. • Confirm by pressing

Programming a continuous rate (if part of the PCA mode) • Press the arrow keys to adjust the Continuous rate. NOTE: in dose mode, the corresponding flow rate in mL/h is automatically computed and displayed. • Confirm by pressing

Setting the cumulated limits (if part of the PCA mode) • Press the arrow keys to adjust the Duration over which the cumulated limits will be computed. • Press the arrow keys to adjust the Maximum dose allowed over the duration previously adjusted. • If required use the arrow keys to adjust the Maximum number of patient boluses allowed. • Confirm by pressing

Starting a PCA infusion - Check that there is no air in the syringe or in the extension set. - Connect the extension set to the patient’s access device. - Check the integrity of the fluid delivery path. • Press or,

Administering a PCA bolus (patient bolus) The patient can self-administer a PCA bolus if allowed by the PCA infusion programmed on the pump. NOTE: check handset connection to the pump. • Give the handset to the patient and explain to the patient how to trigger a bolus. • A sound signal is emitted whenever the bolus button is pressed.
Monitoring the running PCA infusion After starting a PCA infusion, you can monitor the infusion on the screen. - Drug concentration (if any), - BOLUS ONLY or Current rate (if any), - Availability of the PCA bolus (if configured). One green LED lit: infusion started but not currently infusing.
• When a PCA bolus is being administered, the remaining bolus dose is displayed in dose and in %. Green LEDs flashing regularly to indicate infusion in progress.

Displaying PCA history Press the PCA history

PCA infusion data is saved on the pump for the last 24 hours. During PCA infusion, or after it has ended, you can display information on PCA treatment received by a patient. In this example, over the last 4 hours: - The total dose is 15.9 mg, - 10 PCA boluses have been administered, - 14 PCA boluses have been requested. • Press progress.

Summary information on the PCA treatment administered is displayed: - Total dose infused, - Number of PCA boluses and clinician boluses, - Time since the beginning of treatment. NOTE: to clear the total dose, STOP the infusion and enter the passcode first.
Reviewing the program during cycle
• Press (Review) to access program review during PCA cycle.

Modifying a running PCA infusion At any time during a PCA infusion, you can modify the infusion settings. You must enter the passcode for PCA therapy if prompted. • Press the STOP PCA treatment.

Light indicators Power Supply Indicator: - lit when connected to AC, - unlit when disconnected. Battery Charge Status Indicator: - blinking when charging, - permanent lit when fully charged. Infusion started: constant green. (Infusion started in PCA bolus only mode) Infusion in Progress: flashing green. Low-Priority Alarm: constant yellow. Medium-Priority Alarm: flashing yellow.
