LS 100 Diagnostics Light Owners Manual

1. Securely tighten the clamp @to the chosen mounting surface. 2. Align the holes in the wall mount bracket @I on the light with the holes in the table clamp. 3. Use the screws and wrench provided to fasten the wall mount to the clamp. 4. For mounting the transformer for 220-240 Volt Models, see the Transformer Mounting instructions below. Mount the transformer and then continue to step 5 - 7. 5. Locate the light’s power switch. Make sure it is in the OFF (“0”) position 0. 6. Plug the power supply into a grounded electrical outlet. 7. Turn the light’s power switch to ON (D).

The arm is designed to be bent, NOT twisted. Twisting or torque will decrease the life of the arm and cause drooping of the arm. Following these recommendations will ensure flexibility with minimal drooping of the arm. Once a section of the flexible arm has been bent into a position (Position @, for example), it must be returned to the neutral position (Position 0, for example), before it can be bent into any other position (Position 0, for example). This prevents the twisting from @ to 0 that could damage the unit. For the best response, always position the arm by moving it in the same direction as gravity. If the arm needs to be raised, raise it above the desired position and then lower it as needed. Special Note: We recommend that you DO NOT acutely bend the flexible arm, as shown in @I.

Der Biegearm soll gebogen, NICHT verdreht werden. Ein Verdrehen oder eine zu starke Biegebeanspruchung führt zu vorzeitigen Ermüdungserscheinungen und einer nachlassenden Postionsstabilität. Für optimale Stabilität und Lebensdauer sollten Sie nachfolgende Empfehlungen beachten. Wurde der Biegearm beispielsweise in die Position @ gebogen, so darf er nur über eine neutrale Position, wie z.B. Position @, in eine andere Position, wie beispielsweise Position 0, gebogen werden. Dadurch wird em Verdrehen von @ nach 0 und damit eine Beschädigung des Gerätes verhindert. Am besten wird der Arm immer durch eine Bewegung in Richtung der Schwerkraft in eine neue Position gebracht. Muß der Arm nach oben geführt werden, so sollte er zunächst höher als die gewünschte. Position gebracht und anschließend nach Bedarf abgesenkt werden. Besonderer Hinweis: Der Biegearm sollte NICHT so stark wie in Abbildung @I dargestellt gebogen werden.

Remarque spbciale : il est recommande de NE PAS replier le bras flexible dans la position de la figure @

WARNING: THE LAMP OPERATES AT A HIGH TEMPERATURE. IT MAY SHATTER UNDER PRESSURE. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPLACE TI-IE LAMP WHILE IT IS HOT. WAIT UNTIL TI-IE LAMP IS COOL. 1. Turn the power switch to the OFF position (“0”) and unplug the cord from the outlet. 2. With your thumb and index finger, squeeze on the release tabs @ and @, pulling back on the top cap until it rests against the housing. 3. To remove a lamp, grasp it by its base and remove it from the unit’s lamp holder. CAUTION: DO not grasp the glass lamp housing as it is fragile and may break. 4. Remove the WA #06300 replacement lamp from its plastic envelope, being careful not to handle the glass lamp housing. Inspect the replacement lamp, and if required, remove any grease or fingerprints from it with a clean cloth moistened with alcohol. 5. Using a clean cloth, firmly push the new lamp 0 into the 2 pin lamp holder socket @ ‘To assure maximum light output, make sure the lamp base is pushed flush against the lamp holder socket. 6. Push the top cap back into place and plug the line cord back into the electrical outlet.

ACHTUNG: DIE LAMPE WIRD SEHR HEISS. SIE KANN DURCH DRUCKEINWIRKUNG ZERPLATZEN. VOR EINEM WECHSEL UNBEDINGT ABKUHLEN LASSEN. 1. Schalten Sie den Strahler am Netzschalter AUS (“0”) und ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der Steckdose. 2. Druecken Sie mit Daumen und Zeigefinger auf die Freigabelaschen@ und @ und klappen Sie den Deckel soweit zurück, bis er gegen das Gehäuse lehnt. 3. Greifen Sie die Lampe an ihrem Sockel und ziehen Sie sie aus ihrer Fassung heraus. VORSICHT: Nicht am Lampenglas anfassen! Es ist sehr empfindlich und könnte zerbrechen. 4. Entnehmen Sie die Ersatzlampe WA Nr. 06300 aus ihrer Verpackung. Berühren Sie dabei die Lampe nicht am Glas. Überprüfen Sie die Ersatzlampe und entfernen Sie eventuelle Fettflecken oder Fingerabdruecke mit einem sauberen, alkoholbefeuchteten Tuch. 5. Druecken Sie die neue Lampe @ mit einem sauberenTuch in die Zweistift-Lampenfassung@. Im Interesse maximaler Lichtabgabe muß die Lampe fest und vollständig in der Fassung sitzen. 6. Klappen Sie den Deckel wieder in die richtige Lage zurück und stecken Sie den Netzstecker in die Steckdose.

Appuyer sur les pattes de degagement @ et @ avec le pouce et l’index, en tirant le couvercle vers Paniere jusqu’a ce qu’il touche au boitier. 3. Retirer l’ampoule en la saisissant par la base et en la retirant de son support. ATTENTION : ne pas saisir le globe de l’ampoule; il est fragile et risque de se briser.

Be careful not to allow the plug prongs to get wet. 3. DO not plug the light back into the electrical outlet until the light is thoroughly dry NOTE: DO not sterilize the unit. CAUTION: DO not immerse the unit in cleaning solutions.

General: Qualified personnel should make electrical inspections of the unit. Leakage Current Test: The leakage current measured from any exposed metal to ground with input voltage of 120V, 60Hz (or 240V, 50Hz) and the ground wires securely connected shall not exceed 100 microamps. Ground Continuity: The resistance measured from the ground pin of the plug to the exposed metal on the unit should be .1 ohm maximum. Repair: To locate qualified Service personnel, contact your local authorized Welch Allyn distributor, or contact Welch Allyn directly at (315) 685-4560. If returning a floor stand unit for service, disassemble the flexible arm from the pole to prevent damage. 1. Turn the power switch to the OFF position (“0”) and unplug the cord from the outlet. 2. Using a small flat head screwdriver, CAREFULLY pull back the tabs at the top of the pole slightly-just enough to disengage them from the black plastic insert in the pole. 3. Pull up on the bottom end of the flexible arm and remove it from the pole. Let the light head rest down by the floor stand base.

4. Wrap the light head and place unit in box NOTE: If the supply cord of this equipment is damaged it must only be replaced by a repair shop appointed by the manufacturer.
