Netzsicherungshalter ⑪ entnehmen und Spannungswahlmodul herausnehmen. Das Spannungswahlmodul so in den Netzsicherungshalter einschieben, dass die im Sichtfenster an der Rückseite des Netzsicherungshalters angezeigte Netzspannung mit der lokalen Spannungsversorgung übereinstimmt. Darauf achten, dass die eingesetzten Sicherungen für die gewählte Netzspannung geeignet sind. Netzkabel anschließen. Netzstecker bis zum Anschlag in Netzbuchse ⑫ einschieben.

Setting of the system voltage

Remove the power fuse holder ⑪ and take out the voltage selection module. Insert the voltage selection module into the power fuse holder in such a way that the system voltage displayed in the viewing window on the back of the power fuse holder corresponds to the local power supply. Make certain that the safety fuses which are used are appropriate for the selected system voltage.

Druckluftzufuhr WARNUNG: Der Kompressionsdruck der verwendeten Druckluft am Geräteeingang muss mindestens 3,5 bar, aber höchstens max. 5,0 bar betragen. Compressed air supply WARNING: The pressure of the compressed air used at the unit input must be between 3.5 bar (minimum pressure) and 5.0 bar (maximum pressure). This pressure must be checked at the compressed air feed system used! If the pressure is higher, an excess pressure safety device is triggered in the unit. If necessary, a pressure reducer will have to be used. WARNING: Only dry, oil-free compressed air filtered to ≤ 5 ‘m may be used. Under no circumstances should CO2 gas be used for the compressed air supply.

WARNING: Before and after each application the lithotripsy wire probes used must be inspected for possible damage, particularly deformation of the collar edge and any formation of burr or chips. If damage is found, the probe must not be used again. Generally speaking, the lithotripsy wire probes with silicone damper have to be changed after a maximum of 5 applications or after damage.

CUIDADO: Antes y después de cada aplicación deben verificarse las sondas macizas de litotripsia utilizadas para comprobar si presentan deterioros, en particular deformaciones del reborde del cuello, o la formación de virutas o rebabas. Si se comprueba la existencia de deterioros, la sonda ya no debe seguir siendo utilizada. Stärke der Druckluftpulse am Drehknopf ⑧ vorwählen. Der vorgewählte Wert wird am Manometer|② angezeigt. HINWEIS: Die Maximaleinstellung für die Druckluftstärke ist auf 2,0 bar begrenzt. Für die ordnungsgemäße Funktion ist ein Druck von mindestens 1 bar erforderlich.

Preselect the force of the compressed air pulses using the knob ⑧. The preselected value is displayed on the pressure gauge ②.

Mit der M-Taste ⑦ die gewünschte Frequenz der Druckluftpulse wählen. Je nach vorgewählter Frequenz leuchtet entweder die Anzeige ③ (Einzelschuss) oder die Anzeige ④ (Dauerschuss) auf. HINWEIS: In der Betriebsart Dauerschuss werden ca. 12 Schüsse pro Sekunde abgegeben.

With the M button ⑦, select the desired frequency of the compressed air pulses. According to the preselected frequency, either Display ③ (singleshot) or Display ④ (continuous-shot) lights up. NOTE: In the continuous-shot operating mode, approx. 12 shots per second are emitted.

The maximum pressure setting for 1 NOTE: compressed air is limited to 2.0 bar. To guarantee normal operation a pressure of at least 1 bar is necessary.

Obwohl die Sonde nur eine stumpfe Krafteinwirkung auf die Schleimhaut ausübt und keine Wärmeentwicklung zu befürchten ist, muss eine ständige Sichtkontrolle der Sondenspitze gewährleistet sein. Insbesondere bei kleinen Steinfragmenten ist mit erhöhter Vorsicht vorzugehen. Es empfiehlt sich, die Lithotripsie zu beenden, wenn die Steinfragmente eine Größe erreicht haben, die eine manuelle Extraktion ermöglichen oder einen Spontanabgang wahrscheinlich machen. Bei zunehmender Fragmentierung ist gegebenenfalls der Spüldruck soweit abzusenken, dass keine unerwünschten Bewegungen der Steinfragmente auftreten.

Although the probe only exerts a blunt force upon the mucuous membrane and there is no fear of heat development, constant visual control of the probe tip must be ensured. Particularly with small stone fragments, proceed with increased care. It is recommended that the lithotripsy be ended when the stone fragments have reached a size which facilitates manual extraction or makes natural passage probable. With increasing fragmentation, reduce the irrigation pressure as much as necessary, so that no unwanted movements of the calculus fragments occur.

A pesar de que la sonda tan sólo ejerce un efecto obtuso de fuerza en la mucosa y no es de temer la formación de calor, ha de garantizarse un permanente control visual de la punta de la sonda. Particularmente en el caso de fragmentos de cálculo de reducido tamaño es preciso proceder con extremo cuidado. Se recomienda finalizar la litotricia en cuanto los fragmentos hayan alcanzado un tamaño que permita su extracción manual o que haga posible su expulsión de forma natural. La progresiva fragmentación hace necesaria una reducción de la presión de irrigación, de modo que no se produzcan movimientos indeseados de los fragmentos del cálculo.

WARNUNG: Beim Arbeiten im Dauerschussbetrieb sollte aus Sicherheitsgründen regelmäßig alle 1–2 Sekunden (d. i. nach 12–24 Pulsen) der Fortschritt der Lithotripsie und die Lage des Steins und der Sondenspitze überprüft werden.

7. 10 Außerbetriebnahme

Den CALCUSPLIT® am Netzschalter ① ausschalten. Instrumentenschlauch von der Vorderseite des Gerätes trennen und Handstück sowie Schlauch der Aufbereitung zuführen.

WARNUNG: Verletzungsgefahr! Schlauchsystem steht unter Druck (auch nach Abdrehen der Druckluftversorgung). Druckluftschlauch beim Abziehen vom Anschlussstutzen ⑨ festhalten. Druckluftschlauch von der Rückseite des Gerätes trennen.

WARNING: When working in continuousshot operation, the progress of the lithotripsy and position of the stone and of the probe tip should be checked regularly every 1–2 seconds (i.e. after 12–24 pulses) for safety reasons.

7. 10 Decommissioning

Switch off the CALCUSPLIT® at power switch ①. Remove the instrument tube from the front of the device and carry out preparation on the handpiece as well as the tube.

WARNING: Risk of injury! Tube system is under pressure (even after switching off the compressed air supply). Hold compressed air hose still when removing it from connecting piece ⑨. Remove compressed air hose from the back of the device.

CUIDADO: Durante el trabajo en el modo de servicio de impactos continuos es imprescindible comprobar regularmente, por razones de seguridad, el progreso de la litotricia y la posición del cálculo y de la punta de la sonda, realizando un control cada 1–2 seg. (es decir, tras 12–24 impulsos).

Preventive maintenance is not essential. Regular maintenance can, however, contribute to identifying potential problems before they become serious, thus enhancing the instrument’s reliability and extending its useful operating life. Maintenance services can be obtained from your local representative or from the manufacturer. Regardless of the accident prevention regulations or testing intervals for medical devices prescribed in different countries, a safety check must be carried out on the unit at least once a year.

Regelmäßige Wartungen können aber dazu beitragen, eventuelle Störungen frühzeitig zu erkennen und so die Sicherheit und Lebensdauer des Gerätes erhöhen. KARL|STORZ shall be liable for the safe operation, operational reliability, and performance of this equipment only subject to the following conditions: • all assembly operations, system expansions, readjustments, modifications, or repairs have been performed by a person or persons duly authorized by KARL|STORZ; • all electrical installations at the location in which the unit is connected and operated meet the applicable laws and standards; and • the unit has been used in accordance with its operating instructions at all times.

Auf Anfrage stellt der Hersteller ihm verfügbare Schaltpläne, ausführliche Ersatzteillisten, Beschreibungen, Einstellanweisungen und andere Unterlagen bereit, die dem entsprechend qualifizierten und vom Hersteller autorisierten Personal des Anwenders beim Reparieren von Geräteteilen, die vom Hersteller als reparierbar bezeichnet werden, von Nutzen sind. Das Verfügen über technische Unterlagen zum Gerät stellt auch für technisch geschultes Personal keine Autorisierung durch den Hersteller zum Öffnen oder Reparieren des Gerätes dar. Ausgenommen sind im Text der vorliegenden Gebrauchsanweisung beschriebene Eingriffe.

On request, the manufacturer will provide those circuit diagrams, itemized parts listings, descriptions, sets of adjustment instructions, and other items of available documentation to suitably qualified user personnel duly authorized by the manufacturer for their use in repairing those components of the unit that have been designated as reparable by their respective manufacturers. Supply of such technical documentation relating to the unit shall not be construed as constituting manufacturer’s authorization of user’s personnel, regardless of their levels of technical training, to open or repair the unit. Explicitly exempted herefrom are those maintenance and repair operations described in this manual.
