ROTEM® sigma – HOW TO RUN A TEST Have patient sample (blue top tube filled to line) and sealed ROTEM cartridge ready

Always follow the on screen instructions: STEP 1:

ü To LOGIN, select username icon: xxxx and input password: xxx (lowercase)

ü Press START ü Open & remove cartridge from packet PLEASE NOTE: If a message comes up requesting maintenance or QC, please select CANCEL

STEP 2: ü Insert the cartridge into the ROTEM® sigma Cartridge must be used within 10 minutes after opening

STEP 3: ü Enter patient name and URN ü Press

STEP 4: ü Gently mix the citrate sample (blue top tube) – DO NOT SHAKE

ü WAIT while the cartridge is being prepared ü When PROMPTED, insert the sample into the cartridge The measurements will start automatically after 5 minutes

STEP 5: ü Let the test run until desired results are available (A5 / A10 or longer) You can print at ANY TIME - please ALSO print when test has finished

ü To PRINT: select SIGMA on print switch, press PRINT and select 4 ü Stop all channels by pressing STOP ALL when required ü To save the measurement(s) in the database and clear the channel(s), then press SAVE/CLEAR ALL

STEP 6: IMPORTANT STEP ü WAIT until prompted to remove cartridge from device ü When prompted, remove and dispose of the cartridge into the
