Reprocessing Flexible Endoscope Accessories Manual Cleaning and High Level Disinfection for the MAJ-891 WARNING This workflow is a SUMMARY of the reprocessing steps
necessary to properly reprocess your MAJ-891. Following disconnection and disassembly of the MAJ-891 utilize the IFU for how to reprocess the MAJ-891.
WARNING
Be sure to disassemble the forceps/irrigation plug before it is cleaned, disinfected or sterilized. Otherwise, the forceps/irrigation plug may not be properly cleaned/disinfected/sterilized.
Assembled MAJ-891 (Forceps/Irrigation Plug) Precleaning

Disconnect from the endoscope
Completely immerse in detergent solution

Completely Disassemble

Completely immerse in detergent solution

Note: to pass the brush through the biopsy valve, press it between your fingers.
Thoroughly wipe all external surfaces and brush all internal surfaces of each part
Thoroughly rinse after manual cleaning.
Manual Disinfection

Completely immerse all parts in the disinfectant solution

Fill a 30 ml syringe with disinfectant solution and flush the forceps/irrigation plugby covering the stopcock’s holes with your fingers and fill the channel with disinfectant solution

Open the slit of the biopsy valve in disinfectant solution

Cover the basin and soak

Rinsing

Drying
Immerse all parts in sterile water. Flush the forceps/irrigation plug utilizing a 30ml syringe.

Wipe and dry the external surfaces with sterile, lint-free cloth

Use sterile cotton swabs to dry the internal surfaces of each part
Note: when non-sterile water is used after disinfection, immerse all parts in 70% ethyl or isopropyl alcohol and gently agitate them.

Use a lint-free cloth to thoroughly wipe and dry the external surfaces of each part.

Note: Prior to sterilization, the instrument must be thoroughly cleaned and dried. All parts must be sealed in packages separately in packaging appropriate for the sterilization method chosen.
