Disassembly
1. Press the canister release button, then pull the canister backward to remove it from the breathing system (BS).
2. Hold the bellows housing and turn counterclockwise to remove it.
3. Press the breathing system release button, then pull the BS out from the machine.

4. Bellows disassembly: •
Press the latches to release the bellows rim (A).
•
Remove the rim with the bellows from the base (B).
•
Remove the bellows from the rim.
5. Remove the pop-off valve (C). Press the latches to remove the rim latch (D).
6. Remove the U-cup seal (E). Pull the bellows base (F) up to remove it.

7. Turn over the breathing system with the lower base facing up. Turn counterclockwise to remove the two patient port connectors (G).
8. Remove the APL valve, the check valves, and the check valve covers: •
Loosen the screw (H) under the base, then pull the APL valve out.
•
Turn the check valve covers (I) counterclockwise to remove them.
•
Take out the two check valves (J).
9. Pull upward to remove the BTV switch (K) and the breathing system manifold (L). Remove the membrane (M) on the manifold port.

1. Clean the breathing system parts with water. 2. Use a water-soluble disinfectant and antiseptic gauze to wipe the valve ports. 3. Autoclave parts marked 134°C. Note: The whole breathing system except for the APL valve is autoclavable.

Refer to the User’s Reference Manual for more detailed instructions on the breathing system cleaning and sterilization. 10. Remove Part 2 (the inspiration valve) and Part 1 (the expiration valve): •
Pull Part 2 to the left, then take it out from the valve port.
•
Pull Part 1 to the right, then take it out from the valve port.
11. Canister disassembly: •
Open the canister cover locks to remove the cover.
•
Remove the cover seal.
•
Discard the used absorbent properly.
•
Remove the two foam filters in the canister.

1. With port A facing up, insert Part 1 (the expiration valve) into the left hole of the BS base. Push the valve slightly to left, then push it forward to secure. Note: Tab B of the valve should be locked into part B of the BS base when correctly installed.
2. With port C facing up, insert Part 2 (the inspiration valve) into the right hole of the BS base. First push the valve to the right and then forward. Note: Tab D should be locked into the BS base when correctly installed.
3. Put the membrane on Part 3 (the BS manifold).

4. Install Part 3 into the BS base, push down to seal.

5. According to the indicating arrow, install the BTV switch to Part 3. Push down the BTV switch to seal.
6. Install the two check valves to the BS ports. Cover the check valve covers, turn clockwise to tighten. Note: Make sure the O-rings on the check valve covers are properly in place before installing.

7. Note: Turn the APL valve knob counterclockwise to adjust the valve to the minimum position before installing. Align the screw mounting hole (E) with the screw (F), install the APL valve to the BS base, tighten the screw to secure it.
8. Install the patient port connectors (G) onto the backside of the base. Note: Turn the connector clockwise till a click is heard and the connector is locked by the tab (H).
9. Align the arrows on the bellows base and the BS base, then press the bellows base down till it is completely seated in the base.

10. Attach the U-cup seal. Note: The U shape groove of the seal should be facing up.
11. Press the rim latch slightly toward the center and seat it into the bellows base. The rim latch should be locked by the tabs (I) when correctly installed. Install the pop-off valve (J) to the bellows base.
12. Wrap the bellows around the rim. Place the bellows with the rim over the bellows base, noting the alignment of the port connection on the underside. Press the bellows top down till a click is heard.

13. Install the BS to the machine.

14. Put the bellows housing on the bellows base and press down. Turn the housing clockwise till it is tightly locked onto the base. Note: The scales on the bellows housing should be facing out.
15. Put the two foam filters into the canister. Add proper absorbent to the canister.

16. Place the canister cover seal into to the cover groove. Note: Evenly press down the cover seal to obtain a good seal.

17. Put the cover onto the canister and then lock the cover locks.
18. Install the canister assembly to the breathing system.
