The flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope 11272 V/VU is used in conjunction with the monitor 8402 ZX for inspection of the lower urinary tract. Videoscopes are applied parts, which should only be used with supply units specified for this purpose by KARL STORZ.

Das flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskop darf nicht angewendet werden, wenn nach Meinung eines verantwortlichen Arztes eine solche Anwendung eine Gefährdung des Patienten hervorrufen würde, z. B. aufgrund des Allgemeinzustandes des Patienten, oder die endoskopische Methode als solche kontraindiziert ist.

There are no known contraindications relating directly to the product. The flexible CMOS VideoCysto-Urethroscope must not be used if, in the opinion of the responsible physician, such an application would endanger the patient, e.g. due to the patient’s general condition, or if the endoscopic method as such is contraindicated.

Die in dieser Anleitung gegebenen Hinweise dienen lediglich der korrekten Hand­habung und Aufbereitung des flexiblen CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskops. Sie sind nicht zur Einführung in die Technik der flexiblen Cystoskopie geeignet.

The KARL STORZ flexible CMOS Video-CystoUrethroscope may only be used by persons with an appropriate medical qualification and who are acquainted with the flexible cystoscopy technique. The information given in these instructions only serves to instruct in the correct handling and preparation of the Flexible CMOS Video-CystoUrethroscope. It is not intended as an introduction to the technique of flexible cystoscopy.

The flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope can be used together with the KARL STORZ monitor 8402 ZX. The instruction manual for the monitor must be observed. WARNING: It must be ensured that the electrically non-insulated parts of the endoscope do not come into contact with conductive surfaces, or voltage-carrying elements of other units, at any time.

El videocistouretroscopio flexible CMOS puede utilizarse con el monitor 8402 ZX de KARL STORZ. Debe tenerse en cuenta el Manual de instrucciones de dicho monitor. The cinch connection on the rear of the monitor delivers a composite video signal. A cinch cable can be used to send this signal to an external monitor.

Bei einer Speicher­kapazität von über 1000 Bildern erfolgt die Zählung nur in 100er Schritten (15.9k, 15.8k, …). Sinkt die Speicherkapazität unter 1000 Bilder ab, erfolgt die Zählung in Einzelschritten.

Single image capture: Saves the current screen content on the SD memory card. The value displayed in brackets indicates how many images can still be stored (15.9k = 15900 images). With a memory capacity of over 1000 images, the figures are given in 100k steps (15.9k, 15.8k, …). If the memory capacity falls below 1000 images, the figures are given in single steps.

Weißabgleich: Ermöglicht es dem Benutzer, einen manuellen Weißabgleich durchzuführen. Dazu das distale Ende auf eine weiße Fläche richten und den Softkey betätigen.

White balance: Allows the user to manually white balance the system. To do so, point the distal tip to a white surface and press the softkey.

The endoscope must be completely immersed in a cleaning solution. The suction and working channel must be covered with no air bubbles by filling in a targeted manner. At the end of the necessary exposure time as specified by the manufacturer, the endoscope must be rinsed several times in order to remove all chemical residues. Sterile filtered water must be used for the final rinsing.

Drying

Finally, the surfaces and channels are dried completely with (preferably sterile) compressed air in accordance with the national regulations. The cleaning gun with accessories (Art. no. 27660) is ideal for this purpose. CAUTION: The pressure must not exceed 100 kPa (1 bar / 14.5 psi). It may therefore be necessary to operate the cleaning gun with a pressure reducer.

Maintenance

Preventive maintenance is not essential. Regular maintenance can contribute to identifying potential problems before they become serious, enhancing the instrument’s reliability and extending its useful operating life. Maintenance services can be obtained from your local representative or from the manufacturer. Regardless of the accident prevention regulations or testing intervals for medical instruments prescribed in different countries, we recommend a functional or safety test of the unit at least once a year.
