Agilia® VP MC Quick Guide Connected Generation
NOTE: This Quick Reference Guide is not intended to be comprehensive instructions for the set-up and operation of the Agilia VP MC and Agilia VP MC WiFi Volumetric Infusion Pumps.

INSTALLATION Secure the pump stability(e.g IV pole fixing) Plug in power cord. The Power Supply Indicator lights up
INSTALLING THE ADMINISTRATION SET Lift door lever to open the pump door and install the set. IMPORTANT: Ensure that the patient is not connected. NOTE: The pump automatically powers on when the door is opened. If not, press the <ON> key. Insert the Green Connector Insert the Blue SafeClip Check that the tube is inserted into the left tube guide

General Operations 1. Selecting a Profile Press <ON/OFF> key to power ON the pump. Use arrow keys to select desired profile. Press <OK> to confirm the profile.
Press <OK> to confirm the drug library version, or <C> to change the profile.
2. Selecting a Drug
Press the arrow keys to scroll to the drug’s first letter and press <OK>. NOTE: Drugs are sorted alphabetically by the first letter. Press the arrow keys to scroll to the drug name, and press <OK>. Press <OK> to acknowledge the clinical advisory message and continue programming, or <C> to change the drug.
Programming an Infusion by Flow Rate This section describes the programming of an infusion with the «Volume/Rate» infusion mode. Press the arrow keys to program the VTBI (Volume to be infused). Press <OK>.
Press the arrow keys to program the the flow rate. Press <OK>. Infusion Duration (Dur.:) in hours and minutes is automatically calculated based on flow rate and VTBI. Programming an Infusion by Dose Selecting the Drug Concentration When infusing Dose Rate in Basic Profile, you have to choose the way you will set concentration for example: --mg/mL to set 10mg/mL OR --mg/--mL to set 1000mg/100mL

Press the arrow keys to select the concentration. Press <OK> to confirm. Selecting the Patient’s Characteristics Press the arrow keys to enter the patient’s weight or body surface area. Press <OK> to confirm.
Programming the Infusion When using Dose in Basic profile, you must define the unit before setting the dose rate.
Press the arrow keys to program the VTBI. Press <OK> to confirm.
Press the arrow keys to program the dose. Press <OK> to confirm. The infusion duration (Dur.:) is automatically calculated based on the VTBI and the dose. Press <OK> to confirm infusion settings.
Starting an Infusion
Connect the administration set to the patient’s IV access device using aseptic technique and according to your healthcare facility policy.

Press <start> to start the infusion, or <C> to modify the infusion settings. Functions During Infusion 1. Stop infusion Press <STOP> key: After 2 minutes, an alarm is generated as a reminder that the infusion is stopped. Confirm or modify settings prior to restarting the infusion. 2. Rate Titration (while infusing)

Press the arrow keys to modify the flow rate or dose. Press <OK> to confirm. Accessing the Menu Functions Press <MENU> key to access menu items, listed on left side of display. Use arrow keys to select menu item. Press <enter> to activate menu function. Follow prompts on the screen.
Administering a Bolus: Direct or Programmed Bolus There are two ways to deliver a bolus during an infusion: 1. Direct Bolus During the infusion, press <BOLUS> key. Press <bolus> to confirm access.
Press and hold <BOLUS> key. To stop the bolus, release the <BOLUS> key: The infusion resumes its previous rate.
2. Programmed Bolus Press <BOLUS> key. Press <prog>.

Press the arrow keys to program the bolus volume or dose, and press <OK>. Press the arrow keys to program the bolus duration, and press <OK>: The flow rate is calculated automatically.

Press <start> to start the bolus. After bolus is delivered the infusion resumes its previous rate. Interrupting a Programmed Bolus

Press <STOP> key. Press <no> to return to the infusion. Press <start> to continue the bolus.

Secondary (Piggyback) Infusions Connecting the Secondary Line You can only add a secondary infusion when the primary infusion is delivered by flow rate. The secondary infusion drug must be programmed by flow rate.

Prime the secondary administration set . Lower the primary container and hang the secondary approximately 12 inches (30 cm) higher than the primary container. Press <STOP> key to pause the primary infusion. Using aseptic technique, connect the secondary line to the upper access port on the primary line. Accessing Secondary Infusion Press <Pressure Menu> key. Press <enter>.
Press <OK>.
Programming Secondary Infusion Select a secondary drug and press <OK>.
Press the arrow keys to program the secondary VTBI, and press <OK>. Press the arrow keys to program the secondary flow rate and press <OK>. Press <OK> to confirm secondary infusion parameters.
Secondary Infusion Start Confirm secondary bag and clamp position. Press <start> to start the secondary infusion.
Information Pri VI displays the total primary volume infused since it was last cleared. Sec VI displays the volume infused since the start of the current secondary infusion. End of Secondary Infusion When the secondary infusion is complete, the return to the programmed primary infusion is done automatically (short beep) or manually (press <start> required). Ensure that the primary line is open.
Powering off Press <STOP> key to stop the infusion. Close the roller clamp. Press and hold <ON/OFF> key until the pump powers off.
