Introduction This User’s manual has been written in the manufacturer’s original language and translated into the language of the country in which the equipment is used. It forms an integral part of the equipment, with which it should always be kept. The User’s manual should accompany the equipment in the event of relocation or sale. The manual must be kept in a known, accessible place, protected against dampness and heat. The manual describes installation, transport and maintenance procedures and contains valuable information and useful suggestions about workout methods; it is therefore a guide for both professional users and beginners. The following symbols will help you to read this User’s manual:
WARNING Highlights important information, which should not be overlooked.
DANGER Highlights rules, which should be carefully observed, in order to avoid situations that are hazardous to persons and the equipment.

Important safety instruction Please read all instructions before using Runrace. These instructions were written to ensure your safety and to protect the unit. Runrace is intended for commercial use. When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be always followed, including the following. Read all instructions before using Runrace.
DANGER To reduce the risk of electric shock, always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet immediately after using and before cleaning or performing any maintenance tasks.
WARNING To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock or injury to person, take the following precautions: -
Runrace should never be left unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before cleaning it, and before putting on or taking off electrical parts.

Close supervision is necessary when Runrace is used by, or near children, invalids or disabled persons.
-
Use Runrace only for its intended use as described in this manual. Only perform the exercises for which the equipment has been designed, following the instructions given in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.

Never operate Runrace if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. In this case, contact the Technogym Technical Support service.

Do not carry Runrace by supply cord or use cord as handle.

Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.

Keep hands away from moving parts.
-
Never drop or insert any object into any opening.

Do not use outdoors. Do not leave the appliance outdoors, exposed to the elements (rain, sun, wind, etc.). Do not expose the appliance to water jets.

Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.

To disconnect, turn all controls to the off position, then remove plug from outlet.
WARNING Connect Runrace to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions.

Personal safety Do not use Runrace in presence of small children or pets. Completely assemble Runrace before using it. Check the unit before each use. Do not continue to operate Runrace when it is not working properly. Assemble and operate Runrace on a solid, level surface. Keep all electrical components, such as the power cable and On/Off switch, away from liquids to prevent shock. Do not set anything on the casing or control panel. Do not use accessory attachments that are not recommended by the manufacturer; such attachments might cause injury. Maintain Runrace in good working condition. If there are signs of wear, contact the Technogym Technical Support service. Do not attempt to service Runrace with maintenance operations other than the maintenance instructions found in this manual. Before starting an exercise, make sure your position on the equipment is correct, and be careful with any components that might constitute an obstruction. Wear proper exercise clothing and shoes during a workout, no loose clothing. Tie long hair back. Keep garments or towels away from moving parts. Choose suitable exercises for your physical characteristics and state of health, starting out with light weight loads. Do not overexert yourself or work to exhaustion. If you feel any pain or abnormal symptoms, stop your workout immediately and consult your physician.

Control panel: lets you operate all available functions, from setting exercise programs to displaying workout messages and data.

A Fixed guard: guards against access to the inside of the equipment. B Emergency button: stops the equipment immediately in the event of an emergency. If a dangerous situation arises, this button can stop the machine without having to use the normal controls. The system remains blocked until the emergency button is unblocked by turning the knob. C Beep: warns the user when the equipment is switched on, when the exercise starts or finishes or if the heart rate is high. D Fuses: they protect the equipment’s electrical parts. When power surges, the fuses blow, preventing damage to the electronics inside. E Main switch: turns the equipment’s power on and off.

F The label next to the main switch states the electrical specifications and a number of warnings. G The label on the right of the control panel contains specific instructions on how to put on the chest band for the heart rate monitor. H The label for attachment to the power supply cable states the electrical specifications. I
The labels attached to both sides of the protection guard contain instructions on how to lubricate the treadbelt.
L The labels on both sides of the treadbelt warn of “MOVING PARTS”. M The labels attached to the protection guard at the front and rear part of the equipment warn of “CRUSHING HAZARDS”. N The label attached under the guard, on the right in the rear part of the equipment, contains instructions on how to use the treadbelt adjustment screws. O The label inside the motor casing warns of the presence of the voltage danger.

1.3 Installation and assembly 1.3.1 Place of installation To ensure that exercising with Runrace is easy, safe and effective, the place where it is used should comply with certain specific requirements; in particular, before choosing the place where the equipment will be installed, please ensure that the following conditions are satisfied: -
temperature between +10°C and +25°C;
-
enough air is circulating to keep humidity during exercise between 20% and 90%;
-
lighting good enough to make the area a safe and relaxing place to exercise in;
-
plenty of free space around each item of equipment, and a free space of 2x1 m in front of the treadbelt, as shown in the illustration;

that the floor is flat, stable and vibration-free, with enough support for the equipment plus user.
If the equipment is installed in a public place of entertainment, its location must comply with all the suitability requirements laid down in current legislation on this matter. Equipment not suitable for use in the presence of anaesthetic mixtures inflammable in air, oxygen or nitrous oxide. It is recommended not to use the equipment in an area with a high presence of short waves or similar interference.

If there are several equipments with heart rate receivers in the same area, a minimum distance must be maintained between them to avoid signal interference: -
leave a minimum distance of 90 cm between two Runrace;

1.3.2 Unpacking Runrace is delivered partially assembled. Depending on the country of destination, it can be packed inside a special cardboard package attached to a pallet, or wrapped in a transparent plastic sheet and attached to a pallet. The packed material can be lifted and carried with normal lifting equipment. The instructions are printed directly on the pack. In order to ensure the safety of persons and property, you should think carefully about what lifting and transport equipment to use, in relation to the equipment’s place of destination.
