The cold light fountain XENON NOVA® 300 serves as a standard high intensity light source for endoscopic diagnostic observation and surgical procedures while minimizing tissue heating. Use of the unit in elds other than those indicated above is not allowed for safety reasons.

The light outlet point  can be unscrewed if necessary and replaced with adapters for light cables from other manufacturers (see KARLSTORZ catalog TELEPRESENCE).

Die Kaltlicht-Fontäne XENONNOVA® 300 hat einen internen Betriebsstundenzähler. Bei einer Betriebsstundenzahl > 450 leuchtet die Kontroll-Leuchte Lampenwechsel rot. Bei einer Betriebsstundenzahl von > 500 blinkt sie. Die Lampe muss dann ersetzt werden (siehe Lampenwechsel Seite 11). VORSICHT: Die Betriebsdauer der Lampe sollte aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht über 500 Stunden liegen.

The XENONNOVA® 300 cold light fountain has an internal service hour counter. When the operating hours exceed 450, the lamp change light glows red. If the operating hours exceed 500, the lamp change light ashes. The lamp must then be changed (see Lamp Replacement on page 11). CAUTION: For safety reasons the operating time of the lamp should not exceed 500hours.

La fuente de luz fría XENONNOVA® 300 dispone de un contador interno de las horas de servicio. Con un número de horas de servicio superior a 450, la lámpara de control que indica el cambio de lámpara se ilumina en rojo. Con un número de horas de servicio superior a 500, la lámpara de control se enciende intermitentemente, indicando el cambio de la lámpara . Wipe-clean the exterior surfaces of the unit with a low-lint disposable cloth moistened with disinfectant. For wipe-down disinfection, we recommend using only surface disinfectants (no solutions predominantly containing alcohol such as rapidaction disinfectants) and ‘disposable disinfectant methods’ based on ammonium chloride.

Wartungsdienste können bei Ihrer zuständigen Gebietsvertretung oder beim Hersteller erfragt werden. Unabhängig von den in den verschiedenen Ländern vorgeschriebenen Unfallverhütungsvorschriften oder Prüfungsintervallen für Medizingeräte empfehlen wir eine Funktions- oder Sicherheitsüberprüfung des Gerätes mindestens einmal im Jahr. Detaillierte Hinweise entnehmen Sie bitte der jeweils gültigen Version des Service Manuals, Bestellnummer SV 3445 (englische Version).

Preventive maintenance is not essential. Regular maintenance can, however, contribute to identifying potential problems before they become serious, thus enhancing the instrument’s reliability and extending its useful operating life. Maintenance services can be obtained from your local representative or from the manufacturer. Regardless of the accident prevention regulations or testing intervals for medical instruments prescribed in different countries, we recommend a functional or safety test of the unit at least once a year. For detailed instructions please refer to the version of the Service Manual currently valid, catalog number SV 3445 (English version).

Das Verfügen über technische Unterlagen zum Gerät stellt auch für technisch geschultes Personal keine Autorisierung durch den Hersteller zum Öffnen oder Reparieren des Gerätes dar. Ausgenommen sind im Text der vorliegenden Gebrauchsanweisung beschriebene Eingriffe.

On request, the manufacturer will provide those circuit diagrams, itemized parts listings, descriptions, sets of adjustment instructions, and other items of available documentation to suitably qualied user personnel duly authorized by the manufacturer for their use in repairing those components of the instrument that have been designated as reparable by their respective manufacturers. WARNUNG: Medizinische elektrische Geräte unterliegen besonderen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen hinsichtlich der Elektromagnetischen Verträglichkeit (EMV). Beachten Sie die in diesem Anhang angegebenen EMV-Hinweise bei Installation und Betrieb.

Die XENON NOVA® 300 Modell 20 1340 20 entspricht der EN/IEC 60601-1-2 :2001 [CISPR 11 Klasse B] und erfüllt somit die EMV-Anforderungen der Medical Device Directive (MDD) 93/42/EEC. Die verwendeten Grenzwerte bieten ein grundlegendes Maß an Sicherheit gegenüber typischen elektromagnetischen Beeinussungen, wie sie in einer medizinischen Umgebung zu erwarten sind. Die XENON NOVA® 300 Modell 20 1340 20 ist ein Gerät der Gruppe 1 (nach CISPR 11). The XENON NOVA® 300 model 20 1340 20 corresponds to EN/IEC 60601-1-2 :2001 [CISPR 11 Class B] and therefore meets the EMC requirements of the Medical Device Directive (MDD) 93/42/EEC. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against the typical electromagnetic interference to be expected in a medical environment. The XENON NOVA® 300 model 20 1340 20 is a Group 1 unit (as per CISPR 11). Group 1 contains all the ‘equipment and systems which generate or use RF energy only for their internal functioning’.
