This instruction manual is intended to serve as an aid in the proper setup, installation, and operation of the CLEARVISION® II system. All essential details of the equipment and all actions required on your part are clearly presented and explained. Vorsicht: Bei perforiertem Pumpenschlauch besteht die Gefahr, dass Flüssigkeit in das Gerät eindringt! Pumpenschlauch in die Rollenpumpe einlegen und die beiden Konnektoren in die Befestigungsnuten eindrücken. Hinweis: Lassen sich die Konnektoren nicht in die Befestigungsnuten drücken, wurden diese nicht korrekt auf den Schlauch geschoben. Ggf. Konnektoren in Richtung Pumpenschlauch ganz aufschieben. Hinweis: Da der Pumpenschlauch aufgrund anwendungsbedingter Abnutzung undicht werden kann, empfehlen wir den Schlauch nach 5Anwendungen oder max. 8 h Betriebszeit auszuwechseln. (Bestell-Nr. 40 3341 80, Packung zu 25 Stück)

Caution: If the pump tubing is perforated, there is a danger of liquid penetrating the unit! Place the pump tube around the reel and secure the adaptor’s pump tube connectors in the notches. Note: If the connectors cannot be pressed into the fastening grooves, they have not been attached correctly to the tube. If necessary, attach the connectors on the pump hose more securely. Note: As the pump tube may develop a leak due to application wear, we recommend changing the tube when it has been used 5 times or operated for max. 8h.

Advertencia: ¡En caso de perforarse el tubo exible de la bomba existe el riesgo de que penetre líquido en el aparato! Coloque el tubo exible de la bomba en la bomba de rodillos y presione ambos conectores en las ranuras de jación. Nota: Si los conectores no se dejan presionar en las ranuras de jación, signica que éstos no fueron colocados correctamente en el tubo. Si es necesario, enchufe los conectores totalmente en dirección al tubo exible de la bomba. Nota: Dado que el tubo exible de la bomba, debido al desgaste dependiente de las condiciones de uso puede volverse inestanco, recomendamos cambiar el tubo exible cada 5aplicaciones u 8 horas de servicio como máximo. Hebel zum Einfahren der Pumpenrollen  in senkrechte Lage hochdrücken, der Pumpenschlauch wird arretiert.

Raise the pump reel lever  to the vertical position to lock the pump tube.

Hinweis: Ohne arretierten Pumpenschlauch kann die Pumpe nicht gestartet werden

Note: If the pump tube is not locked in place the pump cannot be started.

Schlauchset entnehmen Hebel  in die Waagerechte nach unten klappen. Pumpenschlauch aus der Rollenpumpe entnehmen.

Removing the tubing set Press lever  down to the horizontal position. Remove the pump tube from the reel pump.

Der Zulaufschlauch des Silikon-Schlauchsets 403341 40 (siehe Pfeil) ist mit einem Einstichdorn und einer Schlauchklemme versehen. Schlauchklemme schließen. Einstichdorn in die dafür vorgesehene Stelle am Spülbeutel oder Spülasche einstechen. Hinweis: Falls eine Spülasche verwendet wird, darauf achten, dass die Flasche belüftet wird, da sonst die Spülleistung nachlässt.

The inow tube of the silicone tubing set 40 3341 40 is equipped with a puncturing pin and a tube clamp (see arrow). Close the tube clamp. Insert a piercing punch into the intended position on the irrigation bag or irrigation bottle. Note: If an irrigation bottle is used, please ensure that the bottle is aerated. Otherwise irrigation performance decreases.

El tubo exible de entrada del set de tubos exibles de silicona 40 3341 40 está provisto de un punzón y de unas pinzas (véase echa). Cierre las pinzas del tubo exible. Introduzca el mandril de punción en la posición prevista en la bolsa o botella de solución de irrigación. Nota: La botella de irrigación se debe desairear antes de su uso, pues en caso contrario se produciría una disminución de la potencia de irrigación.

Presione la palanca para soltar los rodillos de la bomba  hacia arriba hasta su posición vertical, el tubo exible de la bomba queda bloqueado. Nota: Sin estar bloqueado el tubo exible de la bomba, no se puede poner en marcha la misma.

Schlauchset für Einmalgebrauch (mtp Schlauchsets 031229-10, Packung zu 10 St.) Schlauch in die Schlauchhalterung einlegen. Der Zulaufschlauch des Schlauchsets Spülung ist mit einem Einstichdorn und einer Schlauchklemme versehen. Schlauchklemme schließen. Schutzkappe vom Einstichdorn entfernen. Einstichdorn in die dafür vorgesehene Stelle am Spülbeutel oder Spülasche einstechen.

Disposable irrigation tubing set (mtp tubing sets 031229-10, pack of 10) Insert the tube into the holder. The inow tube of the tubing set for irrigation has a puncture needle and a tube clamp. Close the tube clamp. Remove the protective cap from the puncture needle. Insert the puncture needle into the intended position on the irrigation bag or irrigation bottle.

Hinweis: Bei Verwendung einer Spülasche die Belüftungskappe am Einstichdorn öffnen (siehe Pfeil), um die Spülasche zu belüften.

Note: If using an irrigation bottle, open the ventilation cap on the puncture needle (see arrow) in order to ventilate the bottle.

Set de tubos exibles desechables (Set de tubos exibles mtp 031229-10, envase de 10 unidades) Coloque el tubo exible en el soporte al efecto. El tubo exible de entrada del set de tubos exibles de irrigación está provisto de un punzón y de unas pinzas para tubos. Cierre las pinzas para tubos exibles. Retire la caperuza protectora del punzón. Introduzca el mandril de punción en el lugar previsto al efecto en la bolsa o en la botella de solución de irrigación. Nota: Si se utiliza una botella de irrigación, abra la caperuza de aireación en el mandril de punción (véase echa), a n de airear la botella de irrigación.

Warnung: Das Schlauchset muss vor jeder Untersuchung entlüftet werden, um etwaige Luftblasen zu entfernen. Hinweis: Auffanggefäß für austretende Spülüssigkeit bereithalten. Schlauchklemme öffnen. Fußschalter solange bis zum Anschlag nach unten drücken (Stufe 2), bis das Schlauchsystem komplett entlüftet (d. h. blasenfrei) ist. Schlauchklemme schließen.

Warning: The tubing set must be vented before every examination to remove any air bubbles. Note: Have a collecting container ready to catch irrigation liquid as it runs out. Open the tube clamp. Press the footswitch down fully (position2), until all the air has been let out of the tubing system (i.e. no bubbles). Close the tube clamp.

Cuidado: El set de tubos ha de desairearse antes de cada intervención, con el n de eliminar posibles burbujas de aire. Nota: Hay que preparar un recipiente para recoger el líquido de irrigación cuando éste salga. Abra las pinzas para tubos exibles. Presione el interruptor de pedal hacia abajo hasta el tope (nivel 2) hasta que el sistema de tubos esté completamente desaireado (es decir, sin burbujas). Cierre las pinzas para tubos exibles.

Optik in Spülschaft 72x/2816x einführen

Hinweis: Wenn die Optik beim Einführen in den Schaft »klemmt«, bitte keine »Gewalt« anwenden, da sonst die Optik beschädigt werden kann. Den Spülschaft prüfen lassen (er kann z. B. verbogen sein oder Verengungen aufweisen); ggf. den Schaft zur Prüfung an KARL STORZ schicken. Schaft und Optik sind mit einer »0«- oder StrichMarkierung versehen. Beim Zusammensetzen darauf achten, dass die Markierungen gegeneinander liegen (Strich-Markierung und »0«-Markierung in Übereinstimmung). Optik in den Schaftverschluss einführen.

Note: If the telescope ‘jams’ when inserting it in the sheath, do not use force, as this may damage the telescope. Check the irrigation sheath (it may be bent or constricted); if necessary, send the sheath to KARLSTORZ for inspection. Sheath and telescope are provided with a ‘0’ or line mark. Make certain during assembly that the marks are aligned with one another (line mark and ‘0’ mark are lined up). Insert the telescope into the sheath lock.

Nota: Si el telescopio se “atasca” al introducirlo en la vaina, le rogamos no aplicar ningún tipo de “fuerza”, dado que el telescopio puede resultar deteriorado. Haga vericar la vaina de irrigación (puede haberse curvado, p. ej., o presentar estrechamientos); si es necesario, envíe la vaina a KARL STORZ para su vericación. La vaina y el telescopio están provistos de una marca “0” o una línea. Al efectuar el montaje preste atención a que las marcas queden enfrentadas (línea y marca “0” coinciden). Note: When using a suction and irrigation sheath (see ‘Recommended accessories’), screw the LUER lock connector of the suction tube onto the suction connection of the irrigation sheath.

Linsenreinigungsmodus starten (Stufe 1)

Starting the lens cleaning mode (position 1)

Iniciar el modo de limpieza de las lentes (nivel 1)

Betätigen des Fußschalterpedals bis zum ersten Widerstand (Pedal halb hinuntergedrückt =Stufe 1) startet die Spülpumpe im Linsenreinigungsmodus. Hinweis: Dieser Linsenreinigungsmodus wurde ab dem Softwarestand »E« von 3 fest eingestellten Zyklen auf 1 Zyklus begrenzt. Solange das Pedal in Stufe 1 betätigt wird, wird periodisch Spülüssigkeit durch den Spülschaft zum Objektiv gepumpt und um Restüssigkeiten zu vermeiden durch kurze Drehrichtungsumkehr wieder abgesaugt. Wird das Fußschalterpedal in Stufe 1 kürzer als der minimal ablaufende Spül-/Absaugvorgang betätigt, so wird dieser Zyklus trotzdem abgeschlossen. Wird das Fußschalterpedal in Stufe 1 länger als der minimal ablaufende Spül-/Absaugvorgang betätigt, so werden die Spül-/Absaugvorgänge bis zum Loslassen des Pedals fortgesetzt. Die Länge des Zyklus ist in der Stufe 1 fest im Gerät einprogrammiert. Eine Veränderung der Rücklaufzeit am Drehknopf 2 hat deshalb in der Stufe1 keinerlei Einuss. Mit Loslassen des Fußpedals wird immer der aktuell gestartete Zyklus vollständig abgeschlossen, bevor die Pumpe stoppt.

To start the irrigation pump in the lens cleaning mode, press the footswitch pedal until you meet resistance (pedal semi-depressed =position1). Note: This lens cleaning mode has been reduced from 3 preset cycles to 1 cycle as of version 'E' of the software. As long as the pedal is pressed to position 1, irrigation uid will be pumped intermittently through the irrigation sheath to the lens and extracted by short reverse rotation to prevent residual uids. Even if the footswitch pedal is pressed to position 1 for a period shorter than the minimum irrigation/ suction procedure, the cycle will still be completed. If the footswitch pedal is pressed to position1 for longer than the minimum irrigation/suction procedure, irrigation/suction will continue until the pedal is released. For position 1, the duration of the cycle has been pre-programmed into the device. For this reason, changing the reverse rotation time with the rotary knob 2 while in position1 produces no effect whatsoever. When the footpedal is released, the current cycle will always be completed before the pump stops.

Accionando el interruptor de pedal hasta el primer punto de resistencia (pedal presionado a medias =nivel 1) la bomba de irrigación arranca en el modo de limpieza de las lentes. Nota: Desde la versión “E” del software, este modo de limpieza de las lentes ha sido limitado de 3 ciclos ajustados jos a 1 ciclo. En tanto esté accionado el pedal en el nivel 1, a través de la vaina de irrigación se bombea periódicamente líquido de irrigación hacia el objetivo y, a n de evitar líquido residual, con un breve cambio de dirección de giro se vuelve a succionar. Si el pedal se acciona en el nivel 1 durante menos tiempo del requerido para el procedimiento mínimo de irrigación/succión, entonces este ciclo se completa de todos modos. Si el pedal se acciona en el nivel 1 durante más tiempo del requerido para el procedimiento mínimo de irrigación/succión, estos procesos continúan hasta que se suelte el pedal. La duración del ciclo para el nivel 1 está programada ja en el aparato. Por ello, una modicación del intervalo de retroceso en el botón giratorio 2 no inuye de ningún modo en el nivel 1. Al soltar el pedal, siempre se concluye por completo el ciclo actual iniciado antes de que la bomba se detenga.

Beim Zurückschalten von Stufe 2 nach Stufe 1 wird der Absaugvorgang regulär beendet und danach die Pumpe gestoppt. Hinweis: Für einen erneuten Start (Stufe 1 oder Stufe 2) muss das Pedal vollständig losgelassen werden.

Changing modes during operation If you switch to position 2 during the rst cycle in the lens cleaning mode (position 1), the rst period nishes properly before the device switches to the irrigation mode (position 2). If you switch to position 2 after the end of the rst cycle in the lens cleaning mode (position 1), the device switches to the irrigation mode (position 2) immediately after the last suction procedure. When switching back from position 2 to position 1 the suction procedure nishes normally and then the pump stops.

Cambiar los niveles durante el servicio Si en el modo de limpieza de las lentes (nivel 1) se conmuta al nivel 2 mientras transcurre el 1er ciclo, entonces se concluye correctamente el 1er intervalo y a continuación se conmuta al modo de irrigación (nivel 2). Si en el modo de limpieza de las lentes (nivel 1) se conmuta al nivel 2 después de concluir el 1er ciclo, entonces se conmuta al modo de irrigación (nivel2) inmediatamente después del último proceso de succión. Assemble tubing set as described in section ‘Preparing the tubing set’ on p. 11, making sure that connections are secure to prevent leakage in the connector area.

Monte el set de tubos exibles como se indica en la sección Preparación del set de tubos, pág. 11. Al hacerlo, preste atención a una correcta conexión, a n de evitar que se produzcan fugas en la zona de los conectores.
