1.1 Warnings To avoid potential serious injury to the user and the patient, the user must: 1. Read this manual thoroughly, and be familiar with its contents prior to using this equipment. 2. Be a qualified physician/technician, having complete knowledge of the use of this equipment. 3. Test this equipment prior to a surgical procedure. This product was fully tested at the factory before shipment. 4. DO NOT remove covers on the product to avoid an electric shock. 5. DO NOT perform internal repairs or adjustments unless specifically instructed to do so in this manual. 6. The electrical installation of the relevant operating room complies with the applicable IEC, CEC, and NEC requirements. WARNING
Wireless Microphone
The wireless microphone functionality included in this device contains a radio transmitter and receiver. Hospitals and health care facilities may be using equipment that is sensitive to RF frequencies. Prior to using this device in a surgical procedure, perform the following steps to ensure electromagnetic compatibility among operating-room devices: 1. Identify any medical devices located within the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System’s communication range. (Theoretical maximum of 91.5 meters [300 feet]) 2. Test each device for compatibility with the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System: a. Power on the medical devices. b. Perform a variety of functions with the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System, such as speaking through the microphone and powering on and off the microphones. 3. Reposition devices as necessary to maintain electromagnetic compatibility, or disable the wireless microphone. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the conditions that this device does not cause harmful interference.

1.2 Cautions 1. Carefully unpack the unit and check if any damage occurred during shipment. If damage is detected, please see the Damage Claims section in the Appendix. 2. Pay close attention to the care, cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection instructions in this manual. A deviation may cause damage. DO NOT STERILIZE OR DISINFECT THE CONTROL UNIT OR THE TOUCH PANEL DISPLAY. 3. Readjustments, modifications, and/or repairs for the SwitchPoint Infinity® must be carried out only by persons authorized by Stryker Communications. 4. Federal law (United States of America) restricts this device to use by, or on the order of a physician.
1.3 Notes 1. The warranty on this product is void if any of these warnings are disregarded. 2. Disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet before inspecting system components. 3. Stryker Communications has verified that the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System complies with the electromagnetic compatibility requirements for medical devices as specified in IEC 60601-1-2: 2001. Radio-frequency (RF) communication equipment such as the wireless microphone in the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System, however, can still affect other medical electrical equipment in the operating room.

2. Symbols Denotes Class 1 and Type B Equipment. Class 1 Equipment: equipment in which the protection against electric shock does not rely on Basic Insulation only, but includes an additional safety precaution in such a way that means are provided for the connection of Accessible Conductive Parts to Protective (Earth) Conductor in the fixed wiring of the installation in such a way that Accessible Conductive Parts cannot become Live in the event of a failure of the Basic Insulation. Type B Equipment: equipment is suitable for intentional external and internal application to the patient excluding Direct Cardiac Application. When this symbol appears on a device, it refers the user to the Operations and Maintenance manual for important safety information. When it appears in the manual, it is meant to alert the user to the presence of important safety, operating, and maintenance instructions. 3. Safeguards and Precautions 1. All the equipment connected to this unit shall be certified according to Standard IEC60601, IEC950, IEC65 or other IEC/ISO Standards applicable to the equipment. 2. The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System must be installed in a location that is at least 2 meters (6.6 feet) from a patient. 3. The leakage current could increase when connected to other equipment. 4. The operator should take precautions to avoid touching the front panel input and output circuitry and the patient at the same time.

3.1 Important Safeguards/Notices for Use in the Medical Environment
3.2 On Safety • Operate the unit on 100 VAC 50/60 Hz in Japan, 120 VAC 50/60 Hz in North America, and 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz in other locations. • The nameplate indicating operating voltage, power consumption, etc. is located on the front. • Should any liquid enter the SwitchPoint Infinity® chassis, unplug the unit and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further. • To disconnect the AC power cord, pull it out by grasping the plug. Never pull the cord itself. • The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. 3.3 On Installation • Allow adequate air circulation to prevent internal heat buildup. Do not place the unit on surfaces (rugs, blankets, etc.) or near materials (curtains, draperies) that may block the ventilation holes. • Do not install the unit in a location near heat sources such as radiators or air ducts, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration or shock. If you have any questions about this unit, contact your authorized Stryker representative. WARNING

4. System Overview This manual describes the user interface and functionality for the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System running SwitchPoint Infinity® 2.3 Control System software. SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 was designed to work with Stryker devices as well as other devices. To determine if a device is compatible with SwitchPoint Infinity® 2, contact your local Stryker Representative (see the International Representative list at the end of the manual). 4.1 Indications for Use The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System is a medical device that is designed to allow direct control of the state, selection, and settings of room equipment, audio/video equipment, and indirect control through the Stryker Endoscopy Sidne™ System of the state, selection, and settings of surgical equipment in the operating room. The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System is also an integrated voice, video, and data router and teleconferencing interface for the operating room. The intent of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System is to allow operating room personnel a center point for controlling all equipment and communication in surgery. The Stryker SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System is indicated for use with the Stryker Endoscopy Sidne™ System [510(k) #K022393] and Sidne™ compatible endoscopic and general surgery devices. The users of SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System are general surgeons, gynecologists, cardiac surgeons, thoracic surgeons, plastic surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, ENT surgeons, urologists, radiologists, and any other surgeon whom requires the use of voice, video, or control in the operating room or a teleconferencing interface. 4.2 An Integrated Voice, Video, and Data Router and Conferencing Interface The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System is built with high quality video and audio components. It is designed to operate and communicate with a broad range of existing equipment produced by Stryker. The Touch Panel Interface provides a convenient, easy method to control every function of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System. There should be no need to remove the front panel.

5. Equipment Connections 5.1 Connectors Used by the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System uses various commercial-grade video and audio cables to interconnect equipment. Three primary types of cables are used in wiring video systems: Composite cables, which have a BNC connector; RGB-HV cables, which have an HD-15 connector; and S-Video cables, which have a 4-pin mini-DIN connector. BNC connectors are push and turn type connectors; HD-15 connectors are push and screw type connectors; and DIN connectors are push only type connectors. On some monitors, S-Video inputs may be labeled Y/C or S-VHS, and RGB-HV inputs may be labeled PC, Computer, or VGA. The room speaker connection on the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System uses a Phoenix connector. This connector secures with a push and lock motion. 5.2 Connections Overview 5.2.1 Video Inputs There are 6 DVI (optional), 12 RGB-HV (optional), and 12 S-Video source inputs available to receive video directly from Endoscopic and Room Cameras, Printer, Digital Capture Device, VCR, Voice Control Device, and other video device outputs. All of the connections are located on the front panel. For video input wiring, connect each device output to an available video input on the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System connection panel. Any video input may be used for connecting the video devices, as there are no reserved video inputs for specific devices. 5.2.2 Video Outputs There are 8 DVI (optional), 14 RGB-HV (optional), and 14 S-Video outputs available to send video directly to flat panel displays, monitors, projectors, and other video device inputs. All of the connections are located on the front panel. For video output wiring, connect device input to an available video output on the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System connection panel. Any video output may be used for connecting the devices, as there are no reserved video outputs for specific devices. When connected to a “loop-thru” video device, the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System will route the camera signal selected as the source to the device input and receive the output signal for further routing to a monitor (if selected). 5.2.3 Audio Inputs There are 8 audio inputs available on the front panel of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System. Each audio input can either take a line level or microphone level input from an external audio source. Any audio input may be used for connecting audio devices, as there are no reserved audio inputs for specific devices. For example, the wireless microphone receiver can be connected to any of the microphone inputs, as can the Sidne or the VCR. 5.2.4 Audio Outputs There are 8 line level outputs available on the front panel of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System. Any audio output may be used for connecting devices, as there are no reserved audio outputs for specific devices. The Video Network Hub™ and Room Speakers are some of the devices that are connected to the audio outputs on the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System.

5.2.5 RS-232 Connectivity The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System has 16 RS-232 ports that can be used to connect devices that use serial communications, such as PTZ Cameras and Flat Panel monitors. 5.2.6 Relays The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System has 8 relay ports that can be used to control various accessories. 5.2.7 Voltage In / Voltage Out The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System has 2 “in” and 2 “out” ports that can be used to control various devices. 5.2.8 Infrared The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System has 8 IR ports. 5.2.9 KVM There are 4 RGB-HV inputs and 1 output as well as 4 USB keyboard and mouse emulation connections. There is one USB keyboard and one USB mouse connection. WARNING
Do not touch the internal pin of the BNC video out jacks and the patient simultaneously. Doing so may cause the patient to receive an electric shock.
5.2.10 Video Network Hub™ This device will facilitate room-to-room connectivity for video conference. If your system is equipped with a Codec, the Codec will be housed in the Video Network Hub™ and will allow off-site connectivity. The Video Network Hub™ is connected to the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System using the Audio In and Out connectors, the Ethernet connection, and the video input and output connectors. Details of the connection and operation of the Video Network Hub™ are contained in the Operations and Maintenance manual for that equipment. 5.2.11 Sidne™ Voice Activation System The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System can be configured to communicate with the Sidne™ Voice Activation System with an optional upgrade to the Sidne™ system. The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System and Sidne™ are connected via ethernet through an ethernet switch. 5.2.12 OR-Based Conferencing Equipment In addition to the Video Network Hub™, the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System is designed to support several room cameras as well as additional video inputs and outputs. External speakers may be connected to the Speaker output port on the front connection panel.

5.2.13 Local Codec It is possible to support a dedicated video conferencing Codec for any SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System.
Note
The actual cable connections to the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System must be synchronized with the software. This configuration is maintained in the Advanced Setup area of the user interface. Changing cable connections without changing the software configuration will result in system malfunction. Contact technical support for assistance.

6. The Touch Panel Interface 6.1 Touch Panel Interface The Touch Panel Interface controls every function of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System. It offers a menu of options dependent on the equipment that is installed in that particular room. To use the touch panel, simply touch the displayed “button” with the soft surface of your finger. The SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System touch panel interface is divided into three main sections: the Menu Bar, the Control Section, and the Taskbar.

6.2 Touch Panel Functions 6.2.1 Menu Bar The “Menu Bar” on the top of the screen provides access to “Presets”, “Video”, and “Calls” functions and allows you to return to the “Home” screen.
Home Home is the portal to all PC Controls, Device Controls, and Advanced Controls. By selecting the “Home” tab, the screen for control of a specific device or task can be invoked. Presets Presets are a time saving function for remembering frequently used room configurations, such as video routing, audio mixing, camera positioning, calls, and lights. Video The “Video” tab allows you to route various cameras or video input devices in the iSuite® OR to devices or monitors connected to the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System. Calls The “Calls” menu controls the connection of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System to various rooms within the hospital campus. It also provides access to offsite locations using a Codec installed in the Video Network Hub™. Note
Most styluses cannot be used on the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System’s touch panel interface. For best results, use your finger on the touch panel interface.
Note
Avoid getting moisture on the surface of the screen, and be careful not to scratch the surface with instruments or finger nails.
6.2.2 Taskbar The “Taskbar” at the bottom of the screen provides quick access to some commonly used functions. These functions include the Help feature, Speaker Volume control, PIP, Camera Control, SORN Support, and Time display, as well as Advanced Setup interface.

6.2.3 Help The Help screen offers tutorials that explain how to operate the system. To access the Help section, press the Help button on the taskbar as shown above. The “How To” tab, as shown below, uses multimedia to show you how to operate different functions of the system. For example, it displays how to route video, how to make a call, and how to control the speaker volume. You will also find the Stryker Communications Technical Support contact information in the Help section.
6.2.4 Audio The Volume button on the taskbar can be used to change the Room Speaker volume without having to go to the Audio Levels screen.
6.2.5 PIP The PIP button allows you to jump to the PIP control from any screen without having to navigate through the “Home” screen. 6.2.6 SORN Support The SORN Support button allows you to go to the Technical Support Notification page where you can send a complaint or help message directly to Stryker personnel.

To use this feature, the SPI must be registered to SORN and a service contract should have been purchased.
6.2.7 Advanced Setup The Advanced Setup button allows access to the Software Configuration screens of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System and the Video Network Hub™ (if present). If the Sidne™ Voice Activation System is configured to work with the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System, its configuration screen will be accessible when the Advanced Setup button is pressed. If the Advanced Setup button is selected, the “About Infinity” screen will appear. This screen displays the Institution Name, Room Name, and Software Version. These screens should only be accessed by a Stryker representative or authorized personnel. You will be prompted to enter a username and password for security purposes. Note that the Advanced Setup screens can only be accessed from the local touch panel interface of the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System. 6.2.8 Home The “Home” screen displays all PC Controls, Device Controls, and Advanced Controls devices that are connected to the SwitchPoint Infinity® 2 Control System. For example, the Video Router button controls all of the routing functions within the room while the Room Camera button sets up and operates the pan/tilt/zoom cameras located within the room. To access the “Home” screen, select the “Home” tab from the “Menu Bar.” The PC Controls section has buttons that allow you to access the controls to all PCs, such as the AUX, NAV, and PACS PCs. The Device Controls section shows buttons for surgical devices such as the Endoscopic Camera, Insufflator, Light Source, Shaver, and Arthroscopy Pump that are controlled by the optional Stryker Sidne™ Voice Activation System. This section will not display any device buttons if your system is not equipped or configured with a Sidne™. If there is a Sidne™ configured but the Sidne™ system is turned off or the network is down, the text “Sidne Not Connected” will be displayed in the Device Controls section. The Advanced Controls sections features buttons for Advanced Routing, Audio Levels, Display, PIP, Room Camera, and the Stopwatch functions.

6.3 Keyboard The “Keyboard” screen is a generic screen that appears when any screen contains an item that requires naming, such as “Presets” or “Calls”. Use the alphanumeric keys on the keyboard to name a button. Once completed, press the Done button to continue. To cancel naming a button, press the red “X” button at the top right hand corner of the screen.
