The instruments must be thoroughly cleaned and sterilized before the first use and before each re-use. • Clip applying forceps were developed for sterilization in autoclave, this kind of sterilization has a proven history. You can use low temperature procedures e.g. STERRAD as well.  Preparation - Every surgical instrument must be disinfected and particularly cleaned after every use. Clean, check and test every instrument carefully. Sterilize all instruments before use. A suitable cleaning and maintenance procedure will increase the lifetime of the instruments. Taking special care of slots, locks, closures, tubes and other parts that are difficult to reach. Endoscopic Clip applying forceps should be cleaned dissembled (see Assembling / Disassembling). Clip applying forceps for open surgery should be opened completely (unlock the spring/full opening of the rings).  Maintenance safety advices • All surgical instruments should be handled with highest care during, transport, cleaning, care, sterilization and storage. Especially for blades and fine jaws, which are very delicate parts.  Attention - Do not use any corrosive or scratching cleaners (only soft brushed). Cleaners with neutral pH level (7,0) are most suitable. - The Instrument is suitable for ultrasonic cleaning. - Rinse with distilled water carefully - store and sterilize adequate  Assembling / Disassembling  - After cleaning and rinsing, the instruments must be dried carefully. Tubes must be blown out.  Intended Use • It is the decision of the user whether this medical product is appropriate or not. We take no responsibility for consequences of incorrect use and preparation.  - Standard sterilization techniques - It is recommended to sterilize the instruments in autoclave. - Do not sterilize in hot air. - Autoclave Standard cycles: Steam sterilisation 134°C/ 243°F for 15 min. You can also use other times and temperatures, but you should validate them first. (Note: the producer of your autoclave must confirm temperatures and sterilization times.) The temperatures in the autoclave should not exceed 137°C/ 280°F.  Function test • Following delivery and before each use new instruments must undergo a thorough visual examination and must be tested for functionality. If the instruments exhibit any external faults (scratches, breakages, cracks, notches, damaged insulation, bent parts or stiffness) or if they do not function in the way described, please inform us as manufacturer or our sales partners immediately. Warnings and precautions • Do not use damaged instruments. • Please read this information carefully and completely. Misuse and wrong care as well as improper handling can cause earlier degradation of surgical instruments. People, using this instrument, should have knowledge in use and handling of surgical instruments, accessories and associated devices.
