Um die Funktionssicherheit und eine lange ­Lebensdauer der Sonden zu gewährleisten, dürfen sie nur in Flüssigkeit und in Kontakt mit dem Konkrement betrieben werden. Die Anwendung in Luft und ohne Kontakt zum Konkrement führt zu stark erhöhtem vorzeitigen Verschleiß. Die Ultraschall-Sonden werden eingesetzt über die Arbeitskanäle der für die Therapie vorgesehenen Schäfte. Die Spülflüssigkeit wird entsprechend außen an der Sonde in den Patienten geleitet. Die Absaugflüssigkeiten werden innen durch die Hohlsonden geleitet. Aktuelle Instrumente zur ­Lithotripsie entnehmen Sie bitte den KARL STORZ Katalogen.

In order to guarantee the functional reliability and long service life of the probes, they must only be operated in liquid and in contact with the concrement. Use in air and without contact with the concrement results in greater premature wear. The ultrasonic probes are used via the working channels of the sheaths intended for surgery. Accordingly, the rinsing liquid is guided into the patient on the outside of the external probe. The suction fluids are guided internally by the hollow probes. Probes which are no longer in perfect condition can, for example, through breakage of the oscillating burr during the operation, result in serious risk to the patient and must therefore under no circumstances be used any longer. WARNING: Breakage of the oscillating burr results in sharp edges which can cause inadvertent perforation of, or injury to, the bladder, ureter, urethra or kidneys.

5. 8. 1 Qualifikation des Anwenders Der CALCUSON darf nur von Ärzten und medizinischem Assistenzpersonal angewendet werden, die über eine entsprechende fachliche Qualifikation verfügen und am Gerät eingewiesen sind. Die Einweisung darf nur durch solche Personen erfolgen, die aufgrund ihrer Kenntnisse dazu geeignet sind. Die zuständige Gebietsvertretung oder der zuständige KARL STORZ Vertreter steht für die Einweisung und für Auskunft über weitere Schulungsalternativen zur Verfügung.

5. 8. 1 User qualification The CALCUSON may only be used by physicians and medical assistants who have a corresponding specialized qualification and who have been instructed in use of the unit. Such instruction should only be provided by persons equipped to do so on the basis of their skills. Your local representative or responsible KARL STORZ member of staff is available to provide training and information on further training alternatives.

Checking selected line voltage (115/230 V) Remove the power fuse holder/line voltage selector w and take out the voltage selection module. Insert the voltage selection module into the power fuse holder in such a way that the system voltage (115 or 230 V) displayed in the viewing window on the back of the power fuse holder corresponds to the local power supply. Make certain that the fuses used are suitable for the line voltage selected and are as stated on the manufacturer’s identification plate: 100/120 VAC: 2 x T3.15 AH 250 V 230/240 VAC: 2 x T3.15 AH 250 V

The exterior surfaces of the medical device must be wiped clean with a disposable cloth moistened with disinfectant or a ready to use soaked disinfectant cloth. Due to their protein-fixating effect and possible material incompatibility, alcoholbased agents must not be used. The chemical manufacturer’s specifications regarding material compatibility must be observed. At the end of the necessary exposure time for the disinfectant as specified by the manufacturer, wipe the surface with a dry low lint cloth.
