Zweckbestimmung

The KARL|STORZ Touch|Screen monitor 20 0905 19 is used for the visualization of the functions and the control of KARL|STORZ medical devices which have been designated as compatible. The KARL|STORZ (TFT) 19" Touch|Screen monitor 20 0905 19 must only be operated with the power supply 20 0905 82 (MEDICAL POWER SUPPLY) provided. Only this combination of monitor and power supply is approved for use in the medical environment. The flat screen monitor and the power supply must not be used outdoors or in areas where there is an explosion hazard.

Intended use

Der KARL|STORZ Touch|Screen Monitor 20 0905 19 dient der Darstellung der Funktionen und Steuerung von KARL|STORZ als kompatibel ausgewiesenen Medizinprodukten. Der KARL|STORZ 19" Touch|Screen Monitor 20 0905 19 darf nur in Verbindung mit dem mitgelieferten Netzteil 20 0905 82 (MEDICAL POWER SUPPLY) betrieben werden. Nur in dieser Kombination ist er für den Einsatz im medizinischen Bereich zugelassen. Flachbildschirm und Netzteil dürfen nicht im Freien und nicht in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen eingesetzt werden.

User qualification

The Touch|Screen monitor may only be used by persons who have an appropriate specialized qualification and have been instructed in the use of the KARL|STORZ AIDA® or SCB system.

7.3.2 Ajuste mecánico del monitor

Bei dem Touch|Screen Monitormodell 20 0904 08 kann der Winkel zwischen Monitor und Standfuß verstellt werden. Neigung: -4° bis 20° Drehung in Standard- und Portraitmodus: 0° bis 90°. VORSICHT: Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass Sie den Neigungsgrad nicht bis zum äußersten ausnützen, da es sonst unter Umständen dazu führen kann, dass Sie Schäden am Flachbildschirm oder am Standfuß verursachen. Bevor Sie Ihren Bildschirm in den Portraitmodus drehen, neigen Sie den Bildschirm bis ca. 15° nach vorne bis zum Anschlag, damit die Ecken des Bildschirms beim Drehen nicht an den Standfuß stoßen.

The tilt angle between the monitor and the stand of the Touch|Screen monitor model 20 0904 08 can be adjusted. Tilt: -4° to 20° Pivot in standard and portrait mode: 0° to 90°. CAUTION: Please ensure that the tilt angle is not fully inclined as this may cause damage to the ƃat screen monitor or stand. Before you pivot the monitor into portrait mode, tilt it forward as far as it will go to a 15° angle (approx.) so that the corners of the monitor do not touch the stand when pivoted.

En el caso del monitor de pantalla táctil modelo 20 0904 08, se puede ajustar el ángulo entre el monitor y el pie soporte. Inclinación: -4° hasta 20° Rotación en modo estándar y modo retrato: 0° hasta 90°. ADVERTENCIA: Procure no utilizar excesivamente el grado de inclinación, pues podría producir deterioros en la pantalla plana o en el pie soporte. Antes de girar la pantalla en el modo retrato, inclínela hacia delante aprox. 15°, hasta el tope, para evitar que las esquinas de la pantalla choquen contra el pie soporte al girar.

Das 9-polige RS|232 Kabel in Anschlussbuchse|6 am Monitor einstecken und durch Drehen der Schrauben am Stecker im Uhrzeigersinn sichern. Das andere Ende des Kabels in die serielle Schnittstelle COM1 am OR1™ control NEO bzw. COM4 am AIDA control NEO einstecken. HINWEIS: Bitte hierzu auch die KARL|STORZ SCB control NEO Gebrauchsanweisung beachten. HINWEIS: Bei Ihrem SCB-System ist der entsprechende Treiber bereits installiert. Für das AIDA compact NEO-System siehe Abschnitt 7.6 ,P-Cap-Treiber installieren‘. HINWEIS: Verwenden Sie für die Touch Screen-Funktionalität nur den Anschluss über RS|232.

Plug the 9-pin RS|232 cable into the connection socket|6 on the monitor and secure it in place by turning the screws on the connector in a clockwise direction. Plug the other end of the cable into the serial interface COM1 on the OR1™ control NEO or COM4 on the AIDA control NEO. NOTE: In addition, please also observe the KARL|STORZ SCB control NEO instruction manual. NOTE: The corresponding driver is already installed in your SCB system. For the AIDA compact NEO system, see section 7.6 ‘Installing the P-Cap driver’. NOTE: For touch screen functionality, use the connection via the RS 232 only.

Der Drehregler 1 ist ein benutzerfreundliches Multifunktionsinstrument. Er befindet sich hinter der Indikator LED Anzeige, auf der rechten unteren Seite des Touch|Screen Monitors. Der Drehregler lässt sich auf 3 Arten betätigen: • nach unten drehen (im Uhrzeigersinn): OSD Menü: nach oben/rechts bewegen, (Wert)|erhöhen • nach oben drehen (gegen Uhrzeigersinn): OSD Menü: nach unten/links bewegen, (Wert)|verringern • (Knopf) drücken: - Kurzes Drücken = schaltet Display ein - Kurzes Drücken = schaltet Display aus - Doppeldrücken = aktiviert das OSD Menü (siehe S. 17) OSD Menü: (Einstellung) übernehmen – bestätigen – speichern HINWEIS: Das OSD Menü verschwindet nach 3 Sek., wenn keine Eingaben gemacht werden.

The rotation regulator 1 is a user-friendly multifunctional instrument. It is located behind the LED display indicator on the lower right-hand side of the Touch Screen monitor. The rotation regulator can be moved in 3 ways: • rotate downwards (in a clockwise direction): OSD menu: move upwards/to the right, increase (value) • rotate upwards (in a counterclockwise direction): OSD menu: move downwards/to the left, reduce (value) • Press (button): - Press shortly = Display switches on - Press shortly = Display switches off - Press twice = Activates OSD menu (see page 17) OSD menu: Apply (setting) – confirm – save NOTE: The OSD menu will disappear after 3|seconds if|no entries are made.

El regulador giratorio 1 es un instrumento multifuncional de fácil manejo para el usuario. Éste se encuentra detrás del indicador LED, en la parte inferior derecha del monitor de pantalla táctil. El regulador giratorio dispone de 3 tipos de accionamiento: • Rotación hacia abajo (en sentido horario): Menú OSD: movimiento arriba/derecha, aumentar (valor) • Rotación hacia arriba (en sentido antihorario): Menú OSD: movimiento abajo/izquierda, disminuir (valor) • Presión (botón): - Presión corta = Conexión de la pantalla - Presión corta = Desconexión de la pantalla - Doble presión = Activa el menú OSD (véase pág. 17) Menú OSD: aceptar – confirmar – guardar (ajustes) NOTA: El menú OSD desaparece tras 3 seg. si no se realiza ninguna acción.

Power supply ON/OFF Press the rotation regulator in order to turn the device on if it is switched off (LED is not lit). In order to turn the device off, press the rotation regulator again.

Die LED Anzeige leuchtet grün, wenn der Bildschirm in Betrieb genommen wurde und das Netzkabel richtig angebracht ist. Die LED Anzeige leuchtet orange, sobald der Bildschirm in den Energiesparmodus überwechselt. Befindet sich der Touch Screen Monitor im Energiesparmodus oder wird von ihm kein korrektes Eingangssignal erkannt, ist der Bildschirm schwarz und die LED leuchtet orange. HINWEIS: Erst nach der Trennung des Netzteils vom Stromnetz stellt sich keine Leistungsaufnahme mehr ein.

This LED indicator turns green when the power is switched ON and the power cord is properly attached. It turns amber when the monitor goes into a power saving mode. If the Touch Screen monitor is in power-saving mode or if there is no proper input signal, the screen is black and the LED lights up amber.

El indicador LED se enciende de color verde, cuando el monitor se ha puesto en servicio y el cable de la red ha sido conectado correctamente. El indicador LED se enciende de color naranja, tan pronto como el monitor cambie al modo de ahorro de energía. Sicherheits-Stop KARL|STORZ verwendet für das SCB control NEO System einen qualitativ sehr hochwertigen Touch|Screen Monitor. Trotzdem kann ein möglicher Fehler an der Auswerteelektronik nicht zu 100 % verhindert werden. Ein solcher Fehler kann z.|B. dazu führen, dass trotz Loslassen einer Funktionstaste die Bewegung des OP-Tisches dennoch fortgesetzt wird. In einem solchen Fall kann die Bewegung des OP-Tisches durch Ausschalten des SCB Touch|Screen Monitors sicher gestoppt werden. HINWEIS: Der Ein-/Aus-Schalter des SCB Touch|Screen Monitors ist kein NOT-Aus im herkömmlichen Sinne. Operating the Touch Screen monitor together with an operating table control unit

Safety-Stop KARL|STORZ uses a very high-quality Touch Screen monitor for the SCB control NEO system. Nevertheless, it is not possible to prevent a possible error in the evaluation electronics with 100% success. Such an error may, for example, result in the operating table continuing to move even though the control button has been released. In this case, the movement of the operating table can be reliably stopped by switching off the SCB Touch Screen monitor. NOTE: The on/off switch of the SCB Touch Screen monitor is not an emergency stop switch in the conventional sense. It can only be used to reliably detect an error in the evaluation electronics of the SCB Touch Screen monitor. WARNING: Before using the operating table control unit make sure you are familiar with the emergency stop function.

Regular maintenance can, however, contribute to identifying potential problems before they become serious, thus enhancing the device’s reliability and extending its useful service life. Information regarding maintenance services can be obtained from your local representative or from the manufacturer. Regardless of the accident prevention regulations or testing intervals for medical devices prescribed in different countries, we recommend a functional or safety test of the device at least once a year. Do not attempt to carry out maintenance work yourself. Improper handling may invalidate your warranty. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
