This chapter is intended for beginners with limited experience using computers and Windows NT®. A.1 The information provided in this chapter will enable you to use the applications and enter data. A.1 A short overview gives you an introduction to the program interface itself. Next, you will learn how to operate the computer using the mouse and keyboard. A.1 This chapter also explains the command and input elements on the program’s user interface. A.1

Logon

After switching on the computer you have to log on as a user before you can start working. Users can have different privileges (e.g. normal user or authorized user). A.1 ✧ To log on enter your logon name and your password. ➭ Please contact your system administrator or Siemens Customer Service if you have not yet been entered as a user.
Program start

The applications will start automatically once you have logged on. A.1
Rebooting of main and satellite consoles

The main console and the satellite consoles will start automatically as the system boots up. If you reboot the main console manually, make sure to reboot the satellite consoles as well. A.1
