Das neue KARL STORZ Motorensystem UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS zeichnet sich durch modernste Elektronik, Flexibilität und Effizienz aus. Das System ist durch die Verwendung von separaten oder im Instrument integrierten bürstenlosen Hochleistungs-Elektronikmotoren im Anwendungsbereich HNO/NEURO/ZMKG universell einsetzbar. Alle Einstellungen und Funktionen können mit dem integrierten Touch-Screen angesteuert werden. Die wählbaren Einstellungen und Funktionen erscheinen als „Klartext“ im Display (zur Zt. sind 10 Sprachen auswählbar; Stand: Softwareversion 1.07). Die Voreinstellungen werden gespeichert, d. h. man braucht sie nur einmal auszuwählen (Ausnahme: Rechts-/Linkslauf; das System startet immer mit Einstellung Rechtslauf.) Durch einfaches Betätigen des entsprechenden Menüfeldes können z. B. Geräteinfos angezeigt werden. Die Fehlersuche im OP vereinfacht sich, da eventuell auftretende Fehler, wie beispielsweise ein fehlender Motor, automatisch angezeigt werden. Zwei Anschlüsse ermöglichen das gleichzeitige Anschließen von zwei Motoren, zum Beispiel Bohrhandstück und NNH-Shaver oder 2 Bohrhandstücke parallel. The new KARL STORZ motor system UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS is characterized by the most modern electronics, flexibility and efficiency. The system can be applied universally with brushless high-powered electronic drives integrated in the instrument or separately in the ENT/NEURO/OMFS range of application. All settings and functions can be controlled via the integrated touch-screen. The settings and functions appear as "Text" in the display (currently, there are 10 selectable languages; version: Softwareversion 1.07). The defaults are stored, i.e. they only have to be selected one time (Exception: clockwise/ counterclockwise rotation; the system always starts in the clockwise setting.) By simply activating the respective menu field, e.g. device information can be displayed. Troubleshooting in OR is easier since any faults that may occur, such as a motor fault, are displayed automatically. Two connections make it possible to connect two motors, e.g. drill handpiece and the Paranasal Sinus Shaver handpiece or 2 drill handpieces in parallel.

El nuevo sistema de motores de KARL STORZ, UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS, se caracteriza por el más moderno sistema electrónico, así como su gran flexibilidad y eficacia. El sistema permite un uso universal mediante la utilización de motores electrónicos sin escobillas de alto rendimiento por separado o integrados en las áreas de aplicación ORL/NEURO/DBMF. Todos los ajustes y funciones pueden controlarse mediante la pantalla táctil integrada. Los ajustes y funciones seleccionables aparecen como “texto” en la pantalla (actualmente pueden seleccionarse 10 idiomas; estado: versión 1.07 del software). Las preconfiguraciones se guardan, es decir, sólo hay que seleccionarlas una vez (Excepción: el sistema se inicia siempre con la configuración de dirección en sentido de las agujas del reloj). Pulsando simplemente los campos del menú correspondientes se puede, por ejemplo, visualizar información del aparato. La localización de averías en el panel de control está simplificada, ya que los fallos que puedan presentarse eventualmente, como por ejemplo la ausencia de un motor, se muestran de forma automática. Los dos conectores permiten conectar dos motores, por ejemplo, el taladro de mano y la afeitadora para senos paranasales o 2 taladros de mano paralelos.

The UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS motor system may only be used with accessories, parts and disposable items that have been designated by KARL STORZ as suitable for the unit. Unauthorized conversions or modifications to the device are not allowed for safety reasons.

The UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS motor system in conjunction with an application instrument may only be used by physicians and/or medical assistants who have been instructed in the use of this device/instrument.

El sistema de motor UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS en combinación con el instrumento de aplicación, sólo puede ser empleado por médicos y personal de asistencia médica que dispongan de una cualificación profesional adecuada y hayan sido instruidos en la utilización del aparato/instrumento.

Das UNIDRIVE ENT/NEURO/OMFS Motorensystem ist in Verbindung mit dem dafür geeigneten Applikationsinstrument im Anwendungsbereich HNO/NEURO/ZMKG universell einsetzbar. Für die Bedienung des Fußschalters  das Anschlusskabel* des Fußschalters in die Buchse für den Fußschalter  an der Rückseite des UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS stecken. Den roten Punkt am Anschlusskabel auf den roten Punkt auf der Fußschalterbuchse ausrichten. Hinweis: Ist beim Einschalten des Gerätes kein Fußschalter angeschlossen, blinkt die Meldung: „E11: KEIN FUSSSCHALTER“ in der Statuszeile des TFT-Displays (siehe Pfeil).

To use the footswitch , insert the connecting cord* of the footswitch into the socket for the footswitch  on the back of the UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS. Align the red dot on the connecting cord with the red dot on the footswitch socket. Note: If no footswitch is connected when the device is switched on, the following message blinks: “E11: NO FOOTSWITCH” in the status line of the TFT display (see arrow).

Para utilizar el interruptor de pedal  coloque el cable de conexión* del interruptor de pedal en el casquillo para el interruptor de pedal  en la parte trasera de UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS. Alinee el punto rojo del cable de conexión sobre el punto rojo del conector del interruptor de pedal. Nota: Si al conectar el aparato no hay ningún interruptor de pedal conectado parpadea el aviso: “E11: NO HAY INTERRUPTOR DE PEDAL” en la línea de estado de la pantalla táctil TFT (véase flecha).

Applikationsinstrument gemäß Gebrauchsanweisung vorbereiten. Hinweis: Bitte die dem Applikationsinstrument beiliegende Gebrauchsanweisung beachten! Das vom Applikationsinstrument (EC-Mikromotor bzw. Shaverhandstück) kommende Anschlusskabel* an Motorausgang M1 und/ oder M2  anschließen.

Prepare the application instrument according to the instruction manual. Note: Pease read the instruction manual provided with the application instrument carefully! The connecting cable* coming from the application instrument (EC Micromotor or shaver handpiece) must be connected to motor output M1 and/ or M2 .

Prepare el instrumento de aplicación según el manual de instrucciones. Nota: Tenga en cuenta el manual de instrucciones de los instrumentos de aplicación correspondientes. The connection will be made properly when the red dot on the connection cable is aligned with that on the socket. Note: If no “Motor“ is connected when the device is switched on, the following messages blinks: “E12/E14: NO MOTOR IN M1/M2“ in the status line of the TFT display (see arrow).

Kühl- und Spülpumpe

Coolant and irrigation pump

Die Steuereinheit UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS ist mit einer integrierten Rollen-Spülpumpe ausgestattet, welche die Funktion einer Kühlpumpe übernimmt. Die Pumpenfunktion steht bei den folgenden Applikationsinstrumenten zur Verfügung: SHAVER, MICRO SHAVER, DRILLCUT-X, BOHRER, SINUSBOHRER, INTRANASAL und SÄGEN.

The UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/OMFS control unit is equipped with an integrated roller irrigation pump which takes on the function of a coolant pump as well. The pumping function is available with the following application instruments: SHAVER, MICRO SHAVER, DRILLCUT-X, DRILL, SINUS BURR, INTRANASAL and SAWS.

Bomba de refrigeración y de lavado La unidad de control UNIDRIVE® ENT/NEURO/ OMFS está dotada con una bomba de lavado de rodillos integrada, que asume la función de una bomba de refrigeración. La función de las bombas está disponible con los siguientes instrumentos de aplicación: AFEITADORA, MICROAFEITADORA, DRILLCUT-X, TALADRO, TALADRO DE SENOS, INTRANASAL y SIERRAS.

Ggf. Irrigatorstange anbringen Ggf. die Irrigatorstange zur Aufhängung eines Spülbeutels oder einer Spülflasche in die Halterung stecken. Irrigatorstange durch Drehen des Knaufes an der Halterung (im Uhrzeigersinn) arretieren.

The inflow tubing of the silicone tubing set for irrigation is equipped with a puncturing pin and a tubing clamp. Close the tubing clamp. Insert a piercing punch into the intended position on the irrigation bag or irrigation bottle.

The selected settings are stored automatically when the menu is exited with the “BACK” or “OPERATING MODE“ buttons. If the pump is active, a green dot appears in the button and the graphic bar indicator for the irrigation flow indicator is switched on. The irrigation flow can be set with the “+/– buttons” (set value). The set value is indicated by the white line in the bar indicator.

If the handpiece is started with the right-hand footswitch, the pump starts automatically and supplies the defined flow quantity. The left-hand footswitch pedal (actuation >2 s) only starts the pump and the irrigation solution is supplied with the defined irrigation flow. The handpiece is not activated.

Si la pieza de mano se pone en marcha mediante el pedal derecho del interruptor de pedal, la bomba se inicia de forma automática y extrae la cantidad de solución de lavado preseleccionada. Con el pedal izquierdo del interruptor de pedal sólo (más de 2 segundos) se pone la bomba en funcionamiento y se extrae la solución de lavado con el flujo de limpieza predeterminado. La pieza de mano no se activa.

1.5 Fußschalterfunktion Im Betriebsmodus „BOHRER“ verfügt der Fußschalter über folgende Funktionen: a) linkes Pedal länger als 2 Sek. betätigen nur Pumpe in Funktion (Spülen), Spülfluss nach voreingestelltem Wert (siehe Aktivieren Pumpe „1.4“) b) linkes Pedal kurz antippen kurzes Antippen erhöht den Spülfluss schrittweise bis zum Maximalwert, danach „beginnt“ der Spülfluss wieder bei „0“ (Pumpe stoppt!). c) rechtes Pedal betätigen dieses Pedal hat eine Proportional-Funktion (Gaspedal-Funktion), die Drehzahl variiert in Abhängigkeit von der Pedalstellung. Das Handstück wird gestartet, Pumpe auf voreingestelltem Spülfluss. d) gelbe Taste (oben) kurz antippen Änderung der Drehrichtung. Hinweis: Die Standardeinstellung nach jedem Einschalten bzw. Anwählen des Arbeitsbildschirms ist Rechtslauf . e) gelbe Taste länger als 2 Sek. betätigt Umschalten von M1 auf M2, oder umgekehrt.

2.3 Maximale Drehzahl (Sollwert) vorwählen Das linke Feld des Arbeitsbildschirms dient der Einstellung und Anzeige der Motordrehzahl. Der zur Verfügung stehende Drehzahlbereich wird an der linken Balkenanzeige unten und oben angezeigt (hier 300 – 7000 U/min). Mittels der „+/–“ Tasten kann die Maximaldrehzahl (Sollwert) vorgewählt werden. Diese vorgewählte Drehzahl wird mittels der roten Ziffern und des weißen Striches in der Balkenanzeige angezeigt. Hinweis: Der „Einschaltstartwert“ für die max. Drehzahl ist 3000 U/min oder weniger!

2.3 Select the maximum speed (set value) The left-hand field on the operation screen is used for setting and displaying the motor rpm. The available speed range is displayed in the top and bottom of the left-hand bar indicator (300 to 7,000 rpm in this instance). The maximum speed (set value) can be selected with the “+/–” buttons. This selected speed is displayed with the red numbers and the white line in the bar indicator. Note: The “Initialization start value” for the max. speed is 3,000 rpm or less!

The selected settings are stored automatically by exiting the menu with the “BACK” or “OPERATING MODE” button. When you exit the menu, the “OPERATING MODE” button returns you directly to the operation screen. The operating mode button displays “MICRO SHAVER“. Note: The selected shaver type applies for both channels.
