S Always ground the OCS-K and regularly check the connection. To prevent electric shock, always connect the Power Cord Plug to a hospital grade receptacle (wall mains outlet). S Never let cloth, etc. obstruct the Ventilation Grills when the Lamp is on. S Never spill water or other fluids on the unit while in use. If liquids is spilled on the unit, terminate use immediately. Spilled liquid may impair equipment isolation and lead to electric shock. S Never insert anything into the Light Guide Sockets when connecting or replacing the Light Guide. If anything should enter the sockets, remove the item as it may cause electric shock and damage. S Before lamp replacement, make sure to unplug the Power Cord from the hospital grade receptacle (wall mains outlet) and wait at least 10 minutes to let the lamp cool off completely.

S If the Colposcope Body is to be removed from the Vertical Shaft, make sure to set the Vertical Shaft at the upper limit of its working range and securely tighten the Vertical Tension Adjustment Knob before removing the Colposcope Body. If set to another position than the upper limit of the working range, the vertical shaft may push out. S The OCS-K is not explosion-proof. Never install or operate it where there is a risk of flammable gases. WARNING
S Never look directly at the light emitted from the end of the Light Guide or the Light Source. S During use of the Colposcope, make sure the Colposcope does not get in contact with the patient.
CAUTION
S Take care when moving the Colposcope Body. Do not subject it to impacts. S Do not drop or subject the Colposcope Body to impacts during use or assembly. Do not touch the lens and prism surfaces. S Do not use the equipment with the Light Guide wound around the pillar portion, as this will damage the Light Guide. S To avoid any damage, take care not to move any movable part of the colposcope forcefully against the stops at the extreme ends of the working range while carrying out magnification change, height adjustment, interpupillary adjustment, tilting or focusing. S Do not let the legs hit other equipment, etc. forcefully. S Do not store the equipment horizontally as this may cause equipment malfunction. S All repairs must be made by Olympus personnel. S When transporting the Colposcope using a transportation vehicle other than its own casters (such as cars, trucks, aircrafts, etc.), lock screws must be attached in order to prevent damage to the counter balance feature. Please see Section 3.1, “Transportation on the Floor” for details of procedure.
