Intended to use This handpiece is designed only for clinical dental use (Polishing) by qualified personnel.
CAUTION • When operating the handpiece always consider the safety of the patient. • Check for vibration, noise and overheating outside the patient's oral cavity before use. If any abnormalities are found, stop using the handpiece immediately and contact dealer. • Should the handpiece not function normally, cease operation immediately and return the handpiece to your authorised NSK Dealer for service. • Do not attempt to disassemble the handpiece or tamper with the mechanism. • Do not allow any impact on to the handpiece. Do not drop the handpiece. • Do not exceed the drive motor speed recommended the Rubber Cup/Brush manufacturers. • Operators and all others in the area must wear eye protection when operating this handpiece. • If the handpiece has not been used for a long period, check for noise, vibration, and overheating before use. • Never use Reverse Rotation. It may run out the Rubber Cup/Brush and cause an injury.

2. Connecting handpiece and motor 2-1 Connecting Insert handpiece into motor. 2-2 Disconnecting Hold motor’s front side and headpiece’s rear side, and then pull those out.

CAUTION • Do not connect or disconnect the handpiece until the drive motor has completely stopped. • Connect only E type joint (ISO 3964:1982). • Do not exceed motor’s max. rotation speed (20,000min-1).
3. Check before treatment Follow the check below, before treatment. If abnormalities are found, stop using the handpiece immediately and return to contact dealer. 1) Mount the Rubber Cup/Brush. 2) Set up the appropriated max rotation speed to the mounted Rubber Cup/Brush. Check that there are not abnormal rotation, vibration, and noise and overheating. 3) If there are not abnormalities above, rotate the handpiece about one minute. Then check that there are not abnormal heating on the out-side surface. 4) Operate handpiece if there are not abnormalities above.
4. Mounting and Removing the Rubber Cup/Brush 4-1 Mounting 1) Insert the Rubber Cup/Brush into a Screw Hole of the handpiece head. 2) Turn Rubber Cup/Brush in a clockwise direction to fix the screw shank. (Fig. 2) 4-2 Removing Perform a reverse procedure of Mounting. Turn the Rubber Cup/Brush way of “Loosen” direction. (Fig. 2)

5. Maintenances Refer to the Maintenance Guide OM-Z0135E. This handpiece can be washed via Thermo Disinfector.(FX57m) This handpiece can be autoclavable up to Max.135°C.
6. Warranty NSK warrants our handpiece against poor manufacturing, poor workmanship and defects in materials. NSK reserves the right to analyze and determine the cause of any problem. Warranty is voided should the handpiece be not used correctly. Replacement parts are available for seven years beyond discontinuation of the model.

2. Cleaning Manual :
Clean the external surface of handpiece with running water (<38°C, demineralised water recommended). Automated : NSK handpieces with this symbol are the thermo-disinfector-ready and may be washed and disinfected by using a thermo-disinfector. When using a Thermo-disinfector, be sure to follow its manufacturer’s instructions. 1
3. Disinfection Manual : Wipe the external surface of handpiece carefully with cleaning or disinfectant solution.

4. Lubrication
Lubricate handpiece by using NSK PANA SPRAY Plus / PANA SPRAY. To prevent mist spray from escaping into the environment, use absorbent cloth. Expel excess lubrication.

Manual : Handpiece 1) Push or screw nozzle. Shake the spray can 3-4 times. 2) Insert the spray nozzle in the rear of the handpiece and spray for approximately 2-3 seconds until the oil comes Spray Nozzle out of the handpiece head / nose. Automated : Clean and lubricate handpieces with NSK automatic PANA SPRAY Plus / PANA SPRAY handpiece cleaning and lubrication system. Be sure to use a right adaptor for each handpiece. Refer to the system instructions.
5. Sterilization
Autoclave sterilization is recommended. Sterilization is required first time you use and after each patient as noted below. Autoclave Procedure : 1) Insert into an autoclave pouch. Seal the pouch. 2) Autoclavable up to a max. 135˚C. ex.) Autoclave for 20 min. at 121˚C, or 15 min. at 132˚C. Sterilization at 121˚C for more than 15 minutes is recommended by EN13060 or EN ISO17665-1.

CAUTION · Be sure to hold the handpiece firmly to prevent the handpiece from slipping out by the spray pressure when lubricating. · Keep the NSK PANA SPRAY Plus / PANA SPRAY can upright. · Use of lubricants other than NSK’s PANA SPRAY Plus / PANA SPRAY can cause excessive heat generation and possible handpiece damage.

CAUTION of Sterilization
· Always place the handpiece in the center or upper shelf of the chamber, as the local temperature at the bottom of chamber could rise beyond the set value. · Do not autoclave the handpiece even when it is bagged, together with other instruments, from which chemicals are not sufficiently cleaned. This is to avoid discoloration and/or damage the plating of the handpiece/motor. · Do not heat or cool the handpiece quickly. Rapid change in temperature could break the glass rod and give abnormal strain to other metals. (Optic handpiece/motor) · We do not recommend you to sterilize on plasma sterilization or EOG sterilization.
6. Storage
Immediately after a sterilization cycle, remove handpiece from the autoclave. Keep them in a dust-free sterilized storage or bring them to a treatment room for use.

· The handpiece is kept in suitable atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, ventilation, and sunlight. Moreover, air does not include a dust, salt and sulfur.
