Initiating Treatment This procedure card is not intended to replace the advice or training from your physician or PD Nurse. Please refer to the Liberty® Cycler User's Guide for detailed information on device description, instructions, contraindications, warnings, and precautions. With this and all other peritoneal dialysis procedures, always maintain aseptic technique. This information is provided for quick reference only. Please follow the directions as they appear on the Liberty cycler screens. Wait for your prompts to the next step.

• Make sure the cycler is plugged into a grounded outlet
• To make any changes to the options or hardware choices, make them now by pressing My Settings • Return to Ready screen and make sure your prescription information is correct
• Gather supplies - Solution bags (Check S.C.A.L.E.) - Liberty cycler cassette - stay•safe® organizer - stay•safe caps - Drain line(s) or drain bags - Hand sanitizer
• Turn on your Liberty cycler using the white power switch on the back of the cycler
• Press OK to start treatment
• Mask and wash hands

• Prior to insertion, inspect cassette tubing and film for possible damage
When directed:
When directed: • Break cones on the heater and solution bags with fingers or cone breaker tool
• If using the IQdrive™, insert it into the USB Port located on the back left side of the Liberty cycler when facing the front of the cycler
• Carefully insert the top portion of the cassette first, then press the lower portion in until it snaps securely and close the door • Insert the blue patient line PIN connector (trigger) into the stay•safe organizer • Press Next
• Connect
RED line to heater bag
• Connect WHITE lines to additional supply bags • Connect bag option
GREEN line to last
• Connect YELLOW line to drain line or drain bags • Ensure heater bag is placed evenly on heater tray/scale • Press Next
• Bend cone back and forth until completely separated • Clamp unused lines • Press Next

• Verify all solution bag connections match those on the screen
• Verify that the blue patient line clamp is open
• Press Next
• Press Next to prime the blue patient line
• When priming is complete, inspect the blue patient line to ensure it is completely filled with fluid
• The cycler will now flush the solution/drain lines
• Press Back to prime again, as necessary, or when using integrated set • Close the blue patient line clamp and press Next

• Enter YES if you filled your abdomen with solution without using the Liberty cycler (manual exchange)
• Once you are connected, open both catheter and blue patient line clamps
• During Drain 0, hold the visualization chamber upside down to flush out air
• Enter the fill volume from your manual exchange. Press Next to continue.
• Press Next to continue
• Place the visualization chamber in front of words or numbers, as directed by your clinic, to check for fluid clarity
• Your treatment will now begin
• Review the settings just entered and then press Next again
