§2 SAFETY Signal Words are used to designate a degree or level of safety alerting. The definitions are as follows. CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury or a property damage accident. Some items described in CAUTION, however, could cause a serious accident depending on the situation. Due to their importance. Please follow the instructions below.
2.1 Cautions in Use CAUTION • Never disassemble nor touch the internal structure. An electric shock or a failure of the instrument may occur. • Never yank the power cord to disconnect it from the wall outlet, but hold the plug. This can damage the metal core of the cord and may result in a fire, a short circuit or an electric shock. • When the wire inside of the cable is exposed, the power turns ON or OFF by moving the power cord, or the cord or plug becomes too hot to hold it, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and contact your authorized distributor. It may cause an electric shock or a fire. • Do not crush or squeeze the power cord with heavy objects such as the instrument. Damage to the cord may result in a fire or an electric shock. • Be sure not to put stress on the stylus of the tracer. The stylus is easy to bend or break. • Every once in a while, clean the metal part of the power plug with a dry cloth. If a thick layer of dust settles on the metal part, it will become damp, and a short circuit or a fire may occur. • In the event that the instrument gives out smoke or a strange smell, etc., turn OFF the power and unplug the power cord. After the smoke is not coming out of the instrument any more, contact your authorized distributor. If the instrument which has this kind of abnormal condition, is used, a fire or an electric shock may occur. In case of fire, use a powdery (ABC) extinguisher.
