Monitor
Connecting the video unit to the cable Plug the C-MAC connection cable into the C-MAC system interface on the video unit. Make sure to align the orientation pins on the connector and the interface.
Connecting the monitor Two KARL STORZ video units compatible with the C-MAC HD monitor can be connected to the monitor, either when the monitor is turned off and during operation. Video units from other manufacturers cannot be connected. The video units can be changed during operation while the monitor is on.

Turning the monitor on and off Press the On/Off button to turn the monitor on.

Switching the monitor to standby mode Standby mode enables the monitor to be quickly ready for operation again after brief interruptions. Briefly press the On/Off button. monitor switches to standby mode after 20 minutes of inactivity. 1 The This time may be longer depending on the video unit connected.
Mounting the monitor Attach the stand holder to the rear of the monitor using 4 screws. Press the sides of the holder together so that the bar can slide through the holes. Release the holder once you get to the position you want. The holder's own tension will keep the device in this position.
Connecting the power adapter and charging the monitor Plug the power adapter's power plug into the the corresponding socket on the monitor. Secure the connector with the swivel nut. Plug the power adapter into the wall socket while holding the cable on the plug housing. The C-MAC HD monitor can run on both power from the power cord and on power from the integrated battery.

Saving images and recording video Insert the SD card into the monitor in the correct position. The C-MAC HD monitor is compatible with SDHC SD cards (class 10 or higher) that have been formatted to FAT32 and have a transfer speed of at least 80 MB/s and a storage capacity of up to 32 GB. Correct operation cannot be ensured if any other memory cards are used.

Using a USB stick Insert the USB stick into the USB port on the side of the monitor. The information area displays the available memory capacity.

Freeze The freeze function is active and the live image is frozen.
Video unit controls Video recording using the buttons on the video unit is locked.

Low battery, below 20%
Memory card available The inserted memory card was detected.
Critically low battery 10 % The red bar is flashing.
Memory capacity is low Less than 300 MB of memory available.
Critically low battery Approx. 10 minutes of battery power left.
Memory capacity is critical Flashing red: Less than 100 MB of memory available.
The battery is charging.
Battery charge state
Replace battery The battery has less than 50% of its original maximum capacity.
2.2 Information area The information area provides the following details: – Item number, firmware version, and, depending on the connected accessories, the number of cycles and the operating time of the connected video unit – Memory capacity and remaining storage space on the SD card being used – Memory capacity and remaining storage space on the USB stick being used – Battery charge state – C-MAC HD monitor firmware version

2.3 Video unit functions Video recording Starts or stops a video recording. This function is only available if an SD card has been inserted.
Switch video unit This function is only available if two video units are connected.
Image capture Captures and saves images. This function is only available if an SD card has been inserted.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) The live image from the secondary video unit will be shown in a window at the bottom left of the live image from the primary video unit. This function is only available if two video units are connected. Side-by-side If two video units are connected, the live images of both video units are shown next to each other. The live image on the left displays the image from the primary video unit. This function is only available if two video units are connected. Show and hide menu bar In the 16:10 screen format, the menu bar can be shown or hidden.
Full screen Displays the live image from the primary video unit. This function is only available if the picturein-picture or side-by-side viewing mode has been activated. 2.4 Function space Microphone
Brightness
Default setting: The microphone is muted and must be activated manually in the password-protected settings.
Adjusts the brightness of the monitor. Hue Adjusts the hue of the monitor.
Screen settings
Saturation
The menu for the screen settings is displayed and can be used to adjust the monitor's hue, saturation, contrast, and brightness settings.
Adjusts the saturation of the monitor. Contrast Adjusts the contrast of the monitor.

Still image (freeze)
Factory settings
Enables or locks the Freeze function.
Resets the primary video unit to the factory settings.
Operation via video unit
Clear SD card
Enables or locks the operating buttons on the video unit. Only available if a video unit with a button lock function is connected.
Deletes the content of the SD card. Only available if an SD card has been inserted.
White balance
SD card to USB stick
Performs the white balance.
Transfers the content of the SD card to a USB stick. Only available if an SD card and USB stick have been inserted.
Timer Activates or deactivates the timer.
Date and time Sets the date and time. Image position The displayed live image is in its original position or has been rotated by 180°.
Password-protected settings Calls up the protected system settings. Confirm

2.4.1 Password-protected settings A default password is set when the product is delivered. It is 0000. If you lose your password, please contact KARL STORZ Technical Support.

Audio recordings Enables or disables the microphone for audio recordings.
Firmware update for video unit Updates the firmware of the connected video unit. This function is only available if an SD card with update files has been inserted, a video unit is connected, and the power supply is sufficient.
Automatic video recording
Firmware update
Enables or disables automatic video recording. If the function is enabled, video recording starts automatically as soon as a video unit is connected.
Updates the firmware of the C-MAC HD monitor.
Changing a password Used to change the password for the protected area.
License information Calls up the license information for the product and the software source code.
This function is only available if an SD card with update files has been inserted and the power supply is sufficient.
Exports the system log (log files) to the inserted SD card.
