To ‘Unlock’ the Control Panel The control panel will lock itself automatically after 2 minutes and the yellow LOCK light will appear. To unlock, hold the
button for a few seconds until the LOCK light goes out.
Setting the Comfort Level The ALTAIR 4100 has a default comfort setting of MEDIUM when it is turned on. For patients lighter than 80kg, or those who are sensitive, this may be too hard. To adjust the comfort level softer, press the
button.
This is what the softest comfort setting looks like
CARE mode Whenever patients are getting on or off the bed, the safest thing to do is inflate the mattress to full pressure. This hardens the edges and suspends the cell alternation providing a more stable surface. This is also useful when conducting a procedure. Press the
button and the mattress will inflate to full pressure.
This takes about 5 minutes and is indicated when the WAIT light goes out. Press again to return to normal, or it will cancel automatically after 30 minutes.
Transporting To keep the mattress inflated when the power is turned off, remove the air hoses from the pump and click the TRANSPORT cap securely over the end of the hoses.
AUTO button When fully inflated, AUTO mode may be activated by pressing the
button. The
patient will be weighed every 2 hours and the comfort setting automatically adjusted.
ALTERnate button Alternating-cell pressure relief is ON by default. To turn off, press the
button.
For CPR In an emergency, twist the CPR release to deflate the cells immediately.
