Before placing the patient on the bed and therapeutic mattress

Carry out individual risk assessments including but not limited to: •
risk of entrapment,
•
potential falls from the bed,
•
patient in state of confusion,
•
patient’s learning ability,
•
children (aged less than 12 or under 1.46 m tall),
•
persons lacking the mental capacity to recognize risky actions,
•
unauthorized persons,
•
bed/mattress combination.

Installation Place the rolled up ClinActiv® +/ClinActiv® + MCM™ therapeutic mattress on the top of the bed and unroll it. Check that the foot symbol on the cover is at the foot of the bed. The CPR valve must be positioned at the foot end of the bed and must remain accessible for use in the event of emergency deflation. The mattress must be correctly attached and centered on the sleep surface. The straps must be attached to the mobile parts of the bed and the attachments and power cord must be secured so as not be become entangled in the mobile parts.

Mobilizing the patient Optimal therapeutic benefits: Adjustable head section raised to between 0° and 45°. The performance of the mattress diminishes at angles greater than 45°.

To transfer the ClinActiv® + from one bed to another: • Never leave the patient on the mattress. • Make sure that the bed chassis brakes are applied to prevent any accidental movements. • Do not walk on or run over the power cord.
The ClinActiv® + and ClinActiv® + MCM™ mattresses (203 x 92 x 18 cm) are compatible with a number of beds including: • Evolution, • Hill-Rom AvantGuard 1200, • Hill-Rom AvantGuard 1600.
