Routine Pump Rotor Cleaning
Caution: Never use organic solvents (e.g., acetone), acids, bases, chlorine solutions, phenolics, or soap to clean any part of the pump rotor. Caution: Do not use oil, grease, or any material that leaves a deposit when servicing the pump rotor assembly. Caution: Do not immerse the pump rotor assembly in warm/hot water or place directly under a spray of warm/hot water. For routine cleaning, the user should: 1. Unplug the device before performing any cleaning. 2. Visually inspect the pump rotor and remove any residue on a routine basis. Do not clean the pump rotor if there is any visible damage or deterioration, and contact your local Haemonetics service representative. 3. Remove the pump rotor from the housing, using the hexagonal head wrench to remove the pump screw. 4. Immerse a lint-free cloth or gauze sponge in clean, cold, fresh water. Squeeze out excess water so the cloth or sponge is not dripping. Wipe or scrub the rotor to remove any residue from the rollers. Repeat as needed to ensure all visible residue is removed. 5. Dry with a lint-free cloth or gauze sponge (or compressed air, if available). 6. Clean and dry the pump well using the same method. 7. Ensure all of the rollers spin freely and place the pump rotor back into the pump well, aligning the cross pin in the rotor with the pump shaft. 8. Place the pump screw back onto the rotor and tighten with the hexagonal head wrench.
