WARNUNG: Risk of infection during shipment! Contaminated video bronchoscopes pose a risk of infection. For this reason, always wipe-down disinfect the video bronchoscope and sterilize with the pressure compensation cap in place before shipping!

WARNING: If a malfunction should occur during application on a patient, stop the application immediately. Place the distal tip of the video endoscope in the neutral, nondeflected position and remove the video endoscope slowly and carefully from the patient.
CUIDADO: Si durante la aplicación en el paciente se produjera un fallo de funcionamiento, interrumpa inmediatamente la aplicación. Coloque la punta distal en posición neutral no angulada y extraiga lenta y cuidadosamente el videoendoscopio del cuerpo del paciente.
CAUTION: Do not expose the video bronchoscope to direct sunlight or excessive heat, to avoid damage to the device.

CAUTION: Video bronchoscopes must never be exposed to X-rays, to avoid damage. CAUTION: Do not steam sterilize (autoclave) the video endoscopes. CAUTION: The maximum permissible temperature for decontamination, sterilization, transport and storage is 65°C. CAUTION: Do not hit the distal tip of the video vronchoscope against hard objects, and never use a sharp object to remove dirt.

Die folgenden Angaben dienen der korrekten Bedienung des Video-Bronchoskops und des entsprechenden Zubehörs. Sie sind keine Einführung in die Technik der Bronchoskopie. Hinweise zur endoskopischen Technik entnehmen Sie bitte der entsprechenden medizinischen Fachliteratur. Für Ihr Video-Bronchoskop geeignetes Zubehör, z.B. Biopsiezangen, finden Sie im KARL STORZ Thorax-Katalog oder Auszügen aus dem Thorax-Katalog.
The following instructions outline the correct operation of the video bronchoscope and the corresponding accessories. This is not an introduction to the techniques of bronchoscopy. Instructions on endoscopic technique can be found in the relevant medical literature. Suitable accessories for your video bronchoscope, such as biopsy forceps, can be found in the KARL STORZ Thorax catalog or extracts from this catalog.
Las siguientes indicaciones sirven para el manejo correcto del videobroncoscopio y de los accesorios correspondientes. No constituyen una introducción a la técnica de la broncoscopia. Las indicaciones referentes a la técnica endoscópica las encontrará en la bibliografía médica especializada pertinente. Den Griff des Video-Bronchoskops entsprechend dem Bild in die linke oder rechte Hand nehmen. Mit einem solchen Kontrollgriff kann das VideoBronchoskop mit einer Hand bedient werden. Der Daumen kann den Abwinkelungshebel steuern, während der Zeigefinger und/oder der Ringfinger die Funktionstaste bedienen kann.
Grip the handle of the video bronchoscope in your left or right hand, as shown in the picture. With this kind of control grip, the video bronchoscope can be operated with one hand. You can control the deflection lever with your thumb, while your index finger and/or ring finger operates the function button.
Sujete el mango del videobroncoscopio con la mano izquierda o la derecha como se muestra en la ilustración. Con un mango de control de este tipo, el videobroncoscopio se puede manejar con una sola mano. CAUTION: The sheaths of the video bronchoscope must never be kinked or coiled up too tightly. It is best to suspend the Video Bronchoscope for storage or to keep it in a large container.

Verwenden Sie ein wasserlösliches Gleitmittel für den distalen Bereich des Einführschlauches. Das Lumen während des Einsatzes die ganze Zeit über beobachten. Falls Sie die Orientierung dabei verlieren sollten, den Schaft in neutraler Stellung solange leicht zurückziehen bis die Sicht wieder hergestellt ist. Falls das Bild im Einsatz ausfällt, gestört wird oder verschmiert oder im allgemeinen die Sicht beeinträchtigt wird, die Abwinkelungsmechanik in die neutrale Stellung bringen und den Schaft des Video-Bronchoskops langsam aus dem Körper herausziehen.
Use a suitable water-soluble lubricant for the distal section of the insertion tube. Observe the lumen the whole time during use. If you lose your orientation, pull the sheath back slightly into the neutral position until vision is restored. If, during use, the image fails, is disturbed, or becomes blurred, or if vision in general is impeded, put the deflection mechanism into the neutral position and slowly pull the sheath of the video bronchoscope out of the patient’s body.
Utilice un producto lubricante soluble en agua para el área distal del tubo flexible de introducción. Observe el lumen en todo momento durante la aplicación. Si al hacerlo perdiese usted la orientación, extraiga ligeramente la vaina a la posición neutral hasta recuperar la visibilidad. Si durante la aplicación, la imagen desapareciese, fuese interferida o enturbiada o la visibilidad en general se viera afectada de algún modo, coloque el mecanismo deflector en la posición neutral y extraiga lentamente la vaina del videobroncoscopio fuera del cuerpo.

WARNUNG: Geeignetes Zubehör z.B. Biopsiezangen nur in neutraler, nicht abgewinkelter Position der distalen Spitze in den Instrumentenkanal des Video-Bronchoskops einführen. Mit eingeführtem Instrument den Ablenkhebel sanft und behutsam bis zum Anschlag steuern. Der Ablenkhebel darf niemals gewaltsam oder ruckartig bedient werden, um weder den Patienten zu verletzen noch das Gerät zu zerstören!
WARNING: Suitable accessories, such as biopsy forceps, must only be introduced into the instrument channel of the video bronchoscope with the distal tip in the neutral, non-deflected position. Once the instrument has been introduced, carefully actuate the lever gently as far as the limit stop. The deflection lever must never be operated with force or abruptly, to avoid injuring the patient or damaging the device irreparably!
CUIDADO: Introduzca los accesorios adecuados, p. ej., pinzas para biopsia, en el canal para instrumentos del videobroncoscopio únicamente con la punta distal en posición neutral, no angulada. WARNUNG: Das Video-Bronchoskop darf mit den von KARL STORZ dafür vorgesehenen Lichtquellen XENON 100 201325 20 und D-Light C/AF 201336 01-133 verwendet werden. Die Gebrauchsanleitung der Lichtquellen muss beachtet werden.
WARNUNG: The video bronchoscope can be used with the light sources XENON 100 20 1325 20 and D-Light C/AF 201336 01-133 specified by KARL STORZ for this purpose. The instruction manual of the light sources must be followed.

WARNUNG: Verbrennungs- und Blendungsgefahr! Niemals direkt in das ausgestrahlte Licht der Lichtquelle und des Video-Bronchoskops sehen. WARNING: Danger of burns and glare! Never look directly into the light emitted from the light source or the video bronchoscope. The high-intensity light emitted through the video bronchoscope may cause glare or high temperatures, and thereby burns, at the distal light outlet.
CUIDADO: ¡Peligro de quemaduras y enceguecimiento! No mire nunca hacia la luz directamente emitida por la fuente de luz y el videobroncoscopio. WARNING: Danger of burns and fire hazard! Never place the end of the fiberoptic cable or the distal tip of the video bronchoscope on or underneath a sterile cover cloth. The intensity of the light can cause burns to the patient and/or the sterile cover cloth.

WARNING: Reduce the intensity of the light source so that optimal illumination of the operating field is still achieved. The higher the intensity of the light source, the greater the heat emitted at the tip of the video bronchoscope.

NOTE: For the correct settings for the light sources, please see the operating instructions of the devices used. 1. Install the light source on a firm, level surface. 2. Plug the power cord into the specified power socket. 3. Plug the supply connector into the light source.

HINWEIS: Für die korrekten Einstellungen der Lichtquellen beachten Sie bitte die Bedienungsanleitungen der verwendeten Geräte. 1. Die Lichtquelle auf einer festen, ebenen Oberfläche installieren 2. Das Netzkabel in die dafür vorgesehene Buchse einstecken. 3. Den Versorgungsstecker in die Lichtquelle einstecken. 16

HINWEIS: Der Wechsel zwischen dem Weißlicht- und Autofluoreszenz-Modus ist nur in Kombination mit der Kamera-Kontrolleinheit TELECAM SL II FI und der Lichtquelle D-Light C/AF möglich.
Anschluss an die Absaugpumpe VORSICHT: Das Video-Bronchoskop darf ausschließlich mit den von KARL STORZ dafür vorgesehenen Absaugpumpen DUOMAT® 203210 20 und UNIMAT® 30 25 3200 20 verwendet werden. Die Anleitung der vorgesehenen Absaugpumpen muss beachtet werden. 1. Die Absaugpumpe auf einer festen, ebenen Oberfläche installieren 2. Das Netzkabel in die dafür vorgesehene Buchse einstecken. 3. Das Video-Bronchoskop mit dem Absaugschlauch an die Absaugvorrichtungen anschließen.

HINWEIS: Changing between white light and autofluorescence mode is only possible in combination with the camera control unit TELECAM SL II FI and the light source D-Light C/AF.
Connection to the drainage pump CAUTION: The video bronchoscope must only be used with the drainage pumps DUOMAT® 20 3210 20 and UNIMAT® 30 25 3200 20 specified by KARL STORZ for this purpose. The instructions for the specified drainage pump must be followed. 1. Install the drainage pump on a firm, level surface. 2. Plug the power cord into the specified power socket. 3. Connect the video bronchoscope to the suction devices with the suction tube.

NOTA: La alternancia entre el modo de autofluorescencia y de luz blanca sólo es posible en combinación con la unidad de control de la cámara TELECAM SL II FI y la fuente de luz D-Light C/AF.
Conexión a la bomba de succión ADVERTENCIA: El videobroncoscopio ha de utilizarse exclusivamente con las bombas de succión DUOMAT® 203210 20 y UNIMAT® 30 25 3200 20 previstas al efecto por KARL STORZ. Observe el Manual de instrucciones de las bombas de succión previstas. 1. Instale la bomba de succión sobre una superficie fija y plana. 2. HINWEIS: Vor dem erstmaligen Gebrauch muss das Gerät, bis auf die Vorreinigung, einem kompletten Aufbereitungszyklus einschließlich Dichtigkeitsprüfung unterzogen werden.
NOTE: Before the device is used for the first time, it must be subjected to a complete preparation cycle (without preliminary cleaning) including leakage testing.
WARNUNG: Der einwandfreie Zustand des Video-Bronchoskops sowie des in Kombination verwendeten Zubehörs ist vor jeder Anwendung zu überprüfen. Beschädigte Video-Bronchoskope bzw. beschädigtes Zubehör dürfen nicht verwendet werden.
WARNING: Every time the video bronchoscope is used, you must first check that it, and any accessories used in combination with it, are in perfect condition. Damaged video bronchoscopes or damaged accessories must not be used.
NOTA: Antes de emplear el equipo por primera vez, éste ha de ser sometido a un ciclo completo de preparación, prescindiendo de la limpieza previa pero incluyendo la verificación de estanqueidad. CUIDADO: Compruebe antes de cada aplicación el perfecto estado del videobroncoscopio y de los accesorios utilizados en combinación con el mismo. No siga utilizando videobroncoscopios defectuosos o accesorios deteriorados.

WARNUNG: Den Ablenkhebel sanft und behutsam bis zum Anschlag steuern. Der Ablenkhebel darf niemals gewaltsam oder ruckartig bedient werden, um weder den Patienten zu verletzen noch das Gerät zu zerstören! Den Ablenkhebel gleichmäßig langsam bewegen!
WARNING: Before use, always check that the deflection lever and the distal tip connected to it function correctly. Defective video bronchoscopes must not be used.
CUIDADO: Controle la palanca deflectora suave y cuidadosamente hasta el tope. ¡La palanca deflectora no ha de accionarse jamás con violencia o bruscamente, para no lesionar al paciente ni deteriorar el equipo! Mueva la palanca deflectora lenta y uniformemente.
Die Abwinkelung der distalen Spitze wird durch den Ablenkhebel bewirkt. Den Ablenkhebel langsam drehen, das Endstück sollte sich nach unten bewegen. Durch Drehen des Ablenkhebels entgegengesetzt wird eine Aufwärtsbewegung erzeugt.
The distal tip is deflected by means of the deflection lever. Turn the deflection lever slowly; the end piece should move downward. Turn the deflection lever in the opposite direction to produce an upward movement.
CUIDADO: Antes de cada aplicación hay que comprobar la capacidad de funcionamiento de la palanca deflectora y la correspondiente punta distal. Los videobroncoscopios defectuosos no han de ser utilizados. La deflexión de la punta distal se efectúa usando la palanca deflectora. Gire lentamente la palanca deflectora: el extremo final debería moverse hacia abajo. Girando la palanca deflectora en dirección opuesta, se genera un movimiento hacia arriba.

Lichtquelle oder Tele Pack™ wie auf Seite 14 beschrieben vorbereiten und an das VideoBronchoskop anschließen. Am distalen Ende des Video-Bronchoskops muss ein Lichtaustritt zu erkennen sein. Die Lichtintensität kann über die Lichtquelle manuell eingestellt werden.
Prepare the light source or Tele Pack™ as described on page 14 and connect to the video bronchoscope. Emission of light at the distal end of the video bronchoscope must be recognizable. The light intensity can be adjusted manually via the light source.
Prepare la fuente de luz o el Tele Pack™ como se describe en la página 14 y conéctelos al videobroncoscopio. En el extremo distal del videobroncoscopio debería reconocerse una emisión de luz. La intensidad de luz se puede ajustar manualmente en la fuente de luz.

Preparation must only be carried out by authorized, trained personnel. When the cleaning procedure has been completed, remove residues from the cleaning equipment, such as reusable brushes, and disinfect. All flexible KARL STORZ video bronchoscopes can be connected to devices for semi- or fully automatic cleaning and disinfection.
