Best practices for cleaning electric connectors of Sapphire accessories ALWAYS follow the instructions provided in the maintenance section of your Sapphire Infusion Pump user manual or service manual. Use healthcare-grade cleaning solutions that are recommended for cleaning. DO NOT use chemicals that can damage electrical components and may cause instruments to not operate as intended or may void your warranty. This guideline provides recommended instructions for appropriate cleaning of the Sapphire infusion pump accessories electrical connectors. Cleaning the electrical connectors of all accessories is restricted to use of 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) ONLY

Place the accessory on a clean and stable surface

Apply IPA 70% lightly to a cloth or sponge

3 Squeeze the cloth / sponge before cleaning, so it won’t drip on the accessory to be cleaned

Swab in a rotational manner for at least 3 bi-directional rotations (clockwisecounterclockwise)*

Take caution and avoid dripping the reagent into the pins or pores of the electrical connector

*Be careful not to apply excessive pressure on the connector during swabbing

Allow the IPA to air dry for at least 3 minutes before connecting to power
