Indications For Use
This instructions for use manual is the most comprehensive source of information for the safe and effective use of your product. This manual may be used by in-service trainers, physicians, nurses, surgical technologists, and biomedical equipment technicians. Keep and consult this reference manual during the life of the product. The following conventions are used in this manual: • A WARNING highlights a safety-related issue. ALWAYS comply with this information to prevent patient and/or healthcare staff injury. • A CAUTION highlights a product reliability issue. ALWAYS comply with this information to prevent product damage. • A NOTE supplements and/or clarifies procedural information. For additional information, especially safety information, or in-service training, contact your Stryker sales representative or call Stryker customer service. Outside the US, contact your nearest Stryker subsidiary.
Stryker Battery Charger Modules (modules) are intended for use with Stryker battery chargers for the purpose of charging only Stryker battery packs.
Contraindications None known.
User/Patient Safety WARNINGS: • Use only Stryker-approved system components and accessories, unless otherwise specified. DO NOT modify any system component or accessory. • Upon initial receipt and before use, inspect the module for damage. DO NOT use if damage is apparent. • Only trained and experienced healthcare professionals should maintain this equipment. • DO NOT use this equipment in areas in which flammable anesthetics or flammable agents are mixed with air, oxygen, or nitrous oxide.
NOTE: The user and/or patient should report any serious product-related incident to both the manufacturer and the Competent Authority of the European Member State where the user and/or patient is established.

DEFINITION
To prevent module damage, keep the housing of the battery pack level with the module during installation and removal. SYS6

WARNING: DO NOT place a battery pack in a module until after the module is installed into the battery charger. The battery pack may discharge energy into the module making the module extremely hot with the potential to burn. CAUTIONS: • ALWAYS use proper grounding techniques when handling a module. Failure to comply may result in damage to module components by static discharge. • DO NOT pull up on the battery pack during removal from the module. • When Stryker F1 Charger Modules are installed, DO NOT use the modules to lift the charger. NOTES: • Any module may be installed or removed with power applied to the battery charger. • The module software revision number will appear on the information screen during the battery charger power up sequence. • Maintenance documentation for this equipment is available upon request to Stryker-authorized service personnel only.

To Install a Module 1. Fully push the module down and back until it snaps into place on the battery charger. 2. Using a straight slot screwdriver, tighten the screw with a 1/4 clockwise turn. NOTE: The captive screw in the module must be aligned with the screw hole in the top of the battery charger. If the screw will not tighten, fully push the module down and back to properly seat it on the charger. To Remove a Module 1. Using a straight slot screwdriver, loosen the captive screw on the module with a 1/4 counterclockwise turn. 2. Gently pull the module forward and up to remove it from the battery charger. NOTE: If you experience difficulty during removal, make sure to fully pull the module forward before lifting. If necessary, lift the captive screw up separately before lifting the module.

Module Installation and Removal
Cleaning CAUTION: DO NOT sterilize the modules. For cleaning, see the instructions for use supplied with the battery charger.
Disposal/Recycle WARNING: ALWAYS follow the current local recommendations and/or regulations governing environmental protection and the risks associated with recycling or disposing of the equipment at the end of its useful life.
