CE Marking Information Compliance
The MAC-LAB Cardiac Catheterization System bears the CE Mark CE-0459 indicating its conformity with the provisions of the Council Directive 93/42/EEC concerning medical devices and fulfills the essential requirements of Annex I of this directive. The product is in radio-interference protection class A in accordance with EN 55011. For devices manufactured in the United States, the CE mark is applied under the authority of Notified Body GMED (0459). For devices manufactured in Germany, the CE mark is applied under the authority of Notified Body VDE (0366). The country of manufacture and appropriate Notified Body can be found on the equipment labeling. The product complies with the requirements of standard EN 60601-1-2 "Electromagnetic Compatibility - Medical Electrical Equipment." The CE marking prescribed above is only found on the equipment labeling of the 230V European equipment. Only applicable equipment will bear the CE marking. The safety and effectiveness of this device has been verified against previously distributed devices. Although all standards applicable to presently marketed devices may not be appropriate for prior devices (i.e., electromagnetic compatibility standards), this device will not impair the safe and effective use of those previously distributed devices. Exceptions
The MAC-LAB Cardiac Catheterization System EMC Immunity Performance: There are no exceptions.
General Information
Users should be aware of known RF sources, such as radio or TV stations and hand-held or mobile two-way radios, and consider them when installing a medical device or system. Be aware that adding accessories or components, or modifying the medical device or system may degrade the EMC performance. Consult with qualified personnel regarding changes to the system configuration. This manual is an integral part of the product and describes its intended use. It should always be kept close to the equipment. Observance of the manual is a prerequisite for proper product performance and correct operation, and ensures patient and operator safety. All publications are in conformity with the product specifications and IEC publications on safety of electromedical equipment, as well as with UL requirements valid at the time of printing. All rights are reserved for products, circuits, techniques, software programs, and names appearing in the manual. The warranty does not cover damages resulting from the use of accessories and consumables from other manufacturers. The Marquette Medical Systems quality management system complies with the international standards EN/ISO 9001 and EN 46001, and the Council Directive on Medical Devices 93/42/ EEC.

This product is not likely to cause abnormal operation of other patient-connected equipment, such as a cardiac pacemaker or other electrical stimulators. This product is protected against the effects of cardiac defibrillator discharges to ensure proper recovery, as required by test standards. Periodically, and whenever the integrity of the monitor is in doubt, connect a patient simulator and test all functions.

INTRODUCTION: Manual Information
Manual Information Manual Purpose
This manual describes the operational features of the Marquette MAC-LAB Cardiac Catheterization System. We strongly recommend that the manual be read completely and used as a reference guide after gaining a working knowledge of the system. If possible, have a patient simulator hooked up to simulate physiological conditions. Be sure to read all safety notices. Each chapter is designed to provide operational procedures, and when applicable, indicators, error messages and troubleshooting information. Chapters within the manual can quickly and easily be located using the tabs. Chapter titles are displayed along the top of each page. In addition, appendices and an index have been included for quick references.

Safety Information Responsibility of the Manufacturer
General
Marquette Medical Systems is responsible for the effects of safety, reliability, and performance only if: ■
Assembly operations, extensions, readjustments, modifications, or repairs are carried out by persons authorized by Marquette.
■
The electrical installation of the relevant room complies with the requirements of the appropriate regulations.
■
The equipment is used in accordance with the instructions for use.
This device is intended for use under the direct supervision of a licensed health care practitioner. All computer generated measurements must be checked by qualified personnel for accuracy using the equipment’s review and edit functions. To ensure patient safety, use only parts and accessories manufactured or recommended by Marquette Medical Systems. Contact Marquette Medical Systems for information before connecting any devices to this equipment that are not recommended in this manual. If the installation of this equipment in the USA requires 240V rather than 120V power, the source must be a center-tapped, 240V single-phase circuit. The use of ACCESSORY equipment not complying with the equivalent safety requirements of this equipment may lead to a reduced level of safety of the system. For continued safe use of this equipment, it is necessary that the listed instructions are followed. However, instructions listed in this manual in no way supersede established medical procedures concerning patient care. Disposable devices are intended for single use only and should not be reused.
