STATUS:
Information & Action
DATE:

SUBJECT:
BACKGROUND There is a potential for the user to cause damage or failure of the internal HDD. This is caused by following the incorrect “Power Off” procedure. To reduce the chance of occurrence a Caution Label is now available and can be applied to the front panel, and an accompanying instruction sheet has been produced to provide guidance of the power off procedure. These are now supplied with all new products.
DETAILS The cause of failure is the IMH-10/20 being powered off using the main power switch of the trolley stack system or directly at the external mains supply. The power switch on the front of the IMH should always be used to power down the product. HDD failure can also occur if the power is removed before the shutdown procedure of the IMH-10/20 has completed.

In order to determine that the IMH-10 has completed shutting down, the user will first see “FINISHING” displayed on the front panel followed by “GOODBYE”, once this is no longer displayed it is safe to remove the external power supply. To establish the IMH-20 has completed shutting down, the LCD touch panel will go blank. If the incorrect power off procedure has resulted in damage to the HDD one of the following error messages will be displayed: • • •
INITALIZE ERR (Activation error) SYSTEM ERR. 0001 (Communication error on application) SYSTEM ERR. 0302 0303 (Failure in database)
The unit will then be affected in the following ways: • • •
On power up it will display “Welcome” and fail to complete the start-up sequence. It will not be possible to store images in the external media and the remaining space will be displayed as 0KB. Any existing recordings will not be completed and the unit will freeze.
Caution labels and an instruction sheet are now supplied with all IMH-10 products from serial number 7331084 onwards, and IMH-20 products with serial number 7331572 onwards. The caution labels should be applied at installation and the end user should be made aware, highlighting the details on the instruction sheet. A copy of the instruction sheets are also attached to this bulletin for your reference.
