Laser Operation Connect the laser fiber n
T he laser fiber is connected to the laser system through a customized fiber connector. The laser will only emit laser energy if the system detects a valid laser fiber.
n
T he optical fiber port on the front of the laser system senses the presence of a laser fiber and will automatically open when the laser fiber connector is brought into close range.
n
O nce the door opens, insert the sterile surgical fiber by advancing the fiber connector straight into the port. Once inserted, surgical fibers are automatically detected by the system. Fibers do not need to be screwed into the port.
View fiber information n
T he Fiber Information panel appears by pressing on the Fiber Info area on the Settings screen.
n
W hen viable surgical laser fibers are inserted into the laser port, the system will detect the following information: – Fiber type – Fiber core diameter – Fiber uses remaining. Note: a fiber use is counted once laser energy is passed through the fiber.
