In-service checklist Neptune® 3 Waste Management System  The points below should be covered when carrying out a Neptune 3 in-service.  Tip: When talking about the Neptune 3 display, it’s helpful to start from the top and work your way down to the bottom.  Rover n  Demonstrate powering the rover on and off  n  Review the warnings that appear on the display screen when powering the rover on  n  Identify the 4L and 20L canisters and respective manifold ports  n  Discuss the canister cleaning capability  n  Demonstrate the canister privacy shutters  n  Discuss different filter characteristics of ULPA (99.999%) and HEPA (99.97%) filters  n  Discuss useful life of filters and how to check filter life in the “settings” mode  n  Practice inserting smoke evacuation tubing into the ULPA filter  Manifold n  Demonstrate how to properly insert a manifold and refer to the manifold indicator stating the manifold is new (the icon will turn white when manifold is inserted properly)  n  Discuss the RFID safety feature (indicates whether manifold is used or new)  n  Know the difference between new, used, and expired manifolds (36-hour manifold life once suction is applied)  n  Highlight the suction level indicator lights and top display (This allows for the surgeon or scrub nurse to see the suction levels)  n  Show connection of fluid suction tubing to 4-port manifold  For detailed instructions, please consult the IFU.
